The house kitchen is stocked with spices and all the cooking wares you need to whip up tasty meals. If you stay within the growing season feel free to harvest from the garden or orchard.
The hot springs district is less than a 10 minute walk away. Elephant Butte Lake State Park is a 10 minute drive and a park pass is provided with the rental.
I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and moved out west when I was 18. I have lived in Utah, Oregon, Alaska, Texas, Montana, and now New Mexico. I am a wildlife biologist for the Forest Service and wake up every day excited to go to work. I love sharing my passion for ecology with others so feel free to geek out with me. I also love traveling myself. I do at least one trip abroad a year. Oh, and if you are a climber and need a partner while you are in town...I'm your girl!
Emily Jencso purchased this bungalow in 2014
Why on earth did I buy property in T or C!! Well, have you looked at the photos of the place! This little adobe homeWhy on earth did I buy property in T or C!! Well, have you looked at the photos of the place! This little adobe home is a slice of heaven. I am currently living in the trailer also on the property and fixing it up. I spent the past 6 months working on the adobe and now am working on the yard and trailer. Things may have changed from the the yard! The home is definitely quaint and charming!
Close to the river and lake, awesome birding, feels secluded, great night sky, great place to just RELAX.
We enjoyed everything about the house. It was well stocked and spotlessly clean. There was a large fenced in yard which was great for our dog.Nice quiet area close to the River and the hot springs. We would definitely stay here again.
My hubby and I really enjoyed our stay at Emily's property. It was very comfortable for us and our two small dogs. The kitchen was stocked and made cooking at the property very enjoyable. It is close to Riverbend bath house, which we also enjoyed.
Emily is so organized and her binder of local information is thorough and helpful. The house is beautifully painted and very New Mexico. The porch and backyard are perfect for sitting outside and enjoying a Southwestern evening. Her kitchen is great to cook in and is stocked with the necessities like spices and pans of different sizes. The proximity to the hot springs and Elephant Butte is another perk.
This little house is the quintessential adobe from the 40s! It is decorated with style and flair. We totally enjoyed our time there: amazing places to eat in town, sitting on the front porch sipping coffee, the soaks at Riverbend (right around the corner), watching the birds (SO many) and hanging out by the fire pit with a beer, Emily and Emily's loaner dog Kiowa. Charming in every way!
