About Vacasa, CA - Northern California Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Perfect get-a-way from a busy life.

 • 4 of 5

The house is exactly as it appears in photos, remote, quiet, close to nothing but ocean air and night stars. Oh, there is a sweet little grocery across the road...

Our problems with the house seem correctable (mystery light switches, missing light bulbs, slow draining shower, i.e., housekeeping issues that remained un-reportable until check-out as there is no cell service, no internet) and a bad freezer that WAS noted by housekeeping, no use of the bathtub (signs were fairly permanent), but we WERE disappointed that there seems to be no plan to repair the hot tub!

Would we return? In a heartbeat!

Perfect get-a-way house for a busy family.

 • 4 of 5

Bring books, binoculars (your own), movies, board games and a desire to isolate in this charming community with a family-run general store, post office with books to borrow, quiet, serene, laid-back piece of California coast wonderland. We did, we loved it!

Beautiful home next to private beaches.

 • 5 of 5

Very modern, clean, and updated. Location next to multiple private beaches. Gorgeous views on the deck and patio. Majestic sunsets over the ocean. Westport was a very quiet, small town. Loved the amenities of washer/dryer and dishwasher after traveling for a week. Great taste in music! Would highly recommend!

Great Potential, fell way short!

 • 1 of 5

Cobwebs, dead flies & bees were our first impression. Then, upon entering the master bedroom we encountered a big black human hairball floating on the wood floor, gross! We made a pizza and went to grab plates from the cupboard to find the plates were dripping with gross brown water!! I had to wash every dish and every piece of silverware we planned to use because they were all marred with food particles. When we finally got situated and sat down to watch the tv (via the DVD player, because there is no cable or wifi) we got 30 minutes into a movie when the player began to freeze up every few seconds. We cleaned the DVD but it made no difference and so we gave up. Going upstairs was hit or miss with the lighting, as sometimes the lights stayed on, and sometimes they'd flicker off. The next morning we attempted to make toast but the handle to push the toast down fell off, obviously broken prior to our arrival as plastic was missing. The GFI plug in the bathroom wasn't tight enough to keep my blow dryer plugged in, nor my makeup mirror. The second night, we rented a dvd hoping that the player would effectively play a newer dvd, but AGAIN, we got 30 minutes into the movie when the DVD player decided to freeze up again!!! It was super frustrating to not have the ability to watch any movies since we went there to relax and unwind. The town closes down at 9:00 pm and there was literally NOTHING to do without the television. Although they tell you Fort Bragg is only 15 miles away, it's a 30 minute drive at best, so that's not an option if you plan to have a cocktail. So very disappointing as we went to bed every night at 9:00 which was not at all our idea of a vacation. We did reach out once as the list of disappoints grew to an unsatisfactory level, but it's been a week and the company has not rendered any opportunity to make it right by us. The rate was high enough to give us a level of expectation that this place fell WAY short of. If the rate were $100/night, then we would have received exactly what we paid for. Triple that rate, and we got taken advantage of. The view was stunning but vacation is more than just a view.

Great stay

 • 5 of 5

Overall it was very nice. House is in good order. View was amazing. Beds were kinda OK. Felt like I sank into a hole. Pillows and blankets were nice though.

There is a market across the street which is super convenient. They provide internet for the house so it is only available in one small corner on the second floor.
