Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Deadwood - Alpine Junction

3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8, 2 Bathrooms, Cell Service, Dish Sat. Tv And Internet, WiFi

We are pleased that you might stay with us at our family retreat "Alpine Junction" cabin.

Alpine Junction cabin is conveniently just 1 mile off Hwy 385 in-between Deadwood and Hill City in the heart of the Black Hills. Whether you are in the Hills to enjoy the scenery, see the sites, ski/snowmobile, hike/bike, hunt/fish, gamble or just relax - you've found the perfect spot from which to do it all! There isn't a site to see that's more than an hour away.

We are located a short drive from nearby Terry Peak and Deer Mountain ski areas for winter sports and over 350 miles of snowmobile trails are just 10 minutes away. You'll want to bring your fly fishing rod and/or tackle & poles because our cabin is located around some of best stream and lake fishing in the Dakotas. Great water skiing is a close 8 miles away at Lake Pactola where you can rent boats, canoes and kayaks. For nearby hiking and biking - we are also only 8 miles from the Mystic trail-head and only 10 miles from the Rochford trail-head on the beautiful 109 mile George S. Mickelson Trail. Great golfing is available at Lead Country Club [Lead], Tomahawk Lake Country Club [Deadwood], Meadowbrook Golf Course [Rapid City], Elkhorn Ridge Golf Club [Spearfish] and Rocky Knolls Golf Course [Custer]. If indoor sports are more your game (gaming/gambling and fine dining) Deadwood is only 19 miles up Highway 385.

Our cabin is nestled on a hillside above a scenic valley with a meandering creek below. Only 1 mile off Highway 385 west on the Rochford Road on Alpine Acres Drive. The 1 acre property features a large circular drive with parking area that can accommodate multiple vehicles including smaller RVs, trailers (ATV/snowmobile/boat/motorcycles) and several automobiles and/or motorcycles.

A wide bridge leads from the circular drive onto the double-width wrap around covered deck overlooking the creek and valley below. The entryway leads into the vaulted ceiling living room with sleeper sofa, recliner, flat screen TV (DVD/Dish) with fireplace and ceiling fan. There are two bedrooms off the living rooms both featuring queen size beds with closets - one which features full bath with tub/shower combo and heated towel rack. The family room is located down the circular metal stairway and features a large wood-burning stove with charming brick wall, couch, chair with ottoman and wall mounted flat screen TV with DVD. The dining area features a large round glass topped table that seats six (4 TV trays area also available). The fully stocked kitchen features a dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, oven, microwave and coffee maker. There is also a separate electric turkey oven for your Thanksgiving delight. A third bedroom with full size bed and closet is off the family room. A downstairs utility room features pantry, washer/dryer, vanity with sink, shower and toilet. There are two doors (one full glass sliding) leading from the family room out onto the covered porch area featuring seating area, porch swing and gas grill.

If the beautiful scenery and abundance of outdoor activities don't suit (or it's raining) we have plenty of entertainment options available. Games, cards and dominoes are available for your use. Additionally there are two big flat-screen TV’s with DISH satellite service and DVR, 2 DVD players and plenty of DVDs for your viewing pleasure. Satellite internet with WiFi is available. Cell service is now present if you have AT&T networking or can piggyback off of AT&T towers.

Hillside Creek Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We spent 6 wonderful days at this cabin. This trip took months of planning since the objective was for us to meet our daughter and son n law there for some good motorcycle riding. They drove from Arizona and we drove from Minnesota. We needed enough parking area for our vehicles and trailers. After a phone conversation with Mr. Becker and the use of our computer using video maps of the area we could see it would work for us. The day we arrived, I could see that the pictures of the rental property on the VRBO website were exactly as shown and described. So, from that point on, it was 5 days of riding thru the Black Hills and seeing some of the most beautiful sights. This cabin (actually a home) is furnished with everything one needs to exist. A couple of items of interest was the washer and dryer. One almost has to be a rocket scientist to use them. But, once you have them figured it is a breeze to do the laundry. Those 2 items does everything except for folding the clothes. Don't let yourself get caught up watching the washer. Even tho the internet was down and computer usage was limited everything worked out perfect. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Cool mornings, warm in the evening and cool at night. Best sleeping weather! The nights were quiet while we sat out back and made plans for the next days ride. We didn't need to use either of the fireplaces with the cool breeze at night. Just open the window and let the dreams begin. This is the perfect property to stay at. It is located in the middle of everything. Breakfast in the morning and a nice dinner at night. What more could one ask for?

We left there Saturday June 25th and received our damage deposit refund on July 5th. I do believe that is pretty quick.

I will recommend this rental property to everyone who wants to visit the Black Hills. In fact, we will be planning more trips there in the coming years. Still a lot of sights to see from the motorcycle.

Very nice home

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days at this rental. Home is just like it looks in the pictures. The house was clean, had plenty of bath and bed linens. Very quiet area, never heard

or seen the neighbors. Loved sitting on the porch just taking in the view. Owner answered all my questions and I received

my deposit back 2 weeks after check out. The house is in a secluded area so you have to drive for stores, restaurants.

Ate at Saloon 10 twice in Deadwood. Excellent food and homemade cheesecake. The house had everything we needed.

There were grocery items available for use in fridge and pantry. We used both fireplaces several times and there was

plenty of firewood in back yard. Stayed May 2016, plenty of room for the 6 of us.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Well kept cabin in a great location for the ATV trails. 1 mile away from a major trailhead heading towards Nemo, and multiple great trails towards Rochoford. Cousins pizza, Sugar shack, and moonshine gulch saloon are all close. I'd stay at this cabin again.
