We are a fun loving family who has lived in many states. From New York to Florida, Georgia to Alaska, New Mexico to Wyoming, then finally to Billings, Montana. We have a 5 year old boy named Knox and a Newfoundland named Bruun. Of all the states we have lived in, we have completely fallen in love with Montana. Working in Billings, we have created an amazing retreat in Red Lodge, Montana that we refer to as "The Nolan Cabin."
Kimberly and Dennis Nolan purchased this house in 1996
To us, The Nolan Cabin is more than just a retreat. One step in the front door and you automatically feel like you are in the middle of the mountains in a warm, cozy lodge with any worries or stresses of life left at the door step. The logs all around you give you an inner sense of wilderness and nature, yet everything you could ever need during your stay is at your fingertips. The rustic furnishings make everyone smile and you'll love wandering around admiring our own wildlife and landscape photography of the area that fills the rooms. Our home was created by our sincere love for adventure and the outdoors and the peace and inspiration it gives us. We want to make every effort to make your stay one you and your loved ones will never forget.
Even in Red Lodge's Mountain Golf Course neighborhood, you can still see every single star in the night sky. You will feel so close to so many of Red Lodge's activities, yet you will also feel a true sense of being in the town known as the basecamp to the Beartooth Mountains. You will be amazed at the deck space outdoors and the wonderful privacy hot tub area. This property is one of a kind and a dream come true for us. We hope to share our fond memories of days spent at The Nolan Cabin with as many people as we can, especially those who need or want to be overcome by the unexplainable feelings Red Lodge seems to leave you with.
We were able to host a family Christmas dinner . The cabin had a warm feeling. The owners were easily accessed and had printed materials that answered all our questions. The views from the front and back were a perfect winter wonderland. There were lots of deer roaming on the golf course with some of them bedding down under trees within a few yards of the cabin. Overall it was a great stay! Just what we were looking for.
The owner of this property was so kind to even have left goody bags for my girls. The cabin has a nice open floor plan, perfect for family gatherings, cooking and relaxing together.
We stayed over the weekend for our daughter's wedding at the golf course. Kimberly was wonderful to communicate with and so helpful. The cabin was majestic with it's stone fireplace and log interior but peaceful at the same time with the back deck looking onto the golf course, an expansive view out the front porch with beautiful sunrises and even a rainbow at one point! The street was quiet and I loved watching the bunnies in the early morning. We were so busy with wedding things going on, but the cabin was a serene spot to come to. Kimberly was very understanding when it came to packing up the day after and let us use extra time. We loved everything about this place!
I tend to be particular about where I stay so I don' t always trust pictures on websites; However, this place was even better than expected. The house is impeccably cleaned and decorated. The back deck was the perfect way to finish the day in the peaceful surroundings. Beds were comfy and the extra touches when we arrived like a nice cold coca cola were so appreciated!
There aren't enough superlatives to describe what a great time we had at the Nolan cabin! First off, the Nolans could not be more gracious and helpful hosts. The location was perfect for us-truly only a few minutes from downtown Red Lodge so trips downtown were very easy, yet located on a very quiet golf course and with a feeling of privacy that lent itself to feeling we were really more hidden away from the world. The cabin itself is absolutely lovely-- very comfortable and well equipped. The Nolans even procured a baby pack 'n play for our five month old grandson. All I did was ask if there was one available, and when we arrived , a brand new pack 'n play was waiting for us. (As an aside, the closet in the master bedroom was large enough to turn into the baby's nursery room and was a very quiet place for him to sleep!) So many personal aspects of the cabin make you feel at home, only wishing it was YOUR home! Books to read, games to play, a well stocked kitchen, and a toy closet that made our two year old grandson think that he had been transported to the funnest place on earth. Those that wanted to disconnect from the outside world could definitely feel like they were away from it all, but for those that wanted to stay a little more connected, there is a TV that was much nicer (and bigger) than our own at home, (with cable and Netflix) and we all were grateful to be able to connect to Wi-Fi. We used the hot tub (so clean and absolutely relaxing) every single night of our vacation, and looking out the back on the deck, just breathing the Montana air was invigorating and relaxing at the same time. We completely felt renewed and were so sad when out trip was over. We would never hesitate to stay here again, in fact we think we need to make it a family tradition! The Nolans were delightful to work with, and our stay was one that will be treasured in our memories.
