Sleeps 8, Shared Pool and Tennis, Close to Beach, Golf and a great Town

3 Bedroom duplex apartment sleeps 6 in bedrooms and 2 on a sofa bed in the living room. Modern (built 2006), well equipped and on a very highly rated development with a great swimming pool and tennis.

For our English guests, we have UK TV.

Just 10 min walk from La Cala de Mijas - one of the few towns on the Costa del Sol that has a level underpass for the N340 (no need to risk life and limb dashing over this busy road or to climb endless steps over bridges) - which has all the facilities you might need on your visit including supermarkets, restaurants, banks, bars, cafes and a beautiful sandy beach with safe swimming.

Convenient for many golf courses, the closest of which is La Noria (9 hole, 18 hole and driving range).

40km west of the airport at Malaga, on a well kept, gated development, this duplex apartment has secure parking, fresh decor, fully fitted kitchen, hot/cold air conditioning, great views from the large terrace and a peaceful location - no drunk crowds keep you awake at night here.

Offered on a self catering basis, ideal for families

We use a great local agent, LCS Management (English and Spanish speaking), who will help with pretty much anything that you need any help with. The apartment will be clean and tidy on your arrival and you can just up and go on departure day.

The town of La Cala de Mijas is a wonderful place. As well as a great beach (with a long promenade), there are 3 supermarkets (Aldi, Lidl, Super Sol & Mercadona), plenty of restaurants, parks and playgrounds, cafes, bars and a famous cabaret venue. There is a large market a couple of days a week too. La Cala is also one of the few towns along the coast that seems to have money to spend on the infrastructure. New parks, new things on the beach, the lovely new promenade walk and more. It is a thriving town and a nice place to be.

There are several very high quality restaurants in the town, including a new one from May 2015 called The Little Geranium which is run by a chef that has owned a Michelin Star winning restaurant in the UK previously.

The beach side walkway stretches from La Cala right to Cabopino. It is very accessible for walking, pushchairs, wheelchairs, scooters, bicycles etc. Level and well constructed in concrete and wood, it is an easy path with beautiful scenery, loads of cafes and bars and runs right along the beach.

New for 2015, this is a major attraction on the Costa del Sol. Already people are coming from miles around to La Cala to enjoy the lovely walk along the coast. A must see.

Why Jonathan Powell chose Mijas area

We spent a lot of time looking at a lot of developments before settling on this one. We chose La Cala as it is very nice, clean and friendly town with great amenities. The Navigolf development is out of the town centre, quiet, secure, family friendly and fully occupied. The gardens and pool are in great condition and there is a nice balance of locals and tourists living on the development.

The apartment is well equipped and an easy place to stay. Full kitchen, en suite bathroom, UK TV and a very large terrace to sit out in the sun. The communal pool is large and has beautiful gardens around it.

Easy to find and just 40km from the airport.

What makes this apartment unique

One of the few places on the coast where you can cross the N340 coast road easily - by underpass rather than by bridge. The underpass is a nice route into town, safe at all times and with well kept flower beds etc.

La Cala is a wonderful place for a holiday - so much so that many people return year after year.

We found some reasonably cheap flights into Malaga, booked this apartment and off we went! The apartment is lovely - very nicely equipped. English TV was nice to have for us to keep up with the soaps (sad I know!). The town is nice and there are some great restaurants. We had a great time. The agent, Val, is very helpful too, even though it was the holiday period, she organised us a hire car very quickly and very cheaply.

Great location, immaculately clean too!

This apartment is very conveniently situated in a new complex a couple of minutes drive from Mijas Costa town. The complex is gated and feels very secure. A 5-10 minute walk across scrubland (easy to walk paths) gets you to the local Lidl and Aldi shops for supplies too.

The flat itself is beautifully clean and fresh. The bedroms, a king and two twin rooms were perfect for our needs as our little grandson could have his own room! The lounge, kitchen and large patio are great areas too, and the kitchen is well equipped.

Unfortunately nobody informed us that the onsite pool closes at the end of August. That was the reason we chose to stay at this apartment so we were really disappointed, obviously. There are no public pools within easy driving distance and local hotels don't allow day guests so we bought a paddling pool for the patio. Hardly the same as a lovely big fresh water pool though!

