About Melvin & Chernda Pendleton ( owners )
Hello, my name is Chernda Pendleton and this home was the first me and my husband purchased. The home have a down home southern feeling. We decided to purchase another home and decided families visiting for graduations and family gathering could use our house as a home away from home. We are a retired military family therefore we know the need for living situations rather you visiting or staying.
Melvin & Chernda Pendleton ( owners ) purchased this House in 2004
Why Melvin & Chernda Pendleton ( owners ) chose Muscogee County
This property is perfectly located less than 5 minutes from main post gates. Because of this location you beat the morning commute to Ft. Benning.

Our family loved staying in this home. It was perfect for our visit in spending time with our solider and attending his graduation! I would recommend this home as a favorite.
Thank you for your review I'm glad you enjoyed the same and we look forward to seeing you again .Thank you again
Do NOT rent this property! Especially if you are hoping to spend quality time with a soldier.
The owner made a mistake on my paid rental days. As a result, she sent me a message after the Turning Blue ceremony, during family time, to threaten eviction for early arrival if I didn't pay $120. I responded that we did not arrive early (she said at 10:00 a.m.) as I was in Mississippi driving at that time and had arrived at 3:45. She did not respond. I was anxious that we would be evicted while we were spending that one precious day with our soldier. The following morning, before graduation I send another message and she finally called. During the call, she admitted that she had "cameras all over the house" and that she was in the house at 10:00 a.m. and knew we were there. She said I sounded aggressive and again threatened to have me removed from the property. I called her back when my brother suggested that she may have the wrong date. Bottom line, I paid for 5/30 - 6/3. She did have her dates mixed up. She had entered the property at 10:00 a.m. on 5/31. At no time during two calls did she apologize. She was one of the rudest individuals I have ever spoken to. I left the house a day early. She yelled at me that "as the owner, I told you to stay". Really? I will not stay in a house where I am threatened, spied on and treated like a criminal. She then stated that the money I paid for the last night was not refundable. I sarcastically let her know that I was aware of that. She could have taken an opportunity to apologize and refund the expense in payment for her error, but she did not. She still sounded angry that she was unable to extort an extra $120 from me when she hung up.
Without that horrible experience I would have given the house a 2 or 3. There is no dishwasher. There are large, rude signs all over the house with "Keep out", etc. The décor is fussy and not suitable for family relaxation. For example, there are slip covers on the sofas, plastic on the dining room table seats and the dining room is staged with place settings so board games are difficult, as is dinner because there isn't enough counter space to put the place settings. In addition, the fitted sheets on the king size bed are so cheap that they do not stay on if you so much as sit on the bed. I woke all night sleeping on a bare mattress. She did provide water, Danish, and coffee.
The loss of quality time with our soldier due to anxiety...that ONE DAY... prior to graduation and his final duty station was heartbreaking.
Home was well maintained, nicely decorated, and well stocked with what we needed .
The property was well maintained. The biggest plus was we had family and friends coming from different places around the US and being able to have them all under one roof for the time we were together was nice. Definitely better than dealing with multiple Motel rooms which ends up spreading everyone out. Having the ability to sit back and do some grilling/cooking right there makes you feel like you are at home. We will recommend this to anyone we know that is heading off on vacation or attending a graduation like we were. We will definitely use it again. Thank you!
Dear guest I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay. I send well wishes to your graduate and thank him for choosing to make a career with the United States Army. Be all you can be.
Not a house to rent if you have kids
Definitely not a house to rent if you have kids. I had to take anything and everything that might break and put it up so it wouldn't break. Although it has everything you could need for a baby, but it's just not baby friendly. Also it is written everywhere to leave the house the way you found it or you won't get your deposit back. It made me feel like I needed to clean it and not have anything out of place when we left. We are clean people, but to feel nervous the whole time wasn't fun. I also had to change the master bedroom sheets cause they were dirty. It was hard to do your hair. I am 5 feet 3 inches and I couldn't see in the master bathroom mirror and then the main bathroom there has no outlets so I had to plug everything in the bedroom far away from the mirror.
Definitely shouldn't have a breakable vase with marbles in it where a baby can get to it, to not only break it but swallow a marble. If it wasn't for any of that stuff, it was a decent house to stay in.
Perfectly met all our needs and expectations!
The house was amazing! Our extended family traveled from out of town to visit our son at his Ft Benning US Army Basic Training Family Day and Graduation. The house allowed us to spread out and relax, while still spend family time together.
The entire house was beautifully decorated and spotless.
The house is very close to Ft Benning, as well as shopping and a local park with a lovely walking trail. Rather than get several hotel rooms, it was so much nicer for us all to sleep in the same house, and hang out in a living room and talk, and cook our own food in a well appointed kitchen.
And our new Soldier was able to relax and enjoy our visit, in the privacy and peace and quiet of a house.
Thank you for a great stay - this is truly a hidden gem.
Dear guest i'm glad you enjoyed your stay.I hope next time you come to columbus you decide to stay with us.
Perfect location for Fort Benning
The house was very nice and clean. Only 15 minutes from the base at Ft Benning. It was perfect for us having a nice back yard. The one bathroom would be perfect if it has some electrical outlets.
The house is located close to military base. There are several places to eat close by.
