What a gem of a vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

We had 13 people in the lodge for a week and couldn't have had a better time or experience. I agree with the other reviewers...the photos don't do it justice. It is really lovely. The decor is great. Very Adirondack but very contemporary and fun. There are so many places to hang out outside...the front deck, the deck overlooking the lake, the sun room and the beach. Endless possibilities. There is a hot tub right on the deck and one couldn't have a lovelier view as you soak.

The inside is a great layout as well. The kitchen has everything you would need. The dining room has a huge table for all to get around, the living area is lovely with the fireplace right there. The kids loved the theater room.

Not only is the inside of the lodge great but the grounds are very well maintained. Everything is ship shape! There is a huge garbage shed, always a concern with a large group but we never had to worry about running out of room.

The little drive down to the beach was fun and easy but the path through the woods was nice as well. The beach has a great dock for floating or just sitting enjoying the sunset. The lake side of the house and the beach get the lovely sunsets. The beach cabin had plenty of chairs, life vests and some great canoes and kayaks to use. We used the firepit and it was set up nicely for evening fun. Again, everything in great shape.

We really enjoyed our time there and even though it rained a bit on us, we were so happy to be together in this great house that had lots of places to enjoy and be together. Thanks Huda and family for the great time.

Fantastic space for a large group

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay with our group of 13 adults over Christmas. We loved the house and found the facilities worked well for all of us. Even though it was record cold temperatures, we still enjoyed going down to the little ‘house’ by the lake. We were very warm and comfortable inside as well. The house is designed well for large groups (would even work well for smaller groups).

The owners were great to deal with, very accommodating and helpful.

The caretaker, Matt, was great. He was friendly and helpful. The one minor problem we had with the house was fixed promptly with no inconvenience to us

Beautiful Adirondack Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We had 18 people in the lodge counting kids for New Year's weekend and had an almost perfect experience. I think Huda recently updated the photos which is good, because they didn't do it justice. It is really lovely. The decor is great, but bedrooms could use a mirror. Very Adirondack but also contemporary and fun. The commercial stove and oven had a couple quirks, but we managed. The kitchen frig was packed, but there is another frig in the garage one can use. Soaking in the hot tub on the deck during a light snow with the lake view was breathtaking. The adults had a little trouble with the theater room tv, but the kids figured it out easily!

We really enjoyed our time there and even though it was very cold outside, the house was very warm (heating system and fireplace). The price is a bit steep, but for a house this size and shape, you can see why. Thanks Huda and family for the great time.

Adirondack experience

  • 3 of 5

We stayed at Huda’s camp in late September. The weather was warm but perfect. The camp is very spacious and accommodated eight people very comfortably. The view from the balcony is beautiful. Unfortunately being just off the road did afford some loud road noise during the day. For the most part we had an enjoyable stay.

I do have some suggestions. The path to the lake is very steep and hard to maneuver. We had to use our car to transport most of our party down and back from the beach area. Definitely bring water shoes as the lake is brackish and has a muck bottom. I would suggest a swimming ladder be attached to the dock to prevent having to walk in and out of the shoreline. Also you may need to bring chairs both for the beach area and upper deck if you have more than four in your party.

The theater room is wonderful but unfortunately we had trouble following the extensive instructions to turn on the electronics. I did learn later on from the owner that when faced with this problem all we had to do was unplug everything and it would reboot. I would suggest adding that step to the written instructions given. I would also add if you have concerns to call Huda early on.

In spite of some miscommunication and some unfortunate circumstances we all had a wonderful experience and would recommend this home to anyone who wants to be closely located to all the Adirondacks has to offer.

September Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the beautiful house for a weekend in late September. The house was amazing and had room for everyone. The back deck looking at the lake was perfect. All the rooms were spacious and clean. The cinema room was a favorite for many. The kitchen was great especially with the professional grade oven. The beach, dock, and lean to were the icing on the cake. We had 90 degree weather which was unheard of for this time of the year. I will be looking to book this house for another family event.

Enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

Thank you for your professionalism, accessibility, and beautiful home. We had a very good week and enjoyed the amenities of your home. We had a great experience and the home was just as it is pictured. Our only recommendations to make your home a "5 star" would be the comfort of the beds and refrigerator space for a home that sleeps as many as this one does. The beach area was not easily accessible from the home and it was rocky to enter the water.

Thank you for opening your home to us.

Owner's Response: We so appreciate our guests' feedback, which we take very seriously. We do feel the need to respond to this review as it may be misleading. Eight of the mattresses in the house are new and top quality. The others are twins, which are less new, but in good condition. There are two large fridge/freezers which service this house: one in the kitchen and one in the garage. One may need to shop again if these don't fit all the items for a week rental. We do inform people they can walk the 300 feet footpath to the beach or drive on our private drive and park there. Our house is on the side of the mountain which provides amazing views, and we are also fortunate to have lakefront access and a beach. Our beach is all sand and no rocks. The shallow water at the beach is also all sand and no weeds. Water shoes may be helpful if one doesn't want contact with the bottom of the lake.