This would have been a five star experience for a family for whom a pool was not a very important part of their holiday enjoyment.

Unfortunately didn't get an opportunity to stay

Booked this apartment on 10 August 2015 and paid the deposit through BACS as requested for 9 Aug to 16 Aug 2016.

On 28 July 2016 I attempted to pay the remainder only to be told my booking was cancelled, a mere 12 days before six of us were due to travel. Had it not been that I made contact I sincerely doubt I would have been informed.

The deposit was refunded with nothing more that a 'sorry'.

At such short notice we were very fortunate to get another apartment as the Costa Del Sol is very busy at present.

I'm sure the apartment is lovely however if you are considering booking please get some form of insurance on it.

Perfect and booked for next year

I have stayed on the complex before but at a different apartment. The apartment was clean, tidy and had everything we needed for a family of 5. I had exchanged emails with the owner prior and he responded in a timely fashion. We picked the keys up from Val (the property agent) with no issue. The apartment is on the top tier of the complex but having stayed here before I knew about the stairs to the pool and don't cause us any issues.

The villa is very reasonable and we have booked again for next year.

Lovely property in a perfect location

We spent a week at this property . We are a family and found this place perfect for our needs. A pleasant five minute walk into town and a couple of minutes further to the lovely beach. A great location for shops too a few minutes walk over some scrub land to a Lidl and a five minute walk down the hill and onto the main road to a Aldi.

The Duplex itself was very well described . There is air con throughout so if you are there when it's baking as we were it's lovely after a few hours at the beachor pool to come back and relax with a cool drink. The cupboards were well stocked , maybe by previous guests but having salt , pepper etc there made life easier. We ate in a little and also ate out at the fantastic choice of restaurants in the town.

The pool was always quiet and the residents very friendly.

The view from the large balcony were beautiful and a joy of an evening with a nice glass of wine in hand.

I would love to re visit this duplex and the town and would not hesitate to recommend.

Lovely clean house in good location

The house is in a good location up the hill behind Lidl in La Cala, right next to Navigolf. It's a bit of a walk from the centre of town, but quite enjoyable as long as you like walking, and it's easily accessible by car. There is a shortcut over the hills to near Lidl and the walkway over the main road, or you can take the roads to the big La Cala roundabout under the main road.

The house itself has everything you could need, apart from wifi, and we also couldn't find a hairdryer. There are great views of the mountains, and you can see the sea from the terrace. The area is very quiet as it is a small residential complex.

Jonathan replied quickly to my emails, and with his agent Val being easily contacted by phone in Spain, everything was great! I will definitely consider staying here again in the future. Highly recommended.

We are a large family with children aged between 2yrs and 12yrs who had the pleasure of renting this property August 2015. The apartment is perfect for a family. It is very well equipped, very spacious and in an excellent location. The view from the balcony is stunning. We tended to eat in and the kitchen and dining facities were beyond adequate for doing so. There is airconditioning in all living and bedrooms which was very welcome. It is a short walk to town (10min) and to local supermarkets Aldi and Lidl (7min). The walk back is uphill but we had no difficulties with pram or younger children. The pool area is beautiful and never very busy so easy to watch if you have children in both pools. There is also a lifeguard at all times. The grounds are very well looked after. La Cala although very small has everything. There are a few small play areas for children and whilst there there was a lovely display of spanish dancing by the l.ocal children. The owner Jonathan was very easy to deal with and we hope to return again. Anyone who stays in this apartment will not be disappointed.

The terrace is 37 m² and faces south easterly. The view is to the sea to the south and to the hills to the north and overlooks a golf course. On the development there is a great swimming pool, a kids paddling pool, 2 paddle tennis courts. Overall the mix on the development is a good balance of locals and others living here full time and holiday makers - the traffic is low and its a safe environment. The whole development is gated with restricted access so it is as safe as they come. The local town is a few minutes walk and has all the facilities you might need: supermarkets, beach, bars, restaurants, taxi rank etc. etc. Our agent lives locally and she is very helpful with all matters and has stacks of useful knowledge about the whole area.
