About Lisa Van Laanen

Moved from WI many years ago and fell in love with the desert and the sunshine. We have enjoyed the fun and exciting vibe of Tempe for over 20 years. In 2015 decided to build the addition and are so pleased to be able to share it with others. Interests vary and change but headlines are ... traveler, grateful community server, avid hiker, lapsed golfer and minority owner of an NFL team.

Why Lisa Van Laanen chose Tempe

Central Tempe has been a wonderful neighborhood to live in. It's quiet and friendly but easy to get to the fun activities of downtown. Tempe is a great urban city with a community feel.

What makes this apartment unique

The privacy of the casita is perfect for those looking to enjoy the area but have a comfortable efficient home base.

Great Apartment in Tempe

  • 5 of 5

The property owner, Lisa, is wonderful and helpful! We stayed for 3 weeks. You are within walking distance(friendly neighborhood) to several restaurants, coffee shops, 2 grocery stores & mass transit if needed. The kitchen is well stocked with the basics you need for cooking, beautiful and efficiently designed space and the bathroom is spacious. Days were full of golf, baseball and hiking and we really looked forward to our peaceful casita each evening. Appreciated Lisa's quick response to all emails. We have already reserved for next year!

Wonderful Place to Stay in Tempe

  • 5 of 5

The casita is a wonderful place to stay in a very convenient part of Tempe. The neighborhood is very quiet and within walking distance to two grocery stores, a nice coffee shop, and the Tempe library. Within a five minute walk you have access to the free neighborhood circulator bus that goes to downtown Tempe and ASU.

The pictures make this casita look too good to be true, but the casita really is exactly as it looks in the pictures. It had everything I needed for a long term stay, including a washer and dryer and a fully stocked kitchenette.

The owner, Lisa, is extremely nice and responsive. I would absolutely recommend the Tempe Little Casita to anyone looking for a great stay in Tempe.

Comfy and Cozy in Tempe Casita

  • 5 of 5

Our experience from securing a reservation to checking out after a 5 month stay went very smoothly. Our land lady was so welcoming and so helpful...giving directions to great places to hike, museums, recreation centers, etc. Grocery store and Wal-Mart are with-in walking distance. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly and safe for walking. The Casita's lay out has been very well thought through. The space is used very efficiently. I would come back and stay, except we ended up moving to AZ from MI :)

Cozy Casita

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed in Lisa's casita for a week in December 2015 and LOVED it. As soon as we walked in we knew this would be a great place to stay. The casita is organized and decorated beautifully; the space feels spacious and makes you forget it's a studio. The kitchen had the essentials, the bed was very comfortable, and the linens were soft. The area was quiet and safe, but you will need a car to get around. We also loved that Lisa has a washer/dryer in the casita, it's really nice to travel back home with clean clothes instead of having a suitcase full of dirty clothes.

We have absolutely zero hesitancy in recommending Lisa's casita and would love to stay again. You would be crazy to pass this place up.

The place was really nice and in great neighborhood. The owner was close by and she is super nice.

I could walk to fry's and get my groceries. I could also walk to several restaurants and fast-food places too.

Regarding the quality of the place, I should say that what you see in the pictures is what you get. I loved it.
