Owner/Property Manager purchased this cabin in 2015
We have family that settled in this area 2 generations ago. We enjoy the distinct seasons and the variety of activities that these seasons offer.
Cabin is located on the banks of the Kootenai River where you can sit on the back deck watching and listening to the river flow as well as being able to look around to mountain views. We are especially blessed to have varied wildlife frequent the property ( big horn sheep, white tail deer, turkeys, pheasants, and bald eagles.)
Would recommend this cabin to anybody at any time of year. The view is beautiful, and one feels at home immediately. Loved this place!
Spectacular setting on the banks of the beautiful Kootenai River just west of Libby, MT. The short drive from town to the cabin is scenic and offers abundant wildlife viewing - turkeys, deer, and numerous big horn sheep along the road or in adjacent yards. You are minutes from town but are truly in a lovely remote setting of very nice river homes and as you are on a dead end road there is very little traffic.
This cabin construction is "first class", is fully furnished, everything from appliances to the furniture is of the highest quality. When you walk into this cabin and look out at the river from the living room and kitchen area all you can think is "Wow - I don't ever want to leave here!" It is as nice as it gets.......... Everything was spotless!
The BNSF Railway (ex Great Northern Railway) tracks run across the river and we enjoyed watching the trains during the day, and the lights from them at night. Sounds were never intrusive to us.
The owners also live in a home on the same acreage, are wonderful and accommodating to renters needs. I highly recommend this rental if you are visiting Libby on a vacation or for other personal reasons. You will not regret it.
And of course do not miss breakfast at the Libby Cafe - an experience you will not forget.
We enjoyed the cabin very much!! Pleasantly surprised how nice it was. Would recommend this cabin for anyone!!
We found Carlson's Cove on VacationRentals.com and it was start to finish pretty perfect. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful with anything that we needed. We have a lot of family in the Libby area especially around the time that we rented the cabin because we had a family wedding, and we loved that everyone could come out and visit us seeing that we had made the trip over from Michigan. Pretty much the only way to describe our whole experience is "PERFECT" and we will definitely be keeping this place on our tops for any future trips that we take to this area.
Well, we were there for a memorial service but our stay at the cabin was absolutely Amazing. The owners were very helpful and occomodating. The cabin exceeded our expectations, the wildlife right outside our door was breathtaking, we will definitely be back on another occasion.
Thank you so much for everything, The McIntosh's

In addition to the hiking, biking, and water activities you can see the local wildlife as they stroll through the cabin property - big horn sheep graze in the yard quite frequently as well as white tail deer and wild turkeys. Ducks, geese, and bald eagles frequent the shores of the river. Black bears occasionally feast on our apple trees and moose might quench their thirst in the river.
