Worth what we paid for it. Will stay again!

  • 4 of 5

Over all a good stay. Only complaints are. We could hear the people in the camp ground next door. We were laying in bed in the loft and could hear people talking. Luckily there was a fan that we turned on. Also, the driveway is very hard to see at night. Some reflective driveway markers would help! The cabin was clean and well stocked. The deck on the river was superb!! We ate breakfast there two mornings. One other note. The loft is not for older people! The stairs are very steep! Access to the river is also very steep.

Very Peaceful and Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

The cabin on the river is quite a treat. Even though you are next to a campground it was still very peaceful. The hot tub does not work but we knew that ahead of time. The cabin is very spacious with a king bed in the loft. Washer and dryer is a major plus. So was WiFi. The owners went out of their way to make our stay a success even though I messed up with our checkout date. They were very understanding. The cabin is an older cabin but has its own charm. Location is close enough to all shopping and attractions. Another plus.

This is a nice property on the river within 1 minute of the park

  • 4 of 5

It has a well stocked kitchen. There is ample room for 6 people with a loft and 2 bedrooms. The air conditioning is weak so there was a heat wave during our visit and the temp in the house was over 80 but I am used to it. The view of the river from the deck is nice and there is a grill. The hot water tub did not work at our stay but I was informed of this and would not have used it anyway. If you are planning on water tubing with your family this is the place to stay. We went 3 times and with 6 of us going for free it makes the cost of the cabin extremely reasonable. My only suggestion is that they leave a broom there. The deck gets leaves and cobwebs and it would have been nice to be able to clean it off. I would definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: Since the cabin is located in the mountains, right on the bank of the Little River, we have a problem with animals getting under the cabin and knocking the ductwork loose. When that happens most of the cool air goes outside! We try very hard to check the ductwork with each cleaning and have hired a company to replace this with permanent ductwork that can't be knocked loose. I apologize that cabin was uncomfortable during your stay. There is a broom and dustpan, but sometimes I've noticed it gets placed beside the refrigerator where it is hard to see. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you will return soon!

bab cabin.

If your 20 & don't know better; just fine. But we're not. Bird poop all over the main window. AC would only cool to 78 during the day. Poor. We were on vacation. Spider webs every where. You need a new cleaning service. My compliments to the photographer for the web site. I finally got the courage to raise the lid for the hot tub. A BIG mistake. We won't be back.

Owner's Response: The amenities for our cabin have never included a hot tub. Our hot tub is broken and we are trying to find the best way to remove it from our deck, which hangs out over the Little River and we will have to remove a privacy screen to do so. Hopefully when the rental season slows up a bit, we can get this done!

Peaceful Week

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our week at Riversound. The rustic cabin right on the river was very private and the deck over looking the river was a great place for coffee in the morning and quiet reflection in the evening.

Everything you need is there in the kitchen for your to prepare your meals if you wish to cook.

The beds were clean and comfortable. The only thing I could think to add would be a window unit air conditioner in the loft. We were there in July and the temperatures soared that week.

We had to call the owners for help with a yellow jacket nest near the entrance and the problem was handled within the hour by the friendly maintenance man.

I would not recommend planning on going down to the river from the cabin if you have any disabilities. One part has a steep step onto the rock.

I would be happy to stay there again in the fall. I can only imagine the beauty off the private deck with hardwoods all around.

Clean cabin with a beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Riversound last week! The cabin was very clean and cozy. The wall of windows looking out over the mountain and river is spectacular. Sitting on the deck listening to the river flow by was the most relaxing part of my week! We enjoyed watching people tube down the river all day. The kids loved being able to go down and play in the river anytime they wanted. This cabin is in between another cabin and a camp ground, however it still felt fairly private and secluded. The king sized bed in the loft is probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! And my older kids (10&13) really loved having their own bedroom.

We would absolutely stay at this cabin again! Townsend lives up to being 'the sleepy side of the smokies.' Which is another reason we enjoyed our stay so much!
