About Nick & Sheri Larson

My wife and I have both lived in the area for over thirty years and we still love it here in spite of all the rain. We have a large family with six adult children and eleven grandkids. There is never a dull moment around the Larson house.

Nick & Sheri Larson purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Nick & Sheri Larson chose Forks

We lived across the highway from this cabin over twenty years ago and rented a small cottage that is no longer standing. During the summer months we can walk downstream to the next river bar where we used to roast hotdogs and marshmallows with our kids over twenty years ago. One family of our old neighbors still live there.

What makes this cabin unique

We can see the Sol Duc river flowing by without going outside. There is a beautiful view of the river from the living room window and the kitchen window as well.

Cute cabin near Forks

  • 4 of 5

This was a great place to spend a family weekend close to nature. We used the kitchen to prepare meals and the king sized bed was very comfortable. This was home base for exploring Rialto Beach, Hoh Rain Forest and Olympic National Park. We loved the diversity of nature's treasures nearby.

The cabin is very close to the road, but there was not much traffic noise. The combined grocery/hardware store in Forks had everything we needed.

Peaceful, cozy and perfectly located!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Hidden Duc! The cabin is beautiful, well stocked, comfortable bed, amazing shower, and perfectly situated right on the river. It is also a fantastic location to go see the sites (we did Rialto Beach, Hoh Rain Forest, La Push) and to scope out fishing locations. The owners are wonderful, so kind and thoughtful! The only drawback was the road noise from some bridge repairs being conducted, but we are hopeful when we come back (which we intend to do) that the bridge will be repaired and that will be a thing of the past. All in all, we loved it and plan to return!

Cozy and clean but close to a major highway

  • 4 of 5

Overall we loved the small and quaint cottage like building. The nearby rainforest and hiking on beaches were lovely. The main reason I can't give this five stars is the location is right on a major highway and the road noise kept us awake most of the night. I imagine that the noise varies with the time of year and perhaps over the labor day weekend traffic was especially high. We came to forks for peace and quiet so it was a little disappointing as we thought from the pictures of this property that it was more remote.

Cute and lots of privacy, having the sol duc river so close is awesome!

  • 4 of 5

The house is just really cute and little. It had great air conditioning which was a bonus, and the bed was a pretty comfortable king and the place was clean. The kitchen has everything you need, and don't forget to bring your fishing rods because it was really nice spending the afternoon fishing on that river. We only caught tiny trout but i think it was because its very late in the summer and the water levels seem extremely low right now.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for staying. We are finally getting some much needed rain today. Hoping the river comes up a bit so we can hook a salmon or two!

Comfortable cabin.

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable cabin, well stocked, in a great location for hiking. We used the cabin for a home base for hiking on the north and west sides of the Olympic Peninsula. Bed was comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, wifi and Netflix worked well, washer/dryer was a plus. Loved looking out at the river while doing dishes. River access was great for soaking tired feet after a hike.
