About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Convenient but overpriced

  • 3 of 5

Even though my stay was in a vacation hot spot over a holiday weekend, I still think it was a bit pricey overall given the condition of the condo. The room definitely needed some renovations.

Location can't be beat, but poor communication between management companies...

  • 2 of 5

Giving this place two stars for the location only, which is incredible -- TRUE ski-in/out and just across from the Big Springs Gondola.

Friday evening: Checked in after driving 5 hours from Bay Area and just wanted to get some sleep....

Bed was slept in/dirty sheets, the bath towels were used and all thrown into the bathroom sink, trash still in garbage can, dirty dishes in dishwasher, leftover eggs and dairy items in fridge, filthy floors. The unit was not cleaned and not at all ready for a new renter.

Biggest concern was no parking passes left. This is an area of Northstar that you must have a parking pass or you will get towed.

Called Vacasa immdiately, they would send someone the very next morning to clean.

Saturday: Spent the entire day on the mountain and returned at 4:30pm, the unit was in the same condition as I found it...no one had cleaned. No new linens.

Called Vacasa again and was told they'd waive the cleaning fee. After three more calls to Vacasa, someone finally shows up to clean at 6pm, just as I'm trying to settle in and relax for the day. Very awkward. I couldn't take a shower (because there were no fresh linens and now there are people in this tiny condo cleaning). Had to leave.

There needs to be better communication between Vacasa (based out of Oregon) and the local property management at Northstar. This was not a great rental experience. I should have heeded the warnings that I read on VRBO and went with other unit that was available.

Poorly maintained, not as advertised. chairs duck taped, no pull out coach, mgr on extended leave

  • 1 of 5

Only plus is on mtn and ski on. Pull out sofa wired shut, my kids slept on their filthy rug. Husband fell off the dining chair, we found all 4 duck taped together. Stove smoked so badly we had to open all windows. Upon email to prop mgr, reply is that he is on extended leave... Book another unit, so many to choose from, and owners who care about the rental experience.

Not my favorite place but cool window to watch skiers.

  • 3 of 5

Felt like camping on the inside- needs big time update. The window to watch skiers is cool but the trek down to the village is awful. There is no trail so you have to walk on the slope. Parking is uncovered and limited. Using the shuttle at this location doesn't make sense. We won't rent again.
