About David Smith

Local entrepreneur and author, I travel the world, and would love to stay in your vacation rental if you have one!

Why David Smith chose Oro Valley

I looked at townhomes for 13 years to find this amazing property. You feel as though you are in a private home on 50 acres, yet when you go out front it looks like all the others. I love being able to go out the front door with a day pack on and hike up to Pusch Ridge (4 hour hike) or just follow the loop trail for an hour or so, returning home without using a car!

This townhome will blow you away with its privacy and tranquil position surrounded by natural desert, amazing dark skies provide an awesome star party every night. With the Hilton Hotel just a short walk away you can dine, have drinks, and walk home.

A great desert location.

  • 5 of 5

We spent the month of February at this great location with gorgeous desert views. Desert trails and golf course trails were nearby, just outside our door. We walked almost every day, sometimes twice just to catch the sunset views! The neighborhood was quiet, well landscaped, very safe, with lots of friendly walkers on the streets and trails. The February weather was excellent, with sunny days and day-time temperatures mostly in the 70's to mid 80 degree range. The property is within walking distance to a Hilton resort hotel, a golf course, and tennis courts. The happy hours at the hotel were relaxing near the pool looking at the beautiful Pusch mountain ridge in the background. The desert landscaping was well maintained all around the hotel and homes in the surrounding golf course neighborhood. The access to Oro Valley shopping and restaurants was very convenient from this location.

Some great day trips from here included the Kartchner Caverns, Kitt Peak Observatory, the Desert Botanical Gardens, and the Pima Air and Space Museum and "Bone-yard tour". We also visited the Tucson Zoo and spent several days taking in many of the locations of the Tucson Gem, Fossil, and Mineral Show.

Overall, we had a great winter get-a-way and relaxing stay at this location. The hardest part was leaving and heading back to Minnesota for the remainder of winter!
