Simple and cozy on the beautiful river
Simple and cozy on the beautiful river!
The owner of the home was very helpful!
Just what we wanted
My husband had just retired. He wanted a cabin by a "babbling brook". We had never tried VRBO before and were just a little scared. We were very pleased with the cabin. The upstairs ladder was a little too much for us. We moved back downstairs. Good mattress and pillows. Place was very clean. Nice deck and the sound of the river right outside was wonderful. We did not need the oven, or washer or dryer this go round, but I cant wait to come back. We love Cades Cove.
Was a beautiful location Everything we needed was supplied .
Rustic and quiet
The cabin was definitely rustic, but enjoyable. We stayed downstairs because the steps were too steep, but that was not an issue.
Everything was as expected. This unit fit our needs perfectly. Townsend is a good location for a visit to the Smoky Mountains. Even though there is a campground next door, it was quiet and felt secluded. The only suggestion I would make is the visibility of the property entrance. We arrived at night and the entry to the road for the property was difficult to see. Other than that, we had a great time!
Riversound is charming and the river refreshing!
The cabin was cozy, fit our needs, and the location is great! Townsend is not too far from Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge but far enough away that it is quiet without much traffic. The cabin was a little difficult to find as the driveway is not marked but it is directly next door to a campground called Lazy Daze. We had no issue with the cabin being next to the campground as others have suggested. I have kids so they were probably noisier than the campers. We were able to tube the Little River several times during our stay which was included with our cabin rental. One time I had an issue with River Rat and the free tubing but other than that we really had a blast! Waking up to the river each morning was awesome and it provided us with a place to cool off after our daily adventures. The cabin was pretty well equipped for cooking they just didn't have measuring cups but that's no big deal. The AC worked great, loft bed and bedding was so comfortable, and the two bedrooms were super cute, and the kids said they were comfortable too. Check out the sweet shop just up the road (part of the KOA campground) for some delicious fudge and ice cream. There's a Dollar General, Ace Hardware, and IGA grocery store with a gas station just up the road as well as a great outdoor outfitter shop where my husband spend a lot of time. Our family truly loved Riversound and we will for sure book it again!
Thank you for this wonderful review! We have had measuring cups in the past and they will definitely be replaced ASAP!
