Villa 'Los Pinos' is named after the Pine trees on the hillside behind the villa. Located just above a country road with private driveway, this country villa enjoys excellent country views from the villa and terrace. The private location is not overlooked and the heated swimming pool and terraces invite al fresco dining. Comares, the highest village in the Axarquia region of Andalucia, is a 10 minute drive. Here you will find several bar/restaurants serving good tapas and meals, banks, chemists and tobaconists. The tiny hamlet of Los Ventorros is just a 20 minute walk from the villa and has two good bar/restaurants Table Mountain and El Molino , there is also a local general store selling fresh produce and bread etc. There is also a Craft Centre selling hand made goods, paintings, ornaments, etc..quite unique. Villa Los Pinos is conveniently situated, a 30 minute drive from the Mediterranean coast at Torre del Mar and a 1 hour drive from Malaga city and airport. Explore Andalucia and enjoy the sunny country views this spacious rural villa has to offer.

Large villa in beautiful countryside, good pool, but needs some updating
The villa is located in the mountains in charming countryside but inevitably it's something of a windy mountain drive to reach it, over 1 hour from Malaga. The villa is spacious, private, and has a good pool. However, the furniture, bedding, and crockery need refreshing and the barbecue base was rusted through. In particular, holes in the sofas covered by cotton throws aren't really acceptable. The outside awning on the photograph does not exist and for much of the afternoon there is little shade. The aircon drips in two of the bedrooms and whilst ants in the kitchen are to be expected in a country house, the mouse was a shock! Be warned that there is nothing provided at the villa in terms of toiletries, cleaning materials or pool towels. Comares is a fascinating village and not far, but unfortunately the good restaurant in the nearby village is long closed down. Overall we had a good holiday but it was a three star experience which could have so easily been a five star with a little TLC.
All our visitors enjoy the countryside location near Comares and around 2 kms from El Molino family restaurant in Los Ventorros. I would like to apologise for the old BBQ base and sofas which are suffering from wear and tear and being replaced at the end of this year. The drips from the air conditioning units are fixed and so guests can again enjoy the aircon without the drips! One important comment; the awning in the photograph has been replaced with heavy duty round sun shades and what Steven did not mention is that Jose provided a gazebo very quickly when this family asked for more shade. Toiletries are not provided and most visitors expect to bring their own. Towels & WiFi are inlcluded. And yes a mouse got into the house from the woodland behind the villa but Jose/Rafael quickly evicted it! Very pleased you had a good holiday & thanks for your feedback.
Lovely Villa, beautiful setting
This Villa is set in the most beautiful surroundings, however it is quite some journey to reach it. A full 40 minutes of twisting, hairpin bends and then an all mighty steep driveway before we arrived with a car full of very green passengers. Not for the feint hearted. So much so that once you are up, you really don’t want to go back down until you really have to. If you get car sick, it is one to avoid. If you do have a stomach of steel however, then it is well worth it for the amazing views and absolute peace and quiet.
The villa itself if very clean and spacious and the kitchen is well stocked. Beds are very comfy although the bedding and towels are past their best and really need to be updated. The villa has a strange mix of old and new decor and my personal feeling is that less is more. However all very clean and presentable. No extras like games or cards or DVDs that can sometimes be useful so bring your own if this is your thing. Also no hand wash, toilet roll, bin liners, cleaning materials so stock up at the supermarket before you make the journey up.
Once up, there is a very small supermarket 5 mins drive away in Comares, and a bar/restaurant at the end of the street with very friendly owners.
Jose and pool man very friendly and helpful.
Overall, a great place if you just want to hide away by the pool, but not so good if you want to be out and about every day. You’ll come to dread that journey up that goes on and on and on......
Los Pinos villa does indeed enjoy beautiful surroundings and fantastic views, see photographs. It is located just 5 minutes from hilltop Comares which is around 30 minutes drive from the beach & one hour from Malaga airport. The road is well paved & has numerous bends but most visitors understand if you want to enjoy this stunning area its worth the drive from the busy Costa. Bedding & towels are 3 years old and will be replaced at the end of this year. Some toilet rolls are always provided as is floor cleaner, bucket & mop. Villa is professionally cleaned between lets. Bathroom & kitchen towels are provided but please take pool towels & of course soap/shower gel, shampoo etc. This is we agree a place to relax and escape the masses. Thanks Zoe.
Villa cool, bright & very spacious. Lovely peaceful location. Well equiped kitchen. Bathroom (bath with shower over) & shower room, both spacious with plenty of towels provided, and hot water at all times. Outside there are lots of sunloungers(with cushoins) and a lovely pool. Had a lovely relaxing week. Thanks for having us.
A glowing review we can be proud of. Los Pinos is a great place to relax with superb views and plenty of outside space. Thanks Peter for your kind words.
Good as expected in reference to previous reviews
Good location. Cool building even in 35 degrees didn't use A.C. A water leak was fixed quick with one phone call. A welcome book would have been handy . 3 bathrooms great. A good family holiday. Would recommend this villa to my friends
Los Pinos is spacious and ideal for a large family or for 2 families sharing. Jose ( who speaks English) & Rafael are only a phone call away for help, information or 24/7 in an emergency. Thanks for your kind comments Paul - I hope you will return...
Fantastic setting. Brilliant holiday
We booked it on the overall impression and the strength of the reviews. We were not disappointed and can honestly say none of us wanted to go home. Lots of fantastic memories made. We have just booked again for next year.
Dominant positioned lovely Villa
Loved the dominant position of the villa and the peaceful location, having rented villas in this region before, nicely decorated /Tiled bathrooms / En-suite nice size lounge good facilities in the kitchen, possibly a bit more ovenware would be a bonus and things like butter dish, cruet set would be good, but we had a relaxing enjoyable holiday and thought the rental was very good value for money, enjoyed the pool some respite from the 90 degree tempretures we had all in all a very good rental and really good value for money would highly recommend . We rented as a couple but all good size bedrooms for a large family .
The location and position of Los Pinos is special and unique......Looking out accross the hillside and with nobody next door! Not isolated though, a 5 min drive or 30 minute walk and you can enjoy 2 excellent bar/restaurants in Los Ventorros village. Thanks for a glowing review.
Villa Los Pinos is situated in the Axarquia region of Andalucia - inland from the Costa Del Sol in Southern Spain. This part of Europe enjoys a mild climate all year with typically 320 days of sunshine. Comares, the nearest 'Pueblo Blanco' Village and 700 metres above sea level, is a 5 minute drive and a convenient village base for shopping and rural eateries, pharmacy, banks etc . The sandy beaches of Torre Del Mar and the Mediterranean coastline is 25 km - 30 minutes by car, with Malaga City and Airport within a 1 hour drive. Granada and the Alhamba Palace is a 90 minute drive - a must see day trip! And Nerja has famous caves, great beaches and good shopping too; 40 km.
Villa Los Pinos will appeal to those requiring a private location with no next door neighbors. The views accross the olive trees are superb and there is an excellent local bar/restaurant and village shop in Los Ventorros hamlet - a 2 minute drive or 30 minute walk.
