About Louis and Sandra Gusoff
Lou and Sandee Gusoff of Brighton, Michigan, purchased this property as a summer home. Lou grew up in the Gettysburg area and moved to Mi. as a young adult. After 39 years on the Detroit Fire Dept. Lou retired and thought about moving back to this house, but having eight grandchildren changed our plan. We had many great summers here with our three sons and continue to visit when possible. We decided to open our home so others could enjoy Gettysburg and the mountain area.
Louis and Sandra Gusoff purchased this Lodge in 1977
What makes this Lodge unique
We chose this property because we like the mountain views and being completely surrounded by forest and streams. It is also minutes away from the Battle of Monterey Pass, the confederate retreat from Gettysburg, the Appalachian Trail and the Mason Dixon Line. We enjoyed day trips to Washington D.C., Baltimore, Md. and Harpers Ferry.

Just what we needed for a family
The house was a very beautiful, almost cabin like. It really blended in well with the Civil War era/Gettysburg atmosphere that we were looking for. It was perfect for a family trip. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. We just ran to the grocery store and bought groceries. The house itself is about 20 minutes from the heart of Gettysburg. The owners were very nice and responsive. We would definitely stay there again.
House location great. The only AC is in the master bedroom. Everything else was great. Lots of pots, pans and grill. First two nights were tough but then it cooled off and was good.
We stayed in July and we loved it. The cabin was wonderful and everything that the pictures show. It was close to Gettsyburg and every where we wanted to go. We will be staying here again.
A bed was made but the sheets were disgusting. Unfortunately not seen until removing them.
Someone came to clean after we had arrived. Evidence of rodents and several cobwebs throughout showed us it was not ready for our arrival.
I find your claims very disturbing.
The reason you saw the housekeeper at 10am is she was putting the trash dumpster in its proper place after the pickup. She had cleaned the house previously. Had you arrived at your proper check in time you would not have seen her.
She thoroughly checks the house after each renter departs and changes all bedding including beds that appear not used.
As you can see from our other reviews our house is very clean and comfortable , we take great pride in trying to provide a great vacation experience.
We are sorry your experience was not what you expected.
We could not have picked a more perfect home to rent. The owners so super nice and allowed us to drop all of our luggage off before the check in time. The house and land were beautiful and so homey and comfortable. I can't say enough good things about our experience we had such a great vacation and we will be rebooking on our return trip.
This was a fantastic rental. It's close to the battlefield and other attractions without being too close. We didn't get a chance to spend a lot of time hanging out at the house but wish we had more time to do so - it's a beautiful setting and a unique home very well setup for groups. Super clean and cozy. We slept six people with no issue and had a great time. Highly recommend staying here.
Thank you, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay.
