Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Saint Augustine Beach - Anastasia Lodge Cabana

Stay In A Historic 1940's Motor Court With Pool, Steps To The Sand!

Bright 1940's Beach Cottage, just steps to the sand!

Kick back in this stylish vintage beach house, situated in a historic 1940's Motor Court right on scenic A1A on the west side, steps from the ocean! ANASTASIA LODGE CABANA is located on the Golden Mile of Old St. Augustine Beach, so this coastal haven is walking/biking distance to local restaurants and just a short drive to Historic Downtown. It has everything you need, including a stocked kitchen, two bikes, surf and paddle board, a plunge pool, hot tub spa, far infrared sauna and towels. A pool bath with an outdoor shower for beach days is located in the private courtyard. Just bring your suitcase and enjoy a calming retreat by the sea!

This bright and airy jewel was deemed the ANASTASIA LODGE CABANA by local surfers and beach-goers due to its relaxed old-Florida appeal and ideal location, by the most gorgeous surfing beaches around! This historic cottage is located on the vast, non-driving part of the beach, across from the entrance to the beautiful Anastasia State Park; the views are absolutely pristine! The State Park is full of nature and bird preserves. Your peaceful morning walks will go on for miles filled with endless natural beauty... a photographer's paradise!

Peek out the living room windows towards the Anastasia State Park beach access, then walk right out the front gate and stroll over to put your toes in the sand or have morning coffee at the famous FA’s Cafe! "FA" is an old local surfer’s term for “First Access” to the surf break/waves. This is a perfect spot for swimming, fishing, or watching local paddle boarders and surfers enjoying our salty St. Augustine lifestyle near the Pier. Walk right across the street to the Wednesday morning oceanside farmer’s market for local goodies or walk next door to Salt Life Food Shack for lunch with ocean views. Ride the beach cruisers anywhere on St. Augustine Beach or drive just minutes to the downtown shopping & nightlife! It's all right here, as the ANASTASIA LODGE CABANA is centrally located and right in the heart of it all!

*There are two bedrooms, both with queen beds. OUR MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY IS 4, AND IS STRICTLY ENFORCED due to the cozy size of the vintage cottage.

There is private parking for a maximum of three cars, no street parking.

About Kate

To me, this beautiful little vintage cottage represents the beauty of St. Augustine Beach... the history of our Ancient City, the salty lifestyle we live here, and the sense that life can still be simple and fun if we choose it to be. For many years I have been renovating historic properties in town and beachside, and this wonderful Motor Court cottage is my favorite so far! I want to share this cozy little jewel, so others may also step back in time and enjoy the old-Florida appeal and relaxed ocean lifestyle here in St. Augustine Beach. I hope you enjoy this sweet little GEM as much as I do! Kate

We had a really great time

  • 5 of 5

The location of this place could not have been better. Convenient and short drive to St Augustine's Old City - where we spent quite a bit of time each evening of our stay. Right across the street is St Augustine Beach - which is truly beautiful. One day, we took the bikes and headed out toward the right. Had a blast riding the bikes for miles on the perfect beach. Then we walked for a few miles and met all kinds of great people - and dogs, as this is an area that people walk their dogs. On the way back we found Beachcombers - the perfect beach bar/restaurant. Also the Taco Shop which had excellent food. The next day, we headed out to the left of the cottage on the beach and experienced the Anastasia State Park portion of the beach. It was awesome and for most of our walk, we were the only humans on the beach. Beautiful, romantic, serene. What a great time we had enjoying one of life's simple pleasures. Just being together - alone.

I've saved the best for last and that is the cottage itself. It is ultra cool and done just right. The feeling of the 40s and 50s was there even though the place had clearly been updated. Tastefully done. It's a 40s cottage - so you won't get huge bedrooms or an expansive bathroom. That is more than made up for by the great common area that includes the kitchen, dining area and living area. It was super comfortable and decorated with some mid century modern accents - with the feel of the proximity to the beach always present. Again - well done. For us - the highlight was the very private and beautiful back yard. Palm trees and beautiful plants, a great patio and deck. The pool was clean and warm and we enjoyed it every day!- keeping n mind were were there in November The hot tub at night was cozy, romantic, and very clean. The cabana has a private bathroom, a sauna and leads to the outdoor shower which was also great.

We basically had one of the most relaxing vacations we ever had. Walk the beach in the morning. At lunchtime have a few beers at Beachcombers and/or hit the Taco Shop. Come back to the cottage and relax in the back yard, swim, listen to music, read. Head out to the old city for some nice dinner and then return to the cottage for a late night soak in the hot tub.

To conclude, I just want say that the cottage was immaculate - inside and out. The attention to detail was noticeable throughout our stay. The bikes worked great and we appreciated the laundry facilities. In a word - OUTSTANDING.

Had a great experience at tastefully decorated cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived just days after hurricane Matthew and were welcomed by a clean and tastefully decorated cottage. Everything worked as advertised except cable tv which we attributed to hurricane. After talking to neighbors we called property manager and Bill was at the cottage in 20 mins and resolved issue with Comcast. Cottage is great for couple or very small family. Dip pool was clean and pool furniture in good shape. Short walk to beach and several places to eat. Good jumping off spot for exploring St. Augustine. We had a great time and recommend this property for couples!

Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our home away from home. The property was neat and clean on both inside and out. Anything you needed was available in the house or outside or even in the garage. The little things, like non breakable glass wear, was in the cabinet. The beds were very comfortable as was the sofa bed my son slept on. There were eating establishments within walking distance and a short 5 minute walk to the beach/pier. We had to cut our visit short by 2 days as Hurricane Matthew decided to rear his ugly head. We were sick over the fact we had to evacuate St. Augustine as it meant we had to leave our home away from home.

A Delightful Week

  • 5 of 5

My family thoroughly enjoyed a perfect week due to your cottage! It was clean, comfortable and seemed to have everything we needed. The private backyard pool/ hot tub was so relaxing and beautiful! We were thrilled to be able to walk to the beach for a long morning walk and enjoy fun in the sun! Kathryn was so helpful and even mailed me a baby monitor we accidentally left behind. I'd say that is excellent customer service !

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

This Cottage provides the perfect Oasis to get away from it all! The Cabana and pool area was certainly our favorite, and the kids spent hours in the pool. The cottage is walking distance to the beach and has everything you need for a perfect stay. The cottage is clean and the décor is updated and very pretty. This was a perfect choice for our family of four! Kate was absolutely amazing to work with and very responsive.

Notes:
FOOD/DINING: Here are a few suggestions for some really good places to eat around the beach: For a casual local breakfast you can walk out the door to FA Cafe or go just a few blocks up to Cafe 11 (11th Street). I really love a little place called Cafe Atlantico that is only a few blocks up near 2nd Street on A1A. They have great food and it's very cozy and romantic. La Cocina International Restaurant in the lobby of Castillo Real Hotel at 11th Street is also really delicious, my fave for a delicious, cozy lunch or dinner. Salt Life, just next door, is a good option for an afternoon meal or dinner with a wonderful ocean view. Also, downtown, some local favorites you may want to check out are: The Floridian (local fare/flair), Catch 27 (local, fresh, hip spot), The Tasting Room (great tapas and fabulous wine list), and The Ice Plant (a must/hand-made drinks and fresh local fare). The Historic Casa Monica Hotel is an elegant place for lunch or dinner.
