Malta apartment by the beach, comfortable and fully air-conditioned

This two bedroom apartment is air conditioned and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a relaxed self-catered holiday. Consisting of an open plan kitchen/living area with cable TV, video and DVD with a good selection of videos and DVDs. Two bedrooms that can be set as double or twin(sleeps 5 persons + cot). One bathroom and separate shower room. This apartment is ideally situated just five minutes walk away from Malta's biggest and most popular beach, Mellieha Bay, (Ghadira Bay). Supermarkets, restaurants, shops, and pubs, water sports are all within walking distance. The bus route from Mellieha to Valletta is also very close. Ferries for Gozo and Comino are 7 minutes away by car or bus.

We would like to thank you so very much for the hire of your apartment, it was so very comfortable! We had an absolutely wonderful holiday and none of us wanted to come home. We had some very nice days in Malta. The apartment is clean and tidy and Josephine is very kind and helpful.

Mellieha is a nice village, but there is much more in Malta, we we could not visit since we have two small children.

A very clean apartment with all the amenities needed for a self-catering holiday. Good location, only a few minutes walk to the sandy beach of Mellieha, and on the bus route if you don't hire a car.

Owner's Response: The apartment is part of a quiet Court not only close to the beach with all the imanagible attractions, but forms part of Mellieha village, which wasawarded the European Award for Excellence as holiday destination. Once in Mellieha one can visit the following places of Interest: St. Paul's Islands, The Sanctuary Museum, Westreme Battery, Nature Reserve, St. Agatha Fortress or the Red Tower, Popeye Village, The Mellieha Fresh Water Spring, Manikata, Selmun Hamlet and Selmun Palace, War Shelters, Caves and Corbelled Huts and Fortifications. The apartment has also its private parking place. All visitors hosted at the apartment were satisfied, now it is your turn to trust us to make your holiday more worthed!

clean, well equipped, noisy,no view

The title says it all, this apartment was very clean and had a well equipped kitchen, including a washing machine. Unfortunately, our quiet, relaxing holiday was spoilt due to extremely loud, noisy and inconsiderate neighbours/residents and workmen carrying out major work in one of the apartments. The other minuses were the very small, internal balcony (so no view)and this was only about five metres away from the balcony/apartment opposite. We were unable to sit out, as really it was only big enough to hang out our washing. This meant that we spent a lot of time out of the apartment both day and night when at times we just wanted to stay in and relax. Also the lift was very temperamental and often did not work properly We didn't contact the owner about these issues while we were there as we couldn't see what, if anything could be done, especially regarding the noise problem. As frequent travellers to Malta we would not return to this apartment on our next visit.

Owner's Response: Dear future renters kindly read other reviews before you read this one! As you can see from the other positive reviews this particular review is a 'surprise'. The guests had booked 14 nights at a very reasonable price. They knew very well that it is an internal apartment and there is no view. Indeed all this information is in the advert description of this same apartment. So the comment about the missing view is really an abuse to harm the flat owner. Regarding the noise that these clients are mentioning it is to be noted that the guests had all my contact numbers and email and at no time did they contact me to inform me about this situation. As agreed after 7 nights I went to the apartment to pick up the dirty laundry. The couple were happily chatting and there was no noise at all in the whole building. When I asked Mrs E how was everything going she happily replied that all was well, they were having a great time and they were satisfied with the apartment. So maybe in the first week all was well? Then there were another 7 nights and I never recieved any call about noisy people and workmen. If these clients had contacted me the workmen would have been stopped. Some works were being done in one apartment for it was the low season and tenants have a right to redo their apartment. So lack of communication from these guest may have disturbed their own stay. How can the flat owner and building be blamed when these guests did not care to inform the flat owner about any disturbances! Only if the complaints are true! I wish to thank all the previous guest who were always pleased to stay at this apartment and their positive comments encourage me to continue renting my apartment!

Good location and an enjoyable stay.

The apartment is in a great location for the beach. Although there are some shops nearby I would recommend a quick bus trip up into the village to get most of the things you need. the buses are frequent and cheap and the bus stop is very close (2 mins away). One point to note is that the location isn't correct when you zoom into the map it points to a location on a different street. the following link should point to the correct location. If you paste 35.965802, 14.359982 into a Google maps search you'll get the correct location back. The apartment itself is good with plenty of space but no view unfortunately. Josephine met us on arrival and explained all the facilities. I can recommend this apartment for couples or small families.

Lovely family apartment

Overall our experience of this apartment was very positive. It suited all our needs and we had no issues. It helped us have a great holiday with our children.

