We felt like everyone should have the experience of waking up to a beautiful sunrise and spending the evenings on the deck as the sun goes down and you get to see God himself paint one of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see!
The most beautiful multilevel pier on caddo lake! The cottage sets to the side of this beautiful pier and its yours to enjoy, along with the outdoor kitchen!
Quaint, quiet, peaceful, great scenery, overall precisely what I wanted. Blown away by how peaceful it was, actually.
We enjoyed our stay with perfect accommodations. Will be back and recommend to other. What a quiet romantic get away.
While the location and general ambiance are pleasant, as other reviewers have described, there at some things you need to know before you go. One is that the cabin is very small, basically one big room, and there is very little floor space for luggage and other things you might bring, and there are no luggage racks. The small closet is full of cleaning supplies, and the drawers are full of paper plates and plastic cutlery, so there is no place to hang or stow clothing. The lamp wattage is dim, and there is no lighting for reading in bed. The dining table is very tiny, barely enough room for two people. There is an outdoor kitchen, but it needs to be cleaned. There were ancient leftovers in the fridge. Again, it is a nice location and the cabin itself is nicely decorated, but it could be more livable, and the place needs a little more upkeep.
Our stay was just Awesome! As a foster parent I try to make this little boy always have a smile. This child had a blast. The little cottage was just perfect for him , me and my wife. He caught bunches of fish and being as hot as it is there was always a breeze on the pier while we was there. The outdoor kitchen with TV was perfect. Worms to fish with and all the ice you need were a great incentive. I recommend this little quiet place to everyone. Thanks Mr. And Mrs. Johnson for the hospitality.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Cypress Pier & Cottage over the 4th of July weekend and were very impressed with the hospitality and how beautiful the property and views were. Upon our arrival, we found the room spotless and were pleasantly surprised to find a basket of treats, as well as a basket in the bathroom filled with things like toothbrushes, mouthwash, sunscreen, and deodorant in case we forgot to bring anything (and I had forgotten deodorant so was quite grateful for this). When we arrived the room was set at a comfortable 60°F, which back home would be chilly, but here it was appreciated as the average temperature outside during our stay was 96°F!!!
Dennis in particular was so very helpful...I was able to text him during any hour and he would respond right away. Anytime we needed anything like fresh towels or bed linens, all I had to do was text him and he would make sure we had what we needed in an appropriate amount of time.
The views were amazing! Especially the sunsets! We were able to rent Dennis' boat and he gave us a map of the lake so we were able to find our way around. I took a ton of pictures and once I've gone through them I will post some on the Facebook page for CP&C.
I also want to comment that though the town was small and almost like a ghost town, it was a very cool town with all of the old oil rigs around. Also, every single person we ran into was so friendly, much friendlier than back home! They all gave true meaning to Southern Hospitality! There was a bait shop a few miles down the road from where we stayed and the owners were so friendly, they even offered to take us out fishing on the lake to show us the hot spots! They also served food there (you must try their Boudin Balls and their sweet iced tea). There was also a Mexican restaurant not far from where we stayed that had delicious food, though they didn't have their liquor license yet.
I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing fishing vacation, and I am hoping some day we can return!
We had am amazing stay at this little studio cottage. It was the perfect couples getaway even though this couple has been married 30 years. We had every meal out on the pier. The pier system itself is wonderful. The cypress trees keep it cool even in the heat of the day. The lights on the pier made us able to fish late into the evening. It's a good ways from town so be sure to bring any food you may want. There is a grill and a microwave to prepare some easy meals. We will be back..
