This charming 1 BR/1BA apartment is about as close as you can get to our historic downtown village! Step outside this “private perch” into the historic downtown area. Located within a “block or few” are a variety of restaurants, unusual stores and shops, art galleries, museums, Lake Dora, City Docks, marina and many parks and recreational facilities. festivals, concerts,

Two private entrances lead to a 4 room private upstairs apartment with oversized walk-in pantry and master closet. The entry hallway features a well lit bookshelf/library area from which one can access all rooms. A cozy living room in the front gable of the home with large windows on 3 sides, and interior French Doors for additional privacy, overlooks the street from tree top level. The bedroom has 1 Q size bed, 2 dressers and a large walk-in closet. A fully equipped "eat-in" kitchen can seat up to 4 and has a second small room, or pantry, off the dining area, offering more space for a small work area or a walk-in pantry, etc. The bathroom has a claw foot tub (great for a relaxing soak) and a shower feature. A private exterior balcony with table and chairs off the kitchen offers a perch for enjoying your favorite beverage and has a quaint street view into the historic downtown. In the winter one can see Lake Dora through the tree lined streets. An old fashioned open front porch w columns faces the street and provides a private place to sit and read, or visit with friends. A utility room with a washer and dryer is located on the back porch.

Our historic home has been a special destination for seasonal residents for over a century! This lovingly cared for private home, with a private and separate upstairs apartment, is on Florida’s State Historic Master Site file and the local historic register. This upstairs apartment/home has all utilities and Wi-Fi. A 2 month minimum booking during the season of December to April is required.

About Andrea Burr

After purchasing this historic home in 1994 it served as a professional office space downstairs, with an upstairs apartment. Over the years (we are the third family who has owned and lived in this historic home since it was built in 1906), it has been the focus of many restoration and civic projects!

We purchased this property from the family who had lived in it for 75 years, and are now stewards of this fabulous 110+ year old home. With our family having lived in Florida for 10 generations, we cherish our Florida heritage and are interested in our State and local history, active in enjoying and protecting our unique environment and love the lifestyle of a small town village. We also love being close to 3 airports and with other world class amenities within 30 - 45 minutes.

The downstairs for years was where mom, dad and the kids lived, while the upstairs was for the grandparents with a separate kitchen. In 1995 the entire downstairs was converted to professional office space. Over the years as the business changed and grew, we began to office at home and created a smaller office space and changed most of the downstairs back to living space. We love living in downtown Mount Dora, there is always so much to do! Many family members have lived upstairs over the years!

What makes this apartment unique

One just can't get seasonal lodging at such a great rate, along with private off street parking, so close to our historic downtown village and downtown parks! The neighborhood is very sought after and the location is fabulous, as its right in the center of the downtown and what's happening so you can usually leave your car at home! The charming apartment is secure, furnished and kept in great condition. The living room at tree top level has huge windows that open up on all 3 sides to let fresh Florida breezes from the lake into the home, or simply view a great street scene!
