Private suite within an historic double-shotgun style house. 2 Queen size beds plus queen size sleeper-sofa. Microwave, coffee-pot, mini-fridge, 12' ceilings, clawfoot tub, all hardwood floors. Streetcar access is only 1 block away, plus, the apartment is just blocks from Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, the French Market, the Frenchmen Art Market, galleries, eateries, jazz and music venues and of course amazing bars. This is the part of New Orleans that everyone wants to live in and you get to call it your home away from home!
I'm a fairly laid-back and easy going guy. I'm available to my guests as much as they would like--if they want a tour of some of my favorite spots, or recommendations about must-see music, etc., I'd be happy to help. But I also respect and value my guests privacy, so will only do so if asked.
Mike was a great host. The home was located a 15 minute walk to Bourbon street and 10 minutes to Frenchman Street. It was very spacious the pictures do it no justice. I loved the area and home. Would definitely consider this again!
This was a clean property in a great location. My girlfriend and I spent a long weekend here and we each had our own bed and shared the bathroom. We did not rent a car and we walked everywhere and felt very safe. This is a great property if you don't plan to spend much time at the property but just using it for a place to sleep and take a shower. The water pressure was a bit low in the bathroom and it is a typical New Orleans shotgun property (long thin house) which gives you the real New Orleans experience but can be a bit dark inside during the day (which also keeps it cool inside). It exactly met our needs for a place to stay that was in walking distance to all that we wanted to do (if you like to walk which we do), reasonably priced and you are low maintenance which we are. There was a microwave and small fridge but we did not use either and went out to eat for all of our meals. Owner very nice and met us when we arrived and saw us off as well.
I recently stayed here with my girlfriend as a surprise for her birthday. Mike was very accommodating upon our arrival. I don't know enough about the surrounding area to say you have nothing to worry about if you choose to walk home at 4 am, however with that being said at night we chose the $5 UBER was well worth our personal safety in general because I have been to NOLA numerous times and I've heard different stories. During the day you are within 7 minutes walking distance to Bourbon St. and EVERYWHERE. This location in prime time! Mike takes very good care of his property which was evident with how well maintained the property was and how clean everything was from the ceiling fans to the bed sheets. The AC/air circulation within the building was tremendous being able to escape the heat and get a nice fulfilling sleep. The surrounding location is very quiet which was very nice for midday naps. Mike was also very communicative about letting us know that if we need anything just let him know. I will definitely be seeing if this place is available again in the future. 5-STARS!
This property was 100% what we wanted for our first New Orleans adventure. We were a short walk to Frenchman street, Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, so sightseeing and oh yes eating all the foods was simple and stress free. As to the property itself, it was clean, private, cozy, and safe. The property owner Mike was extremely prompt and helpful in all communication. He put us wise to an incredible Blues Trio on Saturday night and sent us on our way with some homemade peanut brittle when we left.
No complaints. The next time we are in the area, we will definitely be checking to see if this place is available.
My house is situated on the edge of the Fauborg Marigny, the French Quarter, and the Treme. It is about 4 blocks either way to Frenchmen or Bourbon Street, and one block from the streetcar, which can take you all over town. There are several restaurants within a 3-4 block walk, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. A fresh bakery and a nice little wine shop are about 2 blocks away. The neighborhood is very close to some of New Orleans' best night-life and entertainment on both Frenchmen Street and in the French Quarter. But it is a safe and quiet, residential neighborhood, so you can rest easy at night!
