About Kyle Quintia
Josh and Jill are both originally from Columbia Falls, Montana, and currently live in Seattle with their 3 children. Josh is an architect at a high-end residential & commercial architecture firm, and was able to use his experience as a both a builder and designer to make this home into something that fit both the couple's esthetic and creature comforts while on a budget. To make their vacation home in Montana a reality, they remodeled an existing home on the property and worked sporadically over the course of 2 years on it, traveling back and forth from Seattle during vacations to bring materials, fixtures, furniture and custom built-ins that were made in Seattle by Josh. An interesting feature is the dining booth table and seats that were handmade from salvaged wood from the original home's wood siding! Jill owns a kid's outdoor accessories company called FORT, and enjoys snowboarding and skiing with her family in the winter, hiking in Glacier National Park and playing in Flathead Lake in the summer.

Now, its available for others to use as their "Base Camp" as they embark on fishing trips, hiking adventures, skiing, rafting, and enjoying the abundance of amazing restaurants in such a small area.

Perfect house & location
This house was perfect for my family. We chose it because of the location & we were not disappointed! All of the comforts of home in one of the most beautiful areas of the US! The manager, Kyle, was excellent at communicating with us and checking to make sure everything was perfect. The decor was a plus & the extras annemidities made our stay pleasant. We will come back to this rental!
Clean, modern and comfy stay
Lovely home in a great location!
Great home in Columbia Falls
Beautifully decorated home conveniently situated on the east side of Columbia Falls, close to Glacier NP. The house is very comfortable and smartly laid out. The decorations are somewhat modern and very pleasing. The overall ambience is just right, quiet, comfortable, welcoming and stylish. Highly recommended. Unfortunately we visited when the wild fires were at their worst, so the smoke was bad and many parts of Glacier NP were closed. However we saw enough to promise ourselves another trip in the future.
Quiet, cute, and comfortable!
I wish we would have had time to enjoy this home more but we spent all of the daylight in Glacier. As far as necessities, this place has you covered. Beds are comfortable, the linens were soft, and there was plenty of room for us to sprawl out after our hiking adventures. We were able to have ample hot showers and the neighborhood was quiet, which was important to us. The kitchen has enough cookware and variety to prep meals. Due to food intolerances, I have to pack my own cooking oils and spices. If you plan on cooking, ask what it stocked. I didn't see many choices for spices/seasonings, but maybe that's because I never truly look for them anymore. The location was great too, it's close to town and to Glacier and easy to navigate. GPS took us to the end of the road, which wasn't correct, but it wasn't hard to find our temporary home. We hope to use this house again for an upcoming trip. Book it, you won't be disappointed.
Blast off from base camp.
Fantastic home. This place is actually their second home so you can tell there is serious pride in ownership and it is very well stocked. There was an incident with the oven. I emailed them and they promptly addressed the situation. They had a catastrophe with some muffins last time they visited and simply forgot to clean the mess after the oven cooled off. They offered to have it cleaned promptly. We decided we could live without the oven. It was relieving that the oven was not simply filthy but mere oversight we have all done. For the record: their smoke alarms work extremely well. This house was so comfortable I would even recommend it as a getaway for a couple even though it has three bedrooms. The bedding was luscious.
Pleasant house in Columbia Falls
We stayed in this house in Columbia Falls for a week in July. The house is an extensively remodeled older house and we had a pleasant stay. Kyle the agent for the property was good to deal with and very helpful. I equate 3 stars with an average property. If the owners had changed a few things I would have given the property 4 stars (above average). While we were staying on the property it was quite warm in Columbia Falls. The bedroom windows had screens on them allowing them to be opened at night to allow the place to cool down however there were no screens on the kitchen and dining room windows and therefore they couldn't be opened as we did not wish to allow mosquitoes into the house. Had we been able to open these windows the house would have cooled off faster. The kitchen eating area also smelled somewhat of fish as I think the previous occupants must have been frying fish. This smell would have dissipated faster had we been able to open up the kitchen and dining room windows. Some but not all of the bedroom windows had blinds on them so it was very bright in the bedrooms in the mornings. It would have been nice to have had blinds on all of the bedroom windows. There was a nice deck at the back of the house however there were only two patio chairs available to sit on the deck. We were a group of five so three additional chairs would have been appreciated. All of these issues could be easily solved by the owner. Finally the one quirky thing about this house was that the countertops in the kitchen are made of wood and one had to be very careful during the stay to not cut on the counter tops, get any water on the counter tops or to stain the counter tops. The agent for the property warned me about these counter tops before I rented the property however I still found it a little stressful making sure the counter tops were not damaged. It reminded me of the amusing fictional book "The Care of Wooden Floors" by Will Wiles. This is a book about a protagonist who goes to apartment sit a friend's house. The friend has recently installed hardwood floors into the house and the protagonist spends his entire stay trying not to damage the floors.
Columbia Falls is the Gateway to Glacier and an incredible location to access all Northwest Montana's outdoor activities. It lies along the Flathead River and is centrally located between Whitefish, Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake.
