Great property in the Adirondacks

  • 5 of 5

The property listing on VRBO was very complete and helpful. Photos of the house and surrounding property gave us a good idea of what is was like. Seeing it in person was even better. Plenty of space for everyone (12 adults and 6 children). Great room / kitchen/ dining area was large enough to accommodate everyone. Sun room and deck provided wonderful views of the lake and mountains. Home theater, exercise room, game room and children's play room were all a big hits. Great beach for the kids. Large grassy front yard provided 'running around space' for the kids.

House was very clean and well furnished. Customer service was excellent. Huda was very responsive to email inquiries / text messages. Local property manager was also very responsive. Property was accessible via private drive from the state highway. Plenty of parking space at the house. Town of Tupper Lake was nearby for shopping needs. We took a day trip to the Lake Placid area. Also went to WILD! one morning - which everyone, especially the kids, enjoyed. Took advantage of nearby hiking trails and golf course. Rented a motor boat for the week and explored the lake. We really didn't need or want to travel too much since the property and location provided all we were looking for in a great, relaxing vacation spot.

We found this property to be a perfect place for our family reunion and would absolutely recommend it to others.

Beautiful home on a peaceful lake

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from this beautiful home on Tupper Lake. Having never been to the area, we didn't know what to expect, but this house, amenities and location far exceeded my expectations. The house was everything we could have hoped for and more. The view from the deck, out over the lake is breathtaking, especially in the evening as the sun is setting. The house itself is so spacious and well taken care of....the gourmet kitchen is perfect and the dining area allows for a large group to eat together. There are plenty of beds to accommodate extended families, as well as a full downstairs with home theater, workout and game rooms. The sunroom was perfect to have coffee and read a book.

The hot tub was the perfect ending to the day where you can turn off the outside lights and watch the stars. You can walk the foot path down to the lake, or drive down if you want to take coolers and food. The lean to provides a place to eat and store things. There are enough chairs and room on the dock for a family to sit and look out over the lake. The use of the kayaks and canoes was terrific, as well as renting some SUPs (stand up paddle boards) if you're interested. The huge fire pit is a great place to relax and roast some marshmallows too. The property far exceeded my expectations and would love to stay again some time. The owners were very quick to reply with questions before and during our stay, and we had the pleasure to meet them as our week long stay came to a close. I would highly recommend this property!!

Awesome family vacation

  • 5 of 5

This house was a wonderful, spacious rental on Tupper Lake. The kids used the kayaks and canoes in the cove and many fish were caught on the dock. The swimming from the dock was great too. We even ate dinner lakefront using the grill there. The movie room was the perfect spot to watch the Olympics. The hot tub was a great place to star gaze at night. As for the Tupper Lake area, there was so much to do nearby. We hiked Coney and Amoersand Mountains, went white water rafting, and did the rail explorers in Saranac Lake. We also visited the Wild Center 5 minutes away and enjoyed Skyline ice cream. Huda, the owner, was very responsive to any questions or requests. If we are back in the Adirondacks, I would certainly rent this home again.

A dream site for our family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We loved this spacious, well-appointed lakeside home for our family reunion. Our family members had spent childhood summers on a little island on Follensby Clear Pond, nearby, but the family has grown and this home was perfect for a get together. It had everything we wanted - a large common living space and kitchen, deck with hot tub, picnic tables, and unparalleled views of Tupper Lake and the mountains, and comfortable bedrooms, kids playroom, exercise room, and media viewing "theater." Eight bedrooms easily accommodated 16 adults and 3 children, including one in a crib. We were able to canoe and swim right from our private dock, and there was a sandy beach for children to build sand castles. As the house overlooks the lake, we heard loons every evening. It was a perfect place to watch the Perseid meteor shower as well. The house allows lots of space for quiet conversation as well, on the sun porch, deck, game room, and by the water. It has two sets of washers and dryers, two TVs and DVDs, and all appliances you need. We loved having this ideal "home base" as we hiked, canoed, and swam in the Tupper Lake area. We cannot recommend this home highly enough - we are already talking about a return to the house and Tupper Lake!

Super Rental!

  • 5 of 5

My extended family and myself recently rented this home on Tupper Lake for a week. The home was very clean, well maintained, comfortable, and spacious! During the week there was any where from 13-17 people there and there was plenty of space for everyone! The basement area was a big hit with the kids, the adults had plenty of room to cook together in the kitchen, and we often started the morning out with coffee in the sunroom. It is just a little outside the town of Tupper Lake where we were able to get groceries, ice-cream, and pizza. We also went to the Wild Center, which I would recommend highly to visit. The waterfront area was also enjoyed by all. The younger kids enjoyed playing in the sand. The older children and adults swam many times in the the lake and a few times they even swam across the lake and back. There is a grill at the water and we used that a couple of times to make the best burgers and dogs ever. We also loved using the kayaks and the canoes. There was also plenty of room in the front yard to play games. We were a little surprised by the walk to the lake from the house, it wasn't too bad going down but rather steep on the way up. Thanks goodness for the road that could be used to get there, we would load a car up with all of our beach stuff and my husband would drive it down, he never could have done the walk. I kept saying it was good exercise to make up for all the eating I was doing! One suggestion - the sun shines right in the lakeside windows later in the day and makes the house very warm and it was hard to sit in some places because the sun is in your eyes, so perhaps an awing on the back deck would help. But nevertheless we all had a great time at the lodge and would recommend it to anyone! Huda, the owner, always responded to any questions that I had quickly and was very easy to work with. We are still working out when and where we may want to go next summer, and if we go back to the Adirondacks we certainly would rent this lodge again!
