Perfect location for exploring Charlottesville and the beautiful area. The extras provided by the host made our stay extra special. We hope to return and extend our stay.... the listing is accurate as are the photos of the property. I found it to be even better than described.... a cozy and welcoming retreat! Many thanks to Simon for being the perfect host.

Lovely, relaxing, wonderful

  • 5 of 5

My two sisters and I had a wonderful three days. The beds and linens were super comfortable. The apartment was roomy and private. The artwork on the walls was lovely. The pantry was stocked will all kinds of snacks, coffee/tea, water, and fresh fruit. The gardens and peaceful rural setting was relaxing and quiet, which is just what we needed after sight-seeing and being on our feet for 6-8 hours each day. But most of all, Simon was a gracious, generous, and thoughtful host. I look forward to seeing him (and his two dogs: Snowy and Pebbles) the next time I go to Charlottesville.

Striking

  • 5 of 5

We traveled with 12, and needed extra space for 3 or 4. We choose Simon's cottage for the extras based on pictures and reviews. Of course, we tried to do too much on our arrival day, having started in D.C. and visited Williamsburg on the way to Charlottesville. We arrived at almost 11 p.m. Consternation reigned when we pulled off the highway onto a gravel road, then faced a tree covered lane almost too narrow for the car. We should not have worried, as suddenly a gate appeared leading to a secluded and very neat home as well as our host, Simon. He greeted us heartily, and took us to the cottage, surrounded by flowers and trees. The cottage was very nicely furnished, very comfortable and well provisioned with fruit, drinks and a greeting card from Peebles and Snowy, the dogs. We enjoyed the stay and recommend the cottage highly.

Wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

This "cottage" was perfect for our girls birthday celebration. It is quiet, peaceful, quaint and more than we expected. Our host was welcoming and made our stay perfect, providing delicious treats and breakfast items. The bedding and linens were great and everything was clean and neat. Very convenient to Charlottesville and surrounding area. Hope to return.

Lovely & Charming

  • 5 of 5

Very beautiful location and love the furnishings. The extra touches like snacks and a huge DVD collection puts this place over the top compared to a regular rental.
