This cabin was perfect for our family! Our dogs loved it here, too! Everything was very clean, and it had everything we needed. The owners were very friendly, responsive, and helpful! It was a real getaway! The views were beautiful over the lake. We would definitely come back again!

Nice Location (close to Okemo), Cozy Cottage, Friendly/Responsive Owners

  • 5 of 5

My wife & I were one of two couples who stayed here in February of 2018.

We had a wonderful time. The owners were very responsible, informative (gave us suggestions for sight-seeing, events, etc.) friendly & helpful. We had one minor issue and when we addressed it, it was taken care of immediately. They aren't/weren't far from us and picked up phone right away when we called about it.

The kitchen was decent sized, and the inside was cozy and plenty space for us. It's a cute place, tucked away, quite close to Okemo Mountain resort, nice view.

If I had to give any constructive criticism it might be that for those interested in watching movies/netflix/TV., there wasn't a TV there when we were there. I/we personally didn't mind that much, as for the most part when we're away we like the idea of being away from some technology as well, but I could see how that might be an issue for those who want to settle down after a long day skiing and veg out on the couch with a DVD, etc. There were plenty of board games however, which was nice, and which we'd usually prefer anyways.

Also, we didn't have much of an issue with our Toyota Yaris, but it may have been appropriate to mention beforehand the need for a 4x4 if the conditions were (more) severe. For many, that goes without saying in this region, just a heads-up for those coming from out of town.

We'd easily stay here again.

beautiful lake view

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at Scamper's Inn. It is convenient to skiing and town while feeling away from it all. The cabin had everything we needed as well as many interesting things to look at and games for the kids. Plenty of space for a weekend getaway indoors and out (for the pup to run :) The owner's were gracious and responsive. Thank you!

Wonderful place and great communication from owner

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time with our pooch at this perfect little cabin. The view from the deck was wonderful and the kayaking was perfect, loons were literally popped up 5 feet from me on a perfect morning. The grill is brand new and worked great. The owners reply almost instantly to any request. I look forward to staying in the future.

Autumn & winter vacationers have all that Vermont has to offer close at hand. Hiking, biking, horseback riding, tennis, golf, antique, hunting, snowshoeing & skiing . Swimming, boating and fishing are all to be found on Lake Ninevah, down the block from our front door. There are about 85% of its genuine wilderness shoreline intact. It should be noted that boats with motors of more than five horsepower are not permitted on Lake Ninevah, but we do throw in 2 of our angler kayaks at no extra charge.

For hiking there are Appalachian Trail, Catamount Trail, Vermont Long Trail, Calvin Coolidge State Park & Vermont State Park. Antiguing, Sight Seeing, Walking/hiking, Wildlife Viewing-Bird Watching & Photography.

You will never be bored! Vermont might be a small State but there are so many things to do here! It's magical here!
