We enjoyed our stay immensely! The condo was beautiful and it was located right by the hot tub which made it easy for us to cook dinner while watching our kids in the pool. It was also easy to access the beaches that were about ten minutes away in Mexico beach. The water at the beach was perfect and the beaches were well kept. Also, I did not miss the traffic of Panama City or Destin. The only problem we had was that the cable was on the fritz. We also could not find the tv remote so we could not watch any DVDs. Thanks for the stay. We had a blast.
Just the perfect vacation get away! Great location and surroundings and my pup loved the stairs. Walk outside to the pool no need for cooler! I can't say enough great things about this place! Loved everything about it
My husband and I rescue dogs. A friend of ours had posted on Facebook about three small dogs getting left behind in a rental property. The listing agent in Port St. Joe just so happened to find them and take them in, until she could found them a home. We choose to cancel our vacation trip to Orange Beach and make a trip to Port St. Joe to rescue these dogs. We arrived at the Cottages on a Sunday. Check in was 4:00 pm, so we already lost a day there. We brought our big fur baby a boxer (which was on my reservations) Wednesday evening we meet the lady with the dogs, brought them to our cottage. Keep them in a cage (because they were scared to death) only let them out to do their business. The neighbors beside us where residence (smoked all day on their porch and it smelled terrible walking by) and they called and complained twice that our dogs were using the bathroom everywhere and they were running around the entire community. Which was a complete lie because they were scared to even walk down the steps much less farther than our front porch. We always cleaned up after them. So on Thursday Elizabeth came to our condo, wasn't happy at all. Said she was going to charge us $150 fee for having them there. She didn't ask any neighbors around us if they had even seen our dogs or poop anywhere! Our reservations were to check out on Friday, upon loading the car the cleaning people showed up at 9:40am to clean! So we lost another day and had to rush out (with my 80 year old grandmother we brought with us)! Needless to say we will NEVER be back. I must say we absolutely loved it up until Thursday! We discussed coming back the following year and bring several family members but, how the way they handled it was uncalled for and not professional! There were people in the pool past time every single night, people drinking at the pool late at night, a lady screaming at her husband we could hear all the way in our room. But, we choose to put 3 small dogs ( all under 8lbs) in a crate for 24 hours and we were the bad guys!
Ideal vacation spot for my teenage children, my dogs, and me. Peaceful and quiet but with people around... Lots of local beaches and pleasant drives to each one. We watched fireworks from St Joe Beach and got to see both the ones from Mexico Beach and the ones from Port St. Joe. We loved the beaches at Cape San Blas and at the Park at the end of Cape San Blas... But we spent most of our time at Salinas Park and even swam within feet of dolphins there. The only issue we had (which I rated them a five anyway because I am sure they would have rectified the issue if I had mentioned it) was the fold out bed was missing sheets... Can't wait to visit again soon!!!
Family of 5 + 1 "Grammie" recently visited Unit B24 at Barefoot Cottages. Our impressions are that the location exceeds expectations, as you have the pool/hot tub right there at your front door. The beaches at St. Joe Bay are easily accessible, as are Cape San Blas, Mexico Beach and many more. We even took a quick day trip over to Apalachicola and St. George Island, including a GREAT lunch at the Owl Cafe in Apalachicola. The cottage itself is spacious, spotlessly clean, and decorated in a manner that is beachy/relaxed, without going to the usual tropes of too much color and so forth.
Exceeding all of this is the outstanding service you'll receive from Coastline Vacation Rentals and their agent, Elizabeth. During our stay, we had a small problem with a "sticky" dishwasher button, rendering the appliance temporarily unwilling to do its job. Though this is clearly a "first world" problem, Elizabeth and the team responded better, more personally, and more quickly than many MUCH more pricey properties we've stayed with, having the item immediately fixed, tested and back in commission.
Bottom-line, there's a WOW factor here. Wow, this is a great value. Wow, this is how I remember Florida being. Wow, this is a nice property. WOW, somebody working with me and my family REALLY cares. You should check it out. I guarantee you'll be back.
