Westwind #502 renovations are beautiful. The pop-corn ceiling has been scrapped and entire unit has been repainted in a light gray tone with white trim. The kitchen has all new Frigidaire Gallery Series stainless steel appliances and a Samsung front load washer and dryer.

All furniture, lamps, pictures, accessories, TVs, etc are new.

Coastal Cottage Decor:

Living room sofa sleeper, accent chair and ottoman are by Ashley's Alenya line. Cream and vintage charcoal upholstery. The dining room table and chairs is the Whitesburg Collect by Ashley - two tone white and burnished brown finishes.

The master bedroom will have a king mattress with a Tufted upholstered tan linen fabric headboard with nail-head outlining tack trim.

The balcony has all new SunCoast aluminum outdoor furniture including chaise lounge, 4 chairs and 2 side tables.

Westwind Property:

With only 30 units in the building it is easy to enjoy the Gulf front pool and BBQs. Access to the beach is a simple walk over the boardwalk where there are seasonal chair and umbrella rentals available to guests. Add to that an easy walk from the beach down to Gulf Shores Main Beach to places like the Hangout and Pink Pony and you have the elements of a PERFECT getaway.

STAY AND PLAY

This rental comes with our 'Stay and Play Package.' Each night you will receive:

-one free round of golf for one adult a day;

-one complimentary deep-sea fishing admission on a party boat for one adult a day;

-one adult fare upon a dolphin cruise a day(seasonal);

-unlimited movie rentals per unit- two movies out at a time;

-one adult admission to local water park a day(seasonal);

-fourteen free points to the amusement center a day.

The property looks as good as the photos. It was clean and in good shape. Location was 10/10. The pool is small but with so few units using it, it was never crowded.

The unit was dirty.

We had to wash all sheets and blankets. The sheets were visibly dirty. One blanket had a blood stain on it. The floors were dirty. Bathroom too small for 2 adults and teenage children.

Owner's Response: Our sincere apologies for the unsatisfactory cleanliness of the condo. Anytime you arrive to one of our properties please notify us immediately where we have the chance to correct the problem. As you can see from the reviews we get from VRBO as well as other 3rd party booking agents about this unit, they are all 4 and 5 stars. We appreciate all reviews as this aids us in making the condo as guest friendly as we can. Unfortunately, Westwind is an older property and making the bathroom larger is not an option. I do know the bathroom as well as the entire unit has been remodeled from top to bottom featuring stainless appliances , freshly painted walls and ceilings throughout. The owner even bought all new furniture, accessories and bedding for the entire unit. Even the balcony furniture is commercial grade with aluminium framing that will not rust for this climate. Again we apologize and hope to see you again in the future.

I actually give it 3.5 starts

The best part of this unit is the interior, view, and location. All very important. I am giving this place four stars, but would give 3.5 if I could.

More good stuff: The interior is nice. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment for cooking. The pool was clean and warm.

The just-okay: The outside and common areas are not awesome. Looks and feels like an old run down apartment building.

What I just don't get is why not throw in a couple of beach chairs and towels in the closet. We flew from California and had to buy beach chairs and an umbrella. $80. We left them but I'm sure they'll be tossed. We brought 4 beach towels from home and that takes up alot of space.

The other thing that was unlike all other VRBO units is that they completely toss everything from the kitchen. The cupboards were BARE. We left condiments and stuff like salt and paper, spices, herbs, etc. and I'm sure others have too, but it appears they toss it out after each guest. Why not let others leave stuff to be used by the next guests.

Wifi is spotty. There's one router on each floor for all the units. Totally unsecured.

Owner's Response: We totally agree. The condo interior is fabulous. We get so many glowing reviews and guest commenting on the condo and how it is decorated. The proof is in the rentals. It rents constantly and the owner is overly pleased with the way it turned out and of course the rental proceeds. Westwind is an older property so it does not have the new lush landscaping and many amenities the other newer properties have but most guest love the location and the low density where there is not so many people to deal with. We agree with you that the condo is very small and not a lot of room to store beach chairs and umbrellas and owners that typically leave chairs and beach items typically get misplaced or accidentally taken by other guests. It's not cost feasible for our owners to keep those beach items in the unit when the beach service offers such nice large beach lounge chairs and really nice size umbrellas. OSHA regulates all rental companies and hotels not leaving salt, pepper, spices, open cleaning products, etc. in rental properties. Most guest will not use open salt and pepper or other food products just due to health regulations - it's not sanitary. We comply with all OSHA regulations so we do not leave unused or open cleaning products other than the approved amenity size products we leave in the condo. We also dispose of all spices, salt/pepper and any food type product. But again, we totally agree with you on the interior of the condo and are over pleased you gave us a great review.
