Come home to "Chez moi Chez toi" which truly means "My house, Your house". This beautiful French two story home offers the best of the bayou. The home is set on 1.5 acres with mature Live Oak trees and Pecans. The house features a covered dock, boat ramp and 150' on scenic Bayou Liberty.
You will feel at home in this beautifully restored Louisiana Home. The house features a brand new kitchen, an open floor plan and an original fireplace in the main living area. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms and an adjoining bathroom with the original claw foot bathtub. Each of the bedrooms opens out onto a balcony that overlooks the bayou. There is an additional full bathroom with laundry area on the main floor. There are porches off of every room in the house and there is a beautiful screened in porch off of the kitchen with a BBQ and outdoor dining area. You will enjoy beautiful bayou views from every part of this home.
The location is what truly makes this home perfect. While you can enjoy fishing, crabbing, or bayou cruising in your backyard, you are only 25 minutes from New Orleans. By boat, the house is located just 5 minutes from Lake Pontchartrain and is perfect for a sunset cruise or trout fishing. Come home to the bayou and a taste of Louisiana!
My husband, four children and I live near this house on the bayou. I grew up in this area and we own a seafood market and restaurant 2 miles from the home. My father has been a commercial fisherman my whole life and the house fits perfectly into our lifestyle. The bayou is a way of life for us. My children love to pass by the house after school and check the crab traps or do a little fishing. The house is located next to St. Genevieve Catholic Church. It is such a unique church because it is also situated directly on the bayou. My children love to take the boat to church and enjoy the scenic bayou.
Aimee Cappy purchased this house in 2005
I have loved this property for years. I would pass the house by boat and admire the beautiful live oak trees and the peaceful setting. Properties are rarely for sale on this historic bayou because most of the homes are inherited through family. We were so fortunate to be able to purchase this home in 2005 and we have lovingly restored it. The house is also located on a private road with only one other house. It is truly a retreat.
The house was amazing and so were the views of the bayou. Thanks so much . The Knapp family
It is a rustic house with all the aminites of the new world. Beautiful property for relaxing, cooking, and fishing. Many places to eat that are local. Downtown New Orleans or the Mississippi gulf coast are about the same distance(25 mins). The only reason I gave 4 stars is the house does not cool well. The system works great but the thermostat is downstairs so it is a little hard to get the temp right. For the price it can't be beat.
I stayed there for my wedding weekend. My family and I prepped there and my husband and I stayed there for our wedding night. The property is BEAUTIFUL! Picturesque! Very relaxing. We plan on returning for our anniversary.
The house is beautiful. It is large, well equipped, clean, and in the most amazing location with the bayou at the bottom of the garden. Everything you could possibly want is provided. We really loved it. We also had a lovely welcome basket from the hosts which really started our stay with big smiles. The decor is clever and well put together. I would happily return and I am happy to recommend this location to everyone
Just as it appears in the pics. A beautifully decorated, fully stocked home away from home. We didn't want to leave, very comfortable and just what we were looking for. 5 stars!
This property is the perfect place for a vacation. The house has so much charm and the surroundings are enchanting. We spent as much time outdoors as in - relaxing on one of the decks, fishing off the dock, watching the full moon rise over the bayou. Inside, the kitchen is very well stocked and easy to cook in, the beds are very comfy, and the living room is a great place to relax. If you like seafood, you have GOT to go to the owner's seafood store/restaurant (Kenney's Seafood). The seafood is the best! We were so impressed that we loaded up a cooler of seafood and dry ice to take back to Wisconsin at the end of our stay! And the proximity to New Orleans can't be beat - an easy drive to enjoy all the sights and sounds of the city and an easy drive back to relax at this beautiful house. Highly recommended!
