About Erin and John Knox

John, Erin, and Will (our son) live in Essex Junction, VT. John is a native Vermonter, from Essex, and Erin has lived in VT for 23 years (she grew up in Whitefield, NH). We work hard, but love to enjoy our time together and with family and friends, and enjoy our life in Vermont.

Why Erin and John Knox chose Lake Champlain Islands

Heavenly Haven is a special place to us. It is our dream to be able to live full-time on the lake when we retire. One of the reasons we choose to live in Vermont is for it's amazing natural for Lake Champlain! We love South Hero because it is close to our home in Essex and easy access to Burlington. Haven was owned for many years by the same family, and we want to continue to keep it up and enjoy the gardens, trees, and waterfront access. When we saw Haven - we fell in love with it and (so they say) - had to make it ours!

What makes this house unique

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful views and amazing lake access at one of the most beautiful spots on the Lake.

What a beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

The setting is beautiful. Erin and John were a delight to work with. The peace and quiet were very restful. The home has everything you need including a canoe, which was fun to use. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. It is a very short trip to Burlington and the rest of the islands. Thanks again for your hospitality Janis and Howard

Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

The owners were a pleasure to work with and the property is beautiful. We left completely relaxed and refreshed. The cottage is the perfect blend of rustic and comfort. During the work week, it felt like we were the only people on our little spot of the bay. We enjoyed canoeing, floating, and taking in the beauty of the lake. Our kids are 10 and 13 and both loved the setting, from swinging to splashing and spotting wildlife (including a mother and baby deer in the field across from the cottage). South Hero is charming and we found everything we needed in the convenience stores. We hope we are able to stay again!

Beautiful property, lots of space to enjoy staying on the lake

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cottage! The property was exactly what I expected, and I have high expectations. The property was well maintained, the owners were very helpful answering questions and checking on us to make sure everything was perfect. I would recommend this cottage for anyone who enjoys fishing, boating, or peaceful views of the lake. Great place for family. The neighbors were friendly too, which always helps. We look forward to staying there again.
