Near Wheaton, MN, the hub of Traverse County MN. We have great fishing right off the dock.
We both graduated from Wheaton in the 80's, moved away and started a successful business in the cities. We are now moving back to the area and plan to retire here. It is a great community and we know many of the local people here, it is so nice to be back home!
We purchased this beautiful cabin a few months ago and have decided to share it's amenities with others that can enjoy it just as much as we do. We are proud parents of 2 beautiful daughters and have been blessed with 4 wonderful grandchildren. Having a business in the cities, we understand the importance of getting away from it all! We will do whatever we can to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Dale and Rhonda Hanson purchased this house in 2015
We chose this property because it is the perfect location for us. We live in Wheaton, so it is minutes to the lake from our home! The fishing on this lake is amazing! We have been catching walleye, northern and bass right off the dock!
We have a gorgeous view of South Dakota from the living room and master bedroom windows! The sunsets are amazing. The property offers 225 feet of lake shore, and plenty of space for vehicles, tents and campers.
Master bedroom has a queen bed
Second Bedroom has two twin beds
Third Bedroom as a bunk bed with a double mattress on the bottom and a twin on top.
The living room also has a single sofa sleeper that sleeps one adult or two children.
In total, the cabin will sleep 10 (if you include someone sleeping on the couch).
The main bathroom has a full shower, bath, double vanity and large linen closet.
The second bathroom is a 1/2 bath with washer and dryer.
The kitchen is very large and open to the dining room. Microwave, dishwasher, stove, oven and full refrigerator.
This room offers an amazing view of South Dakota and the lake shore.
We have Direct TV, a DVD player, WIFi. There is also a breakfast bar with bar stools for extra seating.
The dining room table will seat up to 6, but remember there is also a breakfast bar and stools. The entire house is hardwood floor, so if you have additional guests the living room is also an option.
We have a Southwest view from the lakeside. We have a deck on both sides of the home so you can enjoy both the sunrise and the sunsets!
There is a two car garage available for you to use as well.
Outside the cabin are two patio sets, one on each deck; a infrared heat grill, and a great firepit near the lake to make your s'mores!
Rhonda and Dale were great! We had some questions prior to booking and Rhonda responded quickly. She never made me feel like it was an inconvenience to her.
The lake house was clean and had everything we needed. We cooked a lot so it was great having kitchenware (and trash bags). There was also plenty of clean towels and sheets. It was the perfect size for 7 adults -- we were able to fit in at the kitchen table and counter for meals together, the living room has three couches and accommodated us well, the two bathrooms were definitely a plus as well.
The weather was perfect when were were there, the water was calm and we were able to use the kayaks, canoe and paddle boat. We didn't catch much fish there at lake front but did have some luck at the dam nearby. We also spent some time out on the lawn playing yard games and had a bonfire.
We really enjoyed our stay and we're looking forward to booking again some time in the summer!
We had a really good time there. It was a nice mini vacation. We hope one day to stay there again in the future.
Well organized and set up. Very nice rental great fishing. Couldn't be happier with my stay.
Our second visit to this lake home this year was on Labor Day weekend. I will say that this trip was every bit as good as the July 4th trip. Dale and Rhonda are still super to communicate with. They checked with us more than once to see how things were going and if we needed anything. We did not as everything we needed was already takin care of. Probably the only thing that was a pain was those darn mosquitoes in the morning and evening, but I guess that is what they make repellent for. Everything from my July review below pretty much applies to this trip so I wont repeat myself. I will say that we will be back again in the near future. Thank you Dale and Rhonda for being super host's and we look forward to visiting your lake home again. Jim and Cindy, Columbus NE.
We had a family gathering here during the last week end of August 2016. We had about 20 family members come and enjoy the property with us. We had plenty of room for extra campers/tents that we had stationed around the yard along with the extra lot. It was very nice having a dock right on the property to put the boat in and take out daily. We had ages that ranged from 1yr old on up. With about 10 kids all under the age of 21. With all the space there never was a dull moment with all the room.
Rhonda was very nice and was a pleasure meeting her. She checked in multiple times to make sure all was well. We had a great time and look forward to coming back in the future!
We walked away with nothing bad to say except for the lake being a bit green as we visited so late in the summer.
Thanks again for sharing your piece of paradise with our family.
We had a wonderful stay! The home was very clean and nice and had everything we needed. Unfortunately the ac broke our first night but the owners were quick to attend to it and worked with us to solve the issue. The kayaks were super fun and it was nice not to have to rent them. The kids loved splashing in the water (even though it was green since we were there late in the summer). Nice big kitchen and comfortable beds. Loved being able to do laundry while we were there so we didn't have to pack wet things to bring home. Lots of bugs at night, but it's MN! ;) great communication from Rhonda and both her and Dale were kind and respectful. Very quiet and relaxing and great for a family getaway.
Located on the Minnesota side of Lake Traverse in a relaxed country area on a private road. Tranquil, private
and relaxed setting yet minutes from town. We are located 3 miles from Browns Valley, 15 Miles from Sisseton, SD and the Nicollet Tower and only 20 minutes from Wheaton which is the hub of Traverse County. At the top of Nicollet Tower is viewing area where it is said you can see North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota at one time; you can get a 360 degree view of our Western Minnesota landscape.
The fishing is great right off the dock! Imagine what you can do from the comfort of your own boat. We have a private landing you are welcome to use!
We hope you enjoy your stay here!
