The most awesome home with incredible ocean views!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived through the English gardens and into the original century old home with wide plank floors, we thoroughly enjoyed everything about the stay. Each room has been meticulously restored and furnished with the latest accessories. The bed linens and bath towels are top of the line. We loved cooking in the gourmet kitchen with every appliance and gadget that we have at home. The lobster boil on the front terrace overlooking the pond and ocean were memorable. The central location provided us great access to the bicycle trail for the 10 minute easy ride into Falmouth. The trail also goes to Woods Hole in the opposite direction which is worth a day excursion. Our children loved the game room especially the ping pong table. We hope to return next summer for more Cape Cod adventures and memories.

Spoiled in Cape Cod

  • 5 of 5

A memorable family vacation. My family and I stayed at this beautiful, historical home to coincide with Labor Day weekend last year. Every room in this home is beautifully, yet comfortably decorated. What was surprising to me is how private and wonderfully secluded we felt. Although there are other neighbors on the street, with the surrounding pond, manicured rose garden, and large property of land extending towards the open water, we felt that we were on our own private oasis. We made it a habit each night before dinner to take out the provided bikes to go on a family ride. We explored the nearby town centers, and rode along the water for miles. I wanted to take the kitchen back home with me, and the enormous RH farm table in the dining room is especially inviting. From watching the sunset each night on the large back patio, to the game room in the back, my family was truly at home. We hope that this property continues to be available to renters for years to come because I cannot imagine staying anywhere else during our future stays.

Wonderful Experience!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful experience to have stayed at your lovely home! The best morning view I can imagine anywhere! Loved getting up and having coffee overlooking the Oyster Pond and Atlantic Ocean! We spent several leisurely mornings in this lovely kitchen and breakfast area! With couples, this house was so great as we all felt that we could have our own space and yet gather in one of the several common areas - especially the "barn room" each evening for cocktails - again with an exceptional view! This home is also in a wonderful and private location yet close to activities and great places to dine! I think our favorite was the Glass Onion Restaurant. The game room was where we spent several evenings and had some great ping-pong competitions! The grounds are so beautiful and spacious I would love to bring our children and grandchildren back to enjoy this warm beautiful and spacious home. Our family plays bridge and this home has a perfect room for inside games too. Thank you so much for the use of this fabulous home! We will be back!!

Luxury Waterfront Home on Oyster Pond

  • 5 of 5

I have admired this house from afar forever – so I jumped (actually leaped) at the chance to stay there, even though it was winter!

On a 5 point scale, this house is a 10.

I would describe it as a cross between an ocean-side 5 STAR Hotel and a quaint seaside cottage. But, please, don’t mistake this house for a cottage.

It’s a magnificent home that’s sophisticated, comfortable and charming with every amenity you would want/need on vacation for the young and not so young family members who are fortunate enough to stay here: The gourmet kitchen with sweeping views, the dining room with the driftwood table that will accommodate the largest crowd (did I mention the adjacent wine cave?) the game-room, the family room with every modern technology, the library, the study, the laundry room(s) and of course, the adjoining relocated barn, complete with brick floors, overhead beams and floor-to-ceiling glass walls used as their sun room! You just can’t believe this house.

There’s a bedroom/bathroom suite on the first floor and once upstairs, each bedroom has their own private, custom bath and even more spectacular views.

There’s room for at least 10 adults and of course even more so with kids -- without the slightest hint of over crowding. There’s a separate place for everyone.

Each room has lovely views of the pond, or the English gardens, the patios, the ocean and even Martha’s Vineyard.

Once outside, you are within a short walking distance of a private ocean beach and adjacent to the house is the “Sea & Shining Sea Bike Path” that will lead you along the ocean to Woods Hole in one direction and through west/north Falmouth with cranberry bogs in the other.

And if this isn’t enough, this home is conveniently located within a 5 minute drive to Falmouth’s vibrant downtown filled with restaurants, quaint shops, book stores, old fashion ice cream parlors, a town green and everything spring, summer, winter and fall.

We were told that the main house was relocated from Maine in the 1930s. It’s impeccable, yet easy going. This is a very special place.

We were overjoyed to stay here even in the grey month of January.

You’ll fall in love (with this house) in old, Cape Cod. We did!

Thank you again!

Exceptional! Absolutely stunning!,

  • 5 of 5

We are just returning from a family gathering (various ages) and had the most wonderful experience renting 26 Sakonet! This large and magnificent Cape Cod home has 5 bedrooms, plus a sitting room and is located on an estate lot (2 acres), fronting Oyster Pond and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Martha's Vineyard. The home abuts the Shing Sea Bike Trail. It is about 100 yards away from the private beach area, easy walking distance on a paved road. The private beach area has an association's beach house, with facilities ( a big plus)! The home is spacious enough that the adults had room to gather as did the children and there was still room to be had if peace and quiet was what one needed! The kitchen is OUTSTANDING and perfectly appointed! Each morning you are greeted by a stunning view of Oyster Pond. The dining room with the wonderfully large table was perfect for dinner gatherings and great conversation as well as stunning water views. In addition to the traditional rooms, there is both a family room, and a game room with ping pong, football, electronic basketball and darts. The sun porch has stunning water views and was a wonderful place to gather at the end of the day! The yard is magnificent with a lovely formal garden and a grassy area large enough for whiffle ball, croquet, soccer, frisbee or football. There is also a new outdoor shower which I am sure will be lovely to use in the summer! The house is air conditioned and well heated as well as up to date in all respects. The interior decor was perfectly thought out - beautiful and functional furniture through out the house. The color palette is perfect for a waterfront home! The home has very large, open, and covered porches and a beautiful fenced area, off the kitchen, for small children to play. This home is PERFECT for entertaining, families would welcome the size and comfort. I can only imagine how beautiful a wedding would be in this location. The owners have really outdone themselves in providing a beautiful home for others to create wonderful memories. I would highly recommend this property and we are eager to return this summer!
