5 Star Property but 3 Star Experience

  • 3 of 5

The White Buffalo Ranch is a beautiful location, and the facilities are very nice. We greatly enjoyed what the property had to offer. Unfortunately, the property is under newer ownership that appears to not have fully decided what direction they wish to go with their property. The owners made our stay unduly stressful. One or both of the owners was on the premises every day of our stay in an apartment in one of the main buildings that we were using. We felt as if we were being babysat. The facilities were overfilled with large, expensive decorations making it very family unfriendly. The owners expected significant amounts of housekeeping that were not delineated in the rental contract or the unexpected, supplementary “house rules” sheet which also caused undue stress and unnecessary work for a vacation. The internet is not high-speed, and you are limited to a data cap, 3GB for our 1 week stay. There is only wifi available in the dining facility and not the sleeping quarters. Sprint and Verizon do not receive reception at this property. This is a beautiful location to vacation, but I would suggest adults or older children only and be very specific with the owners about what is expected during your stay.

Owner's Response: We have been so fortunate to have had so many wonderful families stay at our lodge this year. Unfortunately that was not the case with this family. A former consultant took the booking and made promises that should not have been made. What this guest didn’t tell you is that we were required to be on premises. We were bullied into making an elaborate breakfast for them each morning. Even after we told them that the chef was no longer there, they would not allow us to honor the “continental breakfast” that was listed in their contract. We advertise our ranch as a working cattle ranch. Workers will be there to for daily chores, are available for tours & take care of any mechanical issues that may arise. Our apartment is on the west wing of the dining lodge with a separate entrance. Each ranch hand has living quarters the property. This is the only family that came 2 months prior to their stay to preview the facility & grounds. They deemed it kid-friendly then & were fully aware of the location of our office & living quarters. They arrived with 16 children, 4 sets of parents & a set of grandparents. We state several places that well-behaved, supervised children are welcome. They admitted during the final walk through that “16 children to 4 moms was unmanageable for them. They couldn’t adequately supervise that many children.” They were extremely disrespectful of the house rules. Take care of your children. Clean up after yourself. The contract states that housekeeping is NOT included. Sweeping floors, closing doors, wiping tables & counters, washing & putting away your dinner dishes should not be construed as above & beyond house cleaning. We were forced to clean up their supper dishes so we could prepare breakfast. It took twice as long to clean the lodges after they left. Carpets were stained, food was found between the cushions. This family was extremely pushy, forcing us to let their “puppy” come. Their pet contract stated that ALL feces would be picked up & disposed of. Not once did that happen. (Guess what the bride-to-be stepped in when she tour the grounds after the family left.) The final straw was when one of the parents threw his young son off of the 2nd floor balcony into the 4 ft above ground pool several feet from the edge of the balcony. It was only because of the grandparents celebrating their anniversary that the entire group was not asked to pack up and leave immediately! Hind sight says we should have called child protective services.

More Than We Could Have Imagined

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the White Buffalo Ranch for a Independence Day couples getaway and loved everything about it. We initially found this as an alternative to the Lake of the Ozarks homes that were either too small for our group's size or more than we were wanting to spend. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. White Buffalo Ranch had all the amenities of a lake house without the hassle of the large crowds.

Not only was there ample space for our group of 12 (the place honestly could hold 28) but the facilities were immaculate and the staff couldn't have been any friendlier or more helpful. The owners were great about communicating ahead of time and answered any questions we threw at them. They had all the plates, cups, utensils, etc. you would want and the ranch itself was truly beautiful. Our weekend was a bit rainy but their covered outdoor patio and beautiful indoor lounges made this a non-issue. Before our time was up we were brainstorming opportunities to come back and bring other family/friends.

I could not recommend the White Buffalo Ranch enough!

Family Memories Made

  • 5 of 5

Three generations gathered at the Ranch for a long weekend of connecting, eating and playing. Bob, Mary and Shelomo are such welcoming, kind people. We came as strangers and left as friends.

We went kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, swimming, played pool and made smores. The

commercial indoor and outdoor kitchens are a cook"s dream. This Ranch rocks! Thanks for the memories!

Great get away!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent a long weekend at the ranch back in March. What a beautiful, clean, peaceful get away. We had such a wonderful time and the accommodations are top of the line. Our bed was comfortable which gave use great nights rest. We rode around the whole property and hiked the trails and enjoyed the many water streams. My family will definitely return to the white buffalo ranch. The owners were very accommodating and so gracious. Thank you Bleser family for sharing your beautiful ranch with us.

Corporate Meeting

  • 5 of 5

The White Buffalo was the perfect venue for our meeting. Just enough internet and phone reception to conduct outside business while being able to focus on necessary meeting topics. Meeting area was laid out for productivity. Lodge was incredible and sleeping areas quite comfortable. Kitchen was extremely well stocked and excellent for meal preparations. Outside areas were amazing. This was all complimented by wonderful owners and staff that understand customer service and attending to your needs both quickly and efficiently. If you are looking for place to have a corporate meeting or retreat, would highly recommend everything that this facility has to offer.

Easter Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the White Buffalo Ranch over Easter. We played pool, sat by the fire and relaxed in the overstuffed leather chairs. We fished and took long walks through the woods. It was so peaceful and quiet with awesome views. I would definitely recommend this place for the nature lover.
