When we seen the pictures we instantly thought this would be a fit for a family getaway, little did we know we would fall in love with this place! We had such a great time. The house was beautiful, clean and kept updated. I would recommend this location to anyone! A huge thank you to the homeowners for providing us with all the information we could ask. You drive through a cute small town to get to the house. The views are absolutely breath taking! We cannot wait to book again next year!

Very comfortable vacation house with an excellent location on a scenic lake.

  • 5 of 5

This home is close to the lake water and the porch lets you enjoy a broad, unobstructed view of the lake and sky. We studied stars from this porch and saw beaver, loon and eagles pass by. We also were visited by a couple of pileated woodpeckers. The more athletic among us enjoyed kayaking and the hiking in the area while others were not anxious to leave the porch! The sandy area in the front of the porch makes going swimming easy for anyone who is not into jumping off a dock and for heading out to kayak. We had a couple of very cool Adirondack nights( but nice, warm sunny days) and the owners were kind enough to call and suggest the use of the wood stove if needed to take out the chill in the late evening. We did use the stove one night and the house was toasty and comfortable right till morning. While you bring your own linen there is plenty of nice blankets for use in all bedrooms if needed and fans to pull in cool ,night air if temperatures are up. It was a great vacation!

The Boathouse was an excellent choice

  • 5 of 5

As you drive down the dirt road, through the white pine and birch and toward The Boathouse, a real Adirondack experience begins. The traditional log-style building, circa 1920, sits right on the edge of the lake. Opening the door, you discover an open, bright, airy living space; it is an effective blend of Adirondack rustic and more modern camp style. The owners have a great eye and attention to detail, causing lots of "oohs and aahs" from our friends. The first floor has excellent flow between living, dining, and cooking spaces that is perfect for gathering after a day of hiking, swimming, boating, and relaxing on Long Lake. The second floor has four beautifully decorated bedrooms with comfortable beds and big, old fashioned windows to bring in fresh air for sleeping. Perhaps the best part of The Boathouse is its siting right at the water's edge, with panoramic views up and down the lake from a long deck that includes an area for dining and socializing. A small, sandy beach and the wooden dock allow for swimming, boating, sunning, and sitting under the stars. The Boathouse is private and located along the quieter end of Lang Lake, but it is an easy trip to the small town center to get supplies, have dinner, or even take a seaplane ride. The Boathouse provided us with a terrific accommodation for a wonderful vacation.
