Breathtaking views! Perfect place to unplug!

  • 5 of 5

Lane's End Farm was everything I hoped for. The property was beautiful, the sky was breathtaking & it feels like you're out in the middle of nowhere. When you follow the winding road down & you reach the gravel- it's as if you've entered another world. So beautiful, so simple!

The tiny house has everything you need for a weekend of being unplugged. Comfortable bed & cozy love seat. The kitchen stocked with just enough necessities to prepare simple food. (Mini fridge, small coffee pot, micro, toaster oven). Simple bathroom (vanity, toilet & shower, hot water!!!). I brought my own food & coffee, stored it in the fridge- was able to spend less time away from relaxing. But, plenty of local places to grab take-out! Also current WIFI, good connection, if you need internet.

The structure itself is beautiful, rustic with exposed brick inside, a few creaks & crackling bricks- remember the structure was built in the 1800's. I felt safe at night, screen provided for the window to keep bugs out- opening the window is a must, let nature speak to you!! Plenty of blankets if it gets chilly in the morning.

Local coffee shop, THE BLEND, was a fun hipster place with delicious coffee. I had black brewed coffee + Iced Moroccan Coffee, both delicious.

I hope I covered everything. Looking to unplug? THIS IS THE PLACE!!!!!!

Sal + Buzz were as available as I needed. Sal gave me a plate of delicious cookies shortly after I arrived. Took a tour of the property & got a few recommendations.

I chose not to communicate too much- I was busy relaxing, reading & painting. Can't wait to go back!

Perfect little getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Tiny House for 2 nights in June 2017. The owners are great people to chat with and they are very helpful in showing you around. There is everything we needed within the house to make it a relaxing and peaceful stay. The small horses and great trails to explore made it even better. Definitely worth a stay!

Tiny House; Hugely Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

After a hectic and busy summer, we(both teachers) were looking for a way to relax, get away from the hustle and bustle of the school year and celebrate our first anniversary. The Tiny House provided the perfect opportunity to get away (but not so far away to leave us exhausted on Monday). It is darling and we enjoyed roaming the gorgeous property. Sal and Buzz have put lots of time and hard work into restoring the old summer kitchen complete with restored original brick. The bed was amazingly comfortable and we slept soundly in the country quiet of Lane's End. Sal and Buzz were gracious hosts and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Their recommendations for restaurants and such were spot on. We particularly enjoyed Denhart's restaurant on the square and Michael's Italian Feast.

The Tiny House is perfect if you are looking for a quiet, low-key retreat from a crazy busy life.

The first year of our marriage has been full of memorable moments but we will never forget watching the Cubs win the NLCS in the Tiny House. We sat by a fire outside with the game on inside (positioned just so we could see it) and shared champagne. What a magically simple weekend!

Thank you, Sal and Buzz, for providing the perfect Fall weekend for us.

We're already thinking about when we might return.

Wonderful and quiet

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a quiet weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Chicago and the Tiny House was perfect. The green fields and cute miniature horses and cows made the weekend idyllic. Would love to come back again.

Perfect place to shake off the stress of the city

  • 5 of 5

Quaint is probably the best way to describe the Tiny House. The house itself is adorable and bigger than your average hotel room. Plenty of room for two, with hot water, a comfy bed and just the right amount of modern conveniences (tv in case the Cubs are in the NLDS!, microwave, coffee maker). The property is beautiful, quiet with plenty of mowed trails to walk around without getting lost. We especially enjoyed the friendly cat and watching the horses go about their business while sitting by the outdoor fit pit with a glass of wine. There is no question that we will make this a yearly event. Sal and Buzz couldn't be nicer or more helpful and gave us just the right amount of privacy. If you want a romantic getaway that's different, you won't be sorry.

Friendly owners, quaint place with peaceful surroundings.

  • 4 of 5

Nice, quiet atmosphere. We were only there to rest our heads at night so did not take advantage of the beautiful property. The Tiny House is a quaint little place meeting our needs for the trip.

I would have given five stars with the exception of being taken aback by a one time service fee and cleaning fee added to the cost of the stay, totaling another $60+. Charge a little more per night for the Tiny house and remove those two charges from the invoice. I think it would make the guests happier.
