A Shining Example

  • 5 of 5

Basically for our first trip to Ireland this cottage exceeded our expectations. On arrival the owners greeted us with a welcoming bottle of red and a fresh-baked artisan loaf. And things only got better. The cottage was a delight. Beautifully furnished and comfortable. If the proof of really great accommodation lies in the ability to feel truly relaxed by doing nothing and just admiring the view, then this is just the cottage. Would I recommend it to friends? Naturally. But it was so good, I'd prefer to keep it a secret! A truly memorable holiday.

Spectacular!!!

  • 5 of 5

We spent the month of November at the lighthouse cottage at Roches Point. It's hard to describe how beautiful our time there was. From the moment we walked into the courtyard and looked into the house to see the gorgeous Irish Sea, we felt like we were in a fantasy. The view from every single room is just fantastic. The cottage is completely updated - modern kitchen fully stocked with with everything someone who loves to cook could want or need. Beautiful bathrooms with heated floors. Cozy living room with a fireplace and views into Cobh Harbor. Lovely neighbors who were helpful and sweet. And Malcolm was fantastic as well very responsive with every inquiry we had before and during our stay. This is a magical place and if you ever have a chance to get to this part of the world, I recommend without reservation the beautiful lighthouse at Roches Point!!!

Wonderful cottage in fabulous surroundings! We loved it.

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was warm and welcoming, even with a winter gale blowing outside. We were very comfortable there, the kitchen was very well set up for a holiday let - small but had all the essentials and plenty to make some interesting meals if we'd had more time. We even made a birthday cake!

The beds were warm and comfortable, and we really enjoyed waking up to the view into the harbour. There was plenty of hot water all the time and the shower was lovely. The washing machine and drier were also useful after a muddy walk locally!

The sitting room was lovely and cosy, and it was such a nice touch to find the fire set ready to just light. And I would have loved to explore the interesting bookshelf for longer. But we spent most time in the kitchen/diner, looking out at the ocean. It was nice to watch ocean traffic at sea and also in the harbour, and catch the pilot jumping down a couple of times to his own boat from larger ships.

We rented the cottage for Christmas to visit family, and we were able to host them there for the birthday party that falls over the period. It was great to be local to them and do all the visiting needed. But we will be back again when we can just relax and enjoy the cottage, its surroundings and watching the sea more.

Stunning Place

  • 5 of 5

Our first time to Ireland and we ended here with 2 nights in this beautiful light house home. So beautiful it was hard to get our wives to go into Midleton. Amazing place to relax and watch the sun rise as well as the moon. Highly recommend, sorry Malcom that our arrival was a few hours late. But thanks for hanging out for us.

Incredible location at the entrance to Cobh Harbor. Very quiet and peaceful.

This was an amazing vacation. The property was in excellent condition, and Malcolm met us at the property exactly when we expected him. The views from the living room out to the Celtic Sea blew us away every time we walked in. You can spend endless hours enjoying the view. The property is quite large, with 3 bedrooms and two baths, and a spacious den as well as a living room. There is easy access to shopping and local restaurants that we really enjoyed. We also ate in and the cooking appliances are in great shape.

We would recommend this property without reservation and we look forward to many return visits!

Just Amazing

  • 5 of 5

One of the most relaxing and refreshing breaks we have ever had. From the moment we walked through the door of Lighthouse Cottage and recieved a warm welcome from Gerrie and Malcolm we just knew we were going to have a wonderful holiday. The cottage was perfect in every way and spotlessly clean . The views were magnificent. If you need refreshed and revived go for a break to Lighthouse Cottage. Winston & Gaye
