Elegant apartment, with master bedroom suite upstairs, beautifully appointed with antiques, oriental carpets, silk curtains, hardwood floors, books, gourmet kitchen, crystal light fixtures, marble bath with Jacuzzi, etc.
You enter into a hallway with a guest bathroom (toilet and sink), kitchen, and living room/dining area. There is a patio on that level with a table and chairs.
You take the stairway up to the second level to find a large master bedroom, a marble bathroom with shower/whirlpool tub. There is a small patio off the master bedroom.
World traveler, currently living outside the country. Have loved this apartment and its location for 15 years, and can't give it up. I love coming back to NY and being right in the middle of everything wonderful in NYC.
Jude LaStrapes purchased this condo in 2001
This is a unique apartment in NYC. Very spacious, with a wonderful layout on two floors, including two outdoor spaces. The building is upscale and elegant, and what is most surprising, very quiet to be in the middle of NYC. The location simply can't be beat. It is super, super, convenient to everything.
The location is fantastic, and the apartment feels like a little house - not an apartment, as there is upstairs and downstairs, plus two outdoor patios - one on each floor
We offer guests a courtesy pick up at the airport by our private driver at no charge for a smooth and seamless arrival at the apartment. (Return transfer at the end of the visit would be on the guest's own account.)
Great upper westside location. Quiet neighborhood. Convenient to subway and shops.
Only TV is in the upstairs bedroom. Cable system is FIOS, which was difficult to navigate. Their was no
channel guide, even though welcome book said one existed. Manager was to stop by and resolve issues, he never arrived
Kitchen was clean and well appointed, bathrooms were in excellent condition. Carpets are a little tired.
Overall, a good stay, owners were friendly and welcoming. Would recommend
I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay in your home during my visit to NYC. What an amazing find. I first saw this listing a couple of months ago needing a place to stay on a prior visit. Sadly, it was not available. But when I reached out again, Teresa was thrilled that I kept her place in mind. I can't tell you how excited I was and upon arriving, I was quite pleased. The apartment is conveniently located on the first floor close to the lobby. The personnel at the door are friendly and helpful. This condo was extremely clean, well kept, and thoughtfully appointed. It is as elegant as it appears in the pictures. The gourmet kitchen has everything one needs. The dining and living room look out on to a patio. This home houses two AC/Heat units, one upstairs and the other downstairs. Both units worked well. The upstairs has a very large bedroom with a comfortable bed, an enormous bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, magnified make-up mirror and a generous amount of closet and drawer space. The master bedroom closet was the size of another bedroom and had lots of hangers, shelves, drawers, shoe racks, and mirrors and plenty of space to put your luggage. The master bedroom is a warm and cozy abode also overlooking a patio. The black out drapes were incredible. I slept well.
Jude and Teresa could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The upper west side location was the best! Please note that the washing machine and dryer are not located in the apartment but the building has machines to use down stairs if needed. Thank you for a fantabulous visit. I will be back soon.!! I found the apartment to be very comfortable, tastefully decorated and spacious. All arrangements went very smoothly, and I highly recommend the apartment. The location on the West Side of Manhattan is convenient to all of Manhattan.
Appreciated personal, airport transfer on arrival - started off visit on a good note. Apartment is in a very high class, quiet, doorman building with mature, grown professionals who own their homes - not the typical airbnb situation. Location can't be beat. Everything is close at hand (Central Park, Lincoln Center, chic cafes on Columbus Avenue, banks, groceries, subways, you name it -this location is in the middle of everything you could want). Classically furnished. Large space for Manhattan (my husband stayed up reading downstairs in the lounge while I turned in early upstairs in the bedroom).
If you would really like a large suite at the Carlyle Hotel, but don't want to pay those rates, try this instead.
Super apartment. Very spacious (on two floors). Elegant decor. Clearly not furnished "for rental" purposes. Silk wall paper, silk drapes, etc., appear to have been furnished for the owner who no longer lives there. Lovely art work in the living room, including a stone sculpture that is not pictured. There is a large master bath (my wife loved the counter for spreading out her makeup, hair dryer, etc. You don't usually get this much room in NYC.). There is a separate half bathroom with a lovely series of prints showing the Eiffel Tower during various stages of construction. The ktichen is small, but very well appointed with granite countertops and stainless appliances (we never cooked, but the microwave worked well to warm our leftovers one time). Things to consider that were not mentioned in description: a) owner arranged a free pickup at the airport by their personal driver - a very nice touch; b) the apartment is in a first class doorman building - very safe; c) the apartment is exceptionally quiet - if you don't like the sound of traffic, sirens, garbage trucks - this is a good choice. The gentleman who showed us around when we arrived was very professional. Felt more like a hotel experience than an apartment experience. Comes highly recommended.
