absolutely stunning

If this rental is available during your stay then I highly recommend it. I stayed here for 7 nights and it was amazing. It is very close to town and some days I made 4 trips back and forth without even hesitating.

There are a lot of roosters in Sayulita so pack ear plugs but otherwise enjoy every moment of the views and beauty of this rental and town!

Great place

Greg your place is absolutely beautiful loved the turtles. Only thing is that the hill is brutal and not for someone with mobility issues. Would absolutely stay in Greg's place again. The shower is amazing gorgeous view from it. Sorry we were not able to meet up with you. Jose was awesome let us leave our luggage with him and we were able to explore till able to check in. Thank you. Larry and Elaine Stork Eastend Saskatchewan Canada

Hilltop casa

  • 5 of 5

The casita at 36 Bugambilias in Sayulita is spacious, clean and staffed with a friendly young couple. Our only caution relates to its location at the top of a very steep hill. Some people would have difficulty with the climb. However, the view from the casita is worth it! We highly recommend this casa and the town of Sayulita

Amazing View. Simple. Everything you need

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent around 2.5 weeks here on a "workation", working remotely in the mornings and playing in the afternoons and evenings. The internet is adequate and more or less reliable to work full time. It did tend to go out around noon and in the evenings for short periods of time (less than 10mins at a time). A solid 8-9m down and around 1m up..the upload speed was pretty inconsistent, though. The views are simply amazing, the space is fantastic, and its a pretty comfortable place to hang out and work. The video and pictures are great and true to form, but what I didn't realize is that this place is on the top of a hill...all by itself in a compound of a few buildings (including the awesome tiled dome) with exquisite landscaping and vegetation, and yes awesome turtles. It's at the end of a quiet street that gets no traffic. This fact, in itself, is very very awesome and quite unique to the area.

Some reviews mention "the hill" you have to walk up, and although it is super steep, its very short and quite doable. It also pretty much guarantees that you're not going to get any unwanted company wandering into your open air kitchen/living space.

Some reviews mention the rooster noise...yes, it does sound like a rooster screaming party every morning. It will either get old or you'll get used to it, but the bedroom blocks it out fairly well especially if you have all the doors closed and AC on. There is also a massive amount of construction and all the noise that goes with it around Sayulita these days. This is also just how the south side of Sayulita is- loud and busy and you'll get that noise pretty much any where on that side of town.

That being said, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great view and awesome room.

The views are great from every window in the room. The kitchen area was amazing and very relaxing and romantic. The location is perfect.. close to town, but far enough to get away and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Beautiful Place, Great Views, 5 min walk to town square

  • 5 of 5

This place was fantastic! We loved the view, both from kitchen/lounge area and from the balcony. We could even see the ocean from the extremely comfortable bed. Kitchen was handy, and includes utensils, plates, etc. Bath and beach towels included as well as two large comfy pillows each. Our host was a very cool guy, easy to reach if we needed something, and quick to respond. For us, in our mid-30s, this place was perfect, but for those who aren't in the best shape or have mobility issues, this may not be the place for you...that hill is no joke! Course one can rent golf carts in Sayulita, in which case you have the equivalent of two flights of steps up to the unit. Highly recommended, this spot does not disappoint!

About Greg Schilling

I retired to Mexico 10 years and decided to build a rental because I had the space.

Why Greg Schilling chose Sayulita

This property had such an awesome white water view, where you could see the surfers from your bedroom. If you bring binoculars you can whales watch from the veranda while sipping a margarita.

What makes this house unique

Palapa roof covering the kitchen/dinning area. Bathroom is done in hand quarried, hand laid stone. You can see the jungle out through the port hole of the shower but no one can see you The floor is vintage hand made tiles. The bedroom closes off so you can run the air conditioner when it gets hot. You get a great feeling of privacy in this spot. Very romantic.
