Come enjoy our recently renovated 1,500 sq. ft. lake house on Kangaroo Lake. This home maintains its original 1940's cottage charm with the classic Door County stone fireplace, cedar walls, and wood floors. The house comfortably accommodates 8-12 guests with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The dining room has a lakeside view and seating for 12. There is plenty of space for outdoor dining, lawn games, and relaxing. *Satellite TV and WiFi provided*.
The first floor master bedroom has a queen size bed, its own private bathroom and a patio facing the lake. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms and another full bathroom. The first bedroom has 2 twin beds, the second bedroom has a full bed, and the large third bedroom which faces the lake has a queen size bed and full futon. There is also a queen size sofa bed in the living room and a half bathroom on the first floor.
Kangaroo Lake is an 1,156 acre, spring-fed lake with a maximum depth of 12 feet. Catch fish from the dock, causeway or one of the boats provided (canoe, kayak, paddle board, and fishing boat). The lake's sandy bottom is ideal for wading and playing in the water. The water temperature is nice and warm around 15 degrees warmer than Lake Michigan.
The lake house is just minutes away from a golf course, restaurants, shops, and entertainment. There is much to do in Door County, but you may be content to spend the day at the lake house, playing in the water, boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, or just relaxing. At the end of the day enjoy watching the sun set over the lake or sitting by the campfire.
This place is great for families with small children as we do provide pack'n play, jumper, stroller, and high chair for your convenience.

My wife and I met at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and now reside in the Twin Cities with our three children. We enjoy traveling and exploring new places.
Ryan and Maureen Sundeen purchased this cottage in 2015
Our family vacationed in Door County and fell in love with the area. We were very excited to be able to purchase this beautiful property on the lake to spend time together with our family and share with others who visit the area.
Beautiful waterfront property on the "quiet" side of the peninsula but centrally located to everything that Door County has to offer.
The owners of the property know how to make their guests feel at home with all the ingredients of a home away from home. The amenities furnished inside and out made our stay comfortable, relaxed and welcoming. Upon entering we could tell that it was well-maintained and clean. Their welcome note and basket was such a nice touch. Even though there were only four adults in our party, we could tell how a family with small and/or older children would truly find the accommodations and thoughtful child-centered amenities quite amazing. The outside amenities would truly add to family fun as well. The description of the property is accurate, but upon arriving we found it to be beyond our expectations.
We certainly hope to return again next year.
We had a great time at the Lakeside house! The house had plenty of room for us to spread out and the Sundeen family made sure the house was well stocked with anything we might need in the house, kitchen or by the water! The lake was a perfect place for our four year old to splash around. It was shallow, warm and not too wavy in Kangaroo Lake. The boat house had several inflatables we used, along with a paddle board, motor boat, canoe and tandem kayak. We used it all! We sat by the fire pit a few nights and definitely made good use of the grill and picnic table with a view of the lake.
The house was well-located and only a short drive to Baileys Harbor (we found the grocery store there and a little beach), Jacksonport (cute farmer's market with amazing corn and baked goods! Nice little beach right at the park)), and also to Sister Bay (we loved Wild Tomato and Door County Creamery), Fish Creek, etc. It's even walking distance to Coyote Roadhouse restaurant, that we really enjoyed.
Sleeping quarters were adequate and all bedding being provided made for way less packing for our family! The house did not have AC (which I would have enjoyed being 7 1/2 months pregnant), but the whole house fan seemed to really bring in the cooler evening air, and plenty of box fans were provided that we used at night.
The only downside to the property is that it's closer to the road that one might like, but we really didn't mind it. The only traffic was really families bringing their kids to fish from the road in Kangaroo Lake.
Really a perfect vacation property for our family. We're hoping to be back next year!
The Sundeen family was very easy to work with, and provided quite a nice experience at the house.
The best vacation house we've rented in Door County so far!
The owners have provided many little extras such as coffee filters, Kleenex, some soaps and laundry supplies that make it more relaxed right from the first day. The cabin is well maintained and supplied with enough chairs, dishes etc. for a big group. The yard is right on the lake with a beautiful view--especially while watching the grandkids play for hours on the paddleboard and three person kayak provided by the Sundeens. The water toys really made it so much fun for our water loving group. We enjoyed everything about our stay.
The Sundeen's thought of everything! Kitchen was well equipped to meet our cooking needs. Bedrooms are nice size and beds are comfy. Loved our time there!
Great rental for families and convenient location. There is plenty of space for gathering outside and inside and it is well maintained. The space outside is large enough for the children to play games while the adults relax in the shade.. The picnic table, patio table and chairs, and benches provide plenty of outside seating. Inside there is a large table for gathering and eating and you can watch the sunset over the lake. We are 3 generations with 5 young boys and we all had a great time. Having your own dock we were able to bring our jetskis and spent hours in and on the water. We enjoyed fishing and one of our grandsons was able to catch his first fish. It was nice to have the boat, canoe, kayak and paddle board available and they were used by all ages. The lake house kitchen is well equipped and the spices were a nice addition. We have rented this lake house for several years and Ryan and Maureen are great to deal with and go out of their way to be accommodating. We plan to rent again next year.
I loved the accommodations and the quaintness of the place. Beds were comfortable and the space was fabulous. Loved being on the lake. I enjoyed the location of the cabin to all the Harbors. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place.
