Beautiful and comfortable
We had a great weekend at the Guest House on Locust. The interior of the house was clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of us. Everything we needed was there and the whole booking, check in and check out was very easy. We had three generations of women enjoying our family annual ladies trip. We walked to the river to enjoy the view and visited a couple antique stores. There are a few nice restaurants within walking distance and we drove to a nearby winery to listen to live music. Thanks so much!
So glad you all had a nice time.
Food and wine!
This place has to be one of the best VRBO! Clean and cossey. Had everything you would need for a trip. Tons of great food and winerys around. Will be staying again!
Home away from home
The house is absolutely charming and well appointed. Also it was very clean. We came in for a family wedding and it couldn't have worked out better.
Restored Historic Home
This is an historic home that has been restored with attention to detail. The rooms are large and well appointed and the host has provided everything you need for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed everything about the house and felt at home the minute we walked in the door. Our host, Cindy, was gracious and thoughtful and even offered us the following night after our reserved stay as we were unable to get to the house the first night due to road conditions.
On a separate note, I warn you to be wary of the trip cancellation insurance offered by VRBO. We purchased the insurance as Winter Storm Jupiter was predicted for the weekend of our stay. When I contacted the insurance company the day before our trip to cancel, I was told the insurance would not cover cancellation due to bad weather unless the roads were officially closed for a period of 24 hours. With this in mind, we moved forward with the trip and ended up on I-70 on solid ice and had to stay the first night of our trip in a motel. Even though this was declared one of the worst ice storms in recent history, at no point were the roads officially closed for 24 hours. This is apparently the insurance company's loophole to get out of paying claims.
Fabulous House-Next best thing to childhood home
Four siblings and their families gathered here over the Christmas holidays and all were duly impressed. This house is well-appointed, has wonderful accoutrements, and is perfectly situated with easy walking access to the riverfront and downtown. Upon arriving, we all were pleasantly surprised by not one, but two beautifully decorated Christmas trees and tasteful house décor. Even with the occupancy of 14, it did not feel cramped and both kids and adults were able to cohabitate comfortably and happily. The high ceilings and architectural features have been carefully preserved and there is ample seating for meals and entertaining.
Any suggestions I had were thoughtfully received and appreciated by Cindy. I would highly recommend this property.
Great home for a girl's weekend getaway
We so enjoyed your home. There was plenty of room for all of us especially around the big kitchen table for playing games. We loved the décor. Everything was clean, beds comfortable. And great location for wineries and restaurants.
Located in downtown Washington MO, this home is walking distance to the river front, train station, restaurants, and all the various festivals held in downtown Washington. Also just a short drive to many area winery's.