Josephine had the place very clean and was waiting for us when we arrived in Mellieha. It is just off the road and a short walk to the beach, and lots of parking space in front of the apartments.

Two short sets of stairs gets you to the apartment with a lift also an option. The open plan style is great as we have children and they could run about. Josephine let us use the beach toys, umbrella and mats which was very useful. The bedrooms were nice and the two toilets a must for a family. Shower was ok, just enough water pressure, and the bath was fine. Washing machine worked very well and helped a lot.

Lots of plates etc in the kitchen and the balcony was good for getting the beach stuff dry. We did not use the aircon unit in the living room but it was working.

The apartment block was not the most modern but was very well located and suited all our needs. There was a mini market just round the corner which had everything you would need including 'kinnie' and 'twistees'!!. Top tip: if you have a car drive up the hill into town to pick up a hot pastizzi from 'champ' and fresh Malta bread from 'George's bakery' for your breakfast!!

We had a great holiday and will be using the apartment again for future holidays.

Lovely holiday apartment with everything you need

We were delighted with this apartment and Josephine was fantastic in the run up to our stay and whilst we were on holiday. The apartment was clean, well maintained and spacious and had everything we needed for a wonderful, relaxing stay. We hired a car as we wanted to be able to get off the beaten track but there are bus stops just outside the apartment which were also useful. There are some lovely restaurants within walking distance, a convenience store round the corner and the beach was a 5 minute walk. We would certainly recommend a holiday in Malta in this apartment.

My fiance and I stayed here the week leading up to our wedding and wanted a clean, airy flat with a balcony to sit out on with a glass of vino to help get through our preparations - What we got was a very dark, very intrusively overlooked, un-fit apartment, desperate for some TLC.

When I inspected the flat on arrival I noticed the toilet seat in the main bathroom was all frayed underneath - This is very unhygienic in my eyes. When I called the owner to tell her about it, she laughed and told me that it was old tenants who damaged it and that no one had complained before - I felt so angry but yet she did not seem to bothered and only offered to change it if we, ourselves removed it for her as she did not know how!...I mentioned a few other issues that I wasn't happy about in the flat (stated below) but yet again she showed no interest in caring, apart from offering a set of double bed sheets. Customer service was nil during this entire conversation about the flat issues.

Here are my negatives points in short;

1- Chewed toilet seat (as stated above)

2- Very bad drain smell which fills the flat coming from the bathrooms.

3- The Balcony so small - isn't even worth putting in the specs! as all it is is a bundle of washing lines.

4- No Privacy and Very Overlooked- flat and balcony opposite is about 2 meters away, facing you! All curtains need to stay drawn otherwise they can see straight in!

5- Lift was constantly out of order -and when it wasn't you didn't feel safe in it! wires all showing and very small and dirty.

6- Main bed is 2 singles pushed together - NOT '1 Extra Lg.Double bed' as stated!

7- Nowhere to put your clothes! 2 Tiny wardrobes, half full themselves with owners stuff, no 'proper' draws- had to keep most clothes in suitcases and on spare beds.

We had many friends staying in various flats in the same area and all of them had better places than us! This flat was the ongoing joke of our wedding holiday and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Owner's Response: This review is very untrue to the actual facts. The apartment is full of sunlight during the day, very clean, all mattresses and both sofas are comfortable. The person (fiancé) who booked the apartment knew well that there were 4 single beds, 1 bathroom with washing machine, 1 shower room with toilet, living area with fully equipped kitchen and dinning area. The window bedrooms are equipped with total sun block blinds and a set of curtains too. The balcony opposite is 10 meters away much more than stated by the law. In the advert it is also explained that it is an internal flat with one balcony. The roof with the hill/church views is for all to enjoy. The lift is safe, functional and serviced regularly. There are no visible wires. The father in law to whom I entrusted 2 sets of keys, inspected the apartment and thanked me for he found the flat as described on the advert, clean and with much more than the necessary items requested for a holiday flat. I never had any complains about the apartment. On the contrary guests (who were always foreigners) complement me about the cosy and comfort environment of the apartment, the closeness to the biggest sandy beach in Malta, all the services needed are within reach and the building is quiet and safe! Maybe a 5 star hotel room would have been better for this particular guest (Maltese). EM I suggest next time you book a hotel room if you do not wish to enjoy the comfort of a whole apartment to suit your needs. Moreover it would have been much wiser to speak up with the person who booked the apartment before trying to damage people. Also this couple got a discount on the price notwithstanding that it was the peak season! This particular couple I have never met personally (not my choice). I make it a point to meet all my guests, show them around the area, see that they are comfortable, offer my help and suggest that they can call me any time if need be. Thank you for the opportunity to clear things!
