Recently renovated, the Wonderama Ranch offers visitors exceptional comfort in a Gothic desert setting with majestic wide open vistas. Fenced and on 5 Acres, the homestead is close to town and shopping and just 10 minutes away from the Joshua Tree National Park North Entrance. NEW: The cabin now has unlimited internet via Mojave Wifi. You can choose to disconnect, but you don't have to.
The homestead cabin is exceptionally cozy and features a king size bed that is new and super comfortable. Every detail of the cabin has been placed with an eye for comfort, functionality, and design. The kitchen is well equipped with a coffee maker, microwave, and dishware. Make spaghetti or BBQ your protein of choice. Satellite TV, a DVD player, and WiFi ensure your connectivity.
Outside there is an extra large patio area with a table and chairs and two lounge chairs. There is also a side porch with a table and two chairs. Both are perfect areas to relax, sip wine and watch the desert light. Sunsets are a full on theatrical event here. The cabin is enclosed from the street by gated fence. Also on this 5-acre parcel is a fire pit for your night time storytelling - stargazing pleasure.
If the cabin is available on the dates that you want, you can go ahead and instantly book it online, even if you are booking with your well-behaved pet friends (no extra fee).

About Ken Sitz
My name is Ken Sitz and I am the manager of the Encanto Cabin and the recently renovated Wonderama Ranch (2015). I've always been a big fan of the high desert and have been coming out here since the 80's. I'm following in the footsteps of Jeffrey Perry who remodeled many popular vacation cabins – notably the Sapphire Ranch and Cabin 51. In early 2013, Jeffrey was approached by Dana Desselle, another big fan of the high desert and the owner of DesertLand, to remodel the Encanto Cabin. The old homestead cabin was in sad shape, just a falling down uninhabitable heap really, but the potential of the setting was obvious. The renovation road was winding as remodels tend to be, but we are quite proud of the resulting cabin and everyone who sees it concurs – it is simple and comfortable and the setting is simply stunning.
Ken Sitz purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Ken Sitz chose Wonder Valley
The owner of DesertLand loves Wonder Valley. This part of the high desert is so pristine and the Wonderama Ranch setting is superior in depth and wide angle scope. The light changes dramatically on the landscape and it is VERY hypnotic.
What makes this Cabin unique
The quiet hush of the desert. The brilliant sky. An opportunity to unplug and be human and WONDER....

Nice retreat away from the normal hotel experience and close to Joshua Tree.
Attention to detail was great. Everything we needed was there for us. Internet and cell service was good. Supplies, kitchen items, and bathroom items all there for us. Air conditioner cooled great and fans were available to move the air around. Patio areas were perfect for relaxing. I would suggest an outdoor blind to keep the sun out in the morning when drinking coffee as you watch the sunrise. But that was not keep me from wanting to stay again. Rich... SJ, CA
Cozy, peaceful, beautiful desert retreat.
Cool place, super quiet and private, lovely views with lots of windows. Comfortable bed. Nice to have a bathtub. Great lanai with lounge chairs and barbecue, fire pit with pinon logs. Ken the manager was very helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Great weekend getaway!
Beautiful place, views, and experience. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond if we needed anything at all.
We loved our stay at the Wonderama Ranch. The location is wonderful, with excellent privacy and views while located only about 10-15 minutes from Joshua Tree. The home was also very clean and came with everything one would need. We hope to return and stay here for all future trips to the area!
An amazing place to get away
If you're looking for silence and seclusion, this is your place. 360 views of breathtaking sunrises/sunsets, and the chiminea offered the perfect place to relax by the fire at the end of the day. Between the comfortable mattress and a complete lack of noise from civilization, we got some of the best sleep we've had in ages; and having a full kitchen and a roomy bathroom did not go unappreciated. The house is just a short distance from the park, and a reasonable drive from JT/Yucca Valley. There's an abundance of great places to see. We had such a great time during our stay and can't wait to come back again. Thanks for having us!
Loved everything about Wonderama Ranch. It is wonderfully located, just a few minutes from Joshua Tree National Park, yet isolated enough to have peace away from the tourist hordes. The kitchen is fully stocked, so cooking was easy, and there was plenty of space for my dog to roam and lay in the sun. If you choose to bring your pet, you should know the yard is entirely fenced so there is no danger of coyotes entering the yard. There were zero problems with water pressure or temp, and the bathroom has plenty of space. The bed was SUPER comfortable, and the place has plenty of extra blankets and pillows. We had a lovely stay, and fully recommend.
Just 10 minutes away from the Joshua Tree National Park North Entrance. Close to the towns of 29 Palms, Joshua Tree, and Yucca Valley. The sweet and sleepy desert town of 29 Palms has shopping, the 29 Palms Inn, a casino, site seeing and a great little museum.
