100+ year-old church refurbished to a home. Very spacious. Kitchen is an 18x18 sf room with big windows for viewing the beautiful countryside. Propane forced air propane heat. Formal dining area, large living area with corner office space. Bedroom is on second level of what was the choir loft. Lots of windows for light with blackout blinds perfect for watching movies. All the modern conveniences in this quaint, secluded community. This is truly one of a kind.
We fell in love with this church because it is truly a church in the prairie reflecting that of yesteryear.
Les and Candi have created a tranquil oasis in the vast expanse of South Dakota. The church home is wonderful, comfortable, livable and just quirky enough to appeal to me and my wife. We hung out on the back deck and watched a big midwestern sky full of clouds, took drives on country roads lined with pheasant and red winged black birds, and eat kutchen, the South Dakota State desert. Try the rhubarb! It takes imagination to figure out what to do up here, which is perfect. Shaw Creak, over on the Missouri River, has a great hike. Eureka is small and friendly, with enough services, and a great community lake with a beach. We found an art show in a park in Aberdeen and visited the Cathedral on the Plains. It is a wetland and bird paradise and the grasslands waive in the wind like a giant sea. The photographic opportunities are world class and the sense of serenity very restorative. Two great TV's keep you entertained if you wish. I turned one on to catch the news and two minutes later decided to sit out on the deck, enjoy a drink with my wife, and look at the big South Dakota sky. Perfect!
The church is located on the west side of town but is within 1 mile of all the town's attractions.
