Great cabin on perfect Vermont lake

  • 5 of 5

This was a great house for our family of four, we had a perfect stay. Cabin just as advertised, simple, very clean and well equipped for cooking in. On quiet gravel road, 15 minutes to supermarket in town. Private beach access to the lake, a few minute walk away. Awesome porch. No TV (yay!), good internet access. Lake Ninevah is a gem, very little development on it, no motorboats, quiet, great swimming. Kayaks with the house, right at the beach. Great area for hiking and biking. Sharon and Paul were excellent hosts. Hope to be back soon.

So peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a very relaxing week vacation here! The house comes with everything you'll need except the food, of course. It is cozy and comfortable. The porch was the best hangout. The weather was rainy and cool most of the week but it didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. Our dog Barkley loved the lake and all the walks we took exploring the area. Every day we would take a drive and just take in all the beauty of Vermont. Antiquing in Chester, shopping in Weston and Rutland, and just getting lost on country roads added to our fun. We'd love to plan another stay in the winter. Thank you Sharon and Paul for taking such good care of us!

Beautiful area, really close to excellent hiking. Loved sitting on the porch in the evening with our dogs watching the hummingbirds. Our damage protection deposit was refunded even before we got home. Very nice experience!

Vermont log cabin

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cozy cabin near skiing and hiking.

Owner's Response: ***The House Guide Book as well as the details under VRBO says no open fire of any kind. No open fire allow inside the cabin, this also include cigarette butts left inside the waste basket (each trash receptacle is cover with a plastic bag). It does leave a tabacco smell inside the cabin. It can cause a house fire. Please be careful about how & where cigarette are disposed. Thank you.

Beautiful property, great location, with scenic view of lake Nineveh and green mountains. Lovely!

  • 5 of 5

We were so happy at scamper inn. The cabin was perfect for our family of 4. We loved and appreciated all of the little things--games, extra supplies for cooking and toiletries. Even down to a lovely bouquet of flowers. The kids loved walking on the lake which was frozen over. We hope to come back one day!

Summer and fall vacationers have all that Vermont has to offer close at hand. Hiking, biking, horseback riding, tennis, golf, antique & hunting . Swimming, boating and fishing are all to be found on Lake Ninevah, down the block from our front door. There are about 85% of its genuine wilderness shoreline intact. It should be noted that boats with motors of more than five horsepower are not permitted on Lake Ninevah, but we do throw in 2 of our angler kayaks at no extra charge.

For hiking there are Appalachian Trail, Catamount Trail, Vermont Long Trail, Calvin Coolidge State Park & Vermont State Park. Antiguing, Sight Seeing, Walking/hiking, Wildlife Viewing-Bird Watching & Photography.

You will never be bored! Vermont might be a small State but there are so many things to do here! It's magical here!
