Mayflower Cottage By The Bike Path

Bedrooms 3
Separate WC's1
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 - 4 nights

About the property

Three Bedrooms, Two Bathrooms, Free TV & WiFi, Everything Provided For You.

It's been an unusually warm winter of 2016 - 17 with some wonderful guests visiting for the off season. Summer is now upon us, so we're getting this cottage ready for fun. Three bedrooms, a full kitchen, nice living room with TV and WiFi, a back deck for picnics, and a large back yard. There is off-street parking for two cars, and the house is within sight of Falmouth's famous Shining Sea Bike Path.

This house is also walking distance to Falmouth's lively downtown area where many fine and casual restaurants await your pleasure.

Woods Hole is four miles down the road, or about 15 minutes along the Bike Path to the Ferry Terminal where you may take the boat to Martha's Vineyard for work or play. We are a short (5 minute drive) to white sandy beaches on the bay and a fresh water lake at Goodwill Park.

The house is fully equipped for a family of five in three bedrooms. It is walking distance to Falmouth Hospital and the Homeport Office Park, convenience stores, a bank, and a super bagel shop. Suitable for long- or short-term visitors from out of town for a reasonable price. Will consider long-term rates, especially suitable for families of patients at the medical facilities nearby.

The entire house and yard is available with outdoor parking and washer/dryer in the basement. As your hosts, we are available as often as necessary to welcome you, to provide maps, brochures and knowledgeable advice about local businesses, restaurants, and cultural organizations, with which Falmouth is replete - and help you feel at home!

About Sherry J Martin

We've lived in Falmouth for most of our lives, so now we enjoy providing bright, clean living spaces for short- or long-term visitors. We have several properties and will be happy to discuss them with you by phone at (508)527-8272.

We purchased this cottage together for fun and for a project to work on together. It has been so amazing, such fun, and a great way to provide comfortable housing for new friends coming to visit the Cape, winter and summer. Come and enjoy your own kind of vacation on your own terms. The cottage is completely furnished for you. Bring your bathing suits and suntan lotion.

Welcome from Sherry and Christopher

Why Sherry J Martin chose Falmouth

We found this property in need of a total make-over. It was fun and very successful. It's location is great, bike or walking distance to downtown shopping, coffee shops, banking facilities, the hospital and of course, the lovely beaches of Cape Cod. Woods Hole and all its oceanographic institutions and the aquarium is just four miles down the road. Music, arts, theater, and an outstanding curling club and recreational center - all nearby. The Falmouth Road Race and Marathons are all right here!

What makes this cottage unique

The challenge for us was when we discovered that there was a second house on the property way down in the back yard! Well, we knew it was there but it looked like a LOT of work.

And it was! We still have some outside work to do but it's up and running now. If you're interested in taking both cottages together for a larger family gathering, please check our listing for Mayflower Cottage in the Woods. Two bedrooms two bathrooms, sleeps 4+. There's a lovely screened porch in the back yard with gas barbecue for picnic fun.

Everything was perfect. The owner of the property is super nice and the best at her craft of providing an excellent vacation rental experience. Super comfortable, everything I needed and more. I have stayed at alot of VRBO properties in the past 15 years, and this is my favorite!!! I will be staying at this lovely home twice a year forever!!!!!

The best part for us is the opportunity to get acquainted with such wonderful, friendly people. This is a great job and we love it!!! See you soon again, Patrick!

Great home, Sherry was a lovely host.

We really enjoyed the space. It was comforting and there were pleantly of towels. Deck was super nice. Coffee in the kitchen was a great touch. Sherry was kind enough to check on us during our stay. There were a few bugs in the house, but we shooed them away.

Sweet, comfortable house with everything you need and a lovely landlady.

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here for a week in July 2017. It was perfect. The house is comfortable, clean, and equipped with everything you need. The deck is a perfect place for coffee in the morning and evening dinner. Great location. Sherry is a wonderful landlady - friendly, honest, helpful, just delightful. We would stay here again.

Great location, comfortable cottage

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our week at this cottage..it was nice to be able to bring our dog with us. The location is wonderful--close to downtown Falmouth and the bike path. The cottage was comfortable, and clean. One thing it would have been nice to have was a beach pass in the cottage for guests to use..we have had that provided to us as part of the rental from other landlords, but it was not a problem..we found other beaches to use. Charming place to stay!

very well maintained property

  • 4 of 5

We were fortunate to find this property available the last week of the summer right before school started. Sherry was an absolute pleasure to deal with as well as being very informative about the surrounding area. She was also very responsive to any questions and/or concerns we had. We would definitely stay there again.
