About the property

Guest House for Two; Book Alone or Together with Main House 500065

Bruadair's (Scottish Gaelic for 'dream') Guest House is perfect for a couple alone or to combine with the Bruadair main house. Newly constructed, elevated and tres chic, this guest house has fantastic views plus its own spot on the sandy beach.

An open plan and has bedroom, living area, bath and kitchenette (no oven/range) and its own deck, this is a perfect to getaway alone or to maintain a little privacy within a larger gathering.

A Glass sliding door highlight the views whether you are cooking, playing games, reading or watching television. Step out the glass sliders, a dozen steps down the deck and the private beach awaits you.

With 2 kayaks and 2 bicycles included in the rental, touring the Bay, the estuaries or the Park is a breeze. Ospreys, herons, bald eagles, pelicans and other natural beauties are outside the door or tucked away in nearby estuaries where kayaking in a peaceful setting is magnificent.

Scotland Yards makes your stay easy. We provide guests with towels, linens, kitchen supplies, paper towels, soaps, shampoo and everything you need to truly get away. Just bring yourselves and your food and your personal effects.

Our guests frequently comment that the rarely want to leave once they arrive. For those who so choose to venture out, a lovely local winery, historic St Mary's City, various historical plantations and other destinations such as Solomon's Island, Leonardtown and St. George's Island provide entertainment.

With a private beach in front while nestled in a wooded, small beach community, guests have the best of woods and water. This is not a boardwalk! But, If you want luxury accommodations, waves lulling you to sleep, kayaking and otherwise enjoying a secluded beach setting, Bruadair's guest house beckons you.

5 Star!!

When we settled-in (about 10:30pm) we couldn't find the remotes to operate the televisions and we were experiencing difficulties with the heat. We called the property managers and they responded immediately. The place is intimate and very conducive for a romantic get-a-way with your spouse. The ocean view is phenomenal!!! I would strongly recommend this property for married couples, and I would definitely visit again.

We throughly enjoyed our time away! The property was well kept, uniquely designed, and all around a pleasant guest house. Access to the beach, and the sunrises, was a definite plus and the quiet environment was very peaceful. Thanks for making this a wonderful vacation!

Perfect Place for 1 or 2

If you need a getaway or a week of peace this is the place to go. Beach [bay waters] at end of your walkway. No crowds. Not busy. The rental unit is tastefully decorated with basic needs. Refrigerator, microwave, electric stovetop, coffee maker, blender, dishes, utensils etc. Dining, living room area flows into bedroom area. Large bathroom with closet, nice shower and washer/dryer. Deck, sliding doors, windows allow for fantastic views of the water, sun and moon. Entrance at top of stairs, outside shower and storage area. Parking for one car. Bikes available as well as kayaks. This was our second trip to the area and staying in property owned by Ms Binzel. Definitely will return as time permits. Our dog loved his time on the beach. Very peaceful area with wooded surroundings, lots of nature. Point Lookout Park within walking/biking distance. Things supplied include: dish detergent, paper towels, trash bags, bed linens, towels, shampoo, shower gel, soap. Bring paper plates, cups, glasses unless you don't mind hand washing dishes.

Relax on vacation with all the comforts of home

My husband, our dog, and I just got back from our stay at the guest house. The property is amazing, beautiful, and only steps from the beach! The house is equally amazing!

We decided that we would buy our own food and cook for the majority of our trip. There wasn't an oven, but an electric range which served our needs perfectly. The kitchen has all the basics you'll need to get the job done. There is a charcoal grill available for use, we cooked pizzas, steak, and chicken on it.

The bed is so comfy as well as the couch, which at first sight I didn't think would be, but ended up being the perfect spot for a mid-afternoon nap!

Having the washer/dryer was so helpful!! I didn't realize they had one so I would have packed a lot less! They even have detergent pods available. I did purchase more and leave them.

If there was one complaint, I mean not even a true complaint, would be the shower. The head was a rain type of shower head and being in the beach there isn't a whole lot of pressure so it took me forever to rinse my hair. There was nowhere to put soap inside the shower. I ended up buying a cheap hanging shower thing because the soap would literally be covered in sand from lying on the shower floor. Even though there is an outside shower to rinse before you come in you will still bring sand in somehow!

Dogs are welcome, but not allowed on the future which is understandable. He enjoyed sleeping under the bed which is set atop a beautiful constructed platform. Our pup had never been swimming before and loved the beach!! Its big enough that you feel like you're by yourself and small enough that if you want to mingle with the guests of the other houses you can easily do so.

I don't know if other guests were bothered, but the horseflies at this time of year were terrible!!! Obviously this is nature and uncontrolled, but they literally were attacking us and the dog the entire trip. When we would look outside at other guests on the beach they didn't seem bothered by these creatures, it could just be us not being used to them.

Overall, we would stay again!!!!

Delightful Setting for a Delightful Vacation

  • 4 of 5

When we arrived at the main beach house and guest house, we were enthralled by the beautiful location and the close proximity of the Chesapeake Bay sandy beach just steps away as well as the secluded setting. There was a fishing pier at the location not available at any other nearby house. We brought a boat with us and launched it at the Point Lookout State Park so were able to get a nice view of the location from the Chesapeake. Ocean kayaks were available for our use and members of our party kayaked to an estuary where numerous crabs were available for the netting and our culinary delight. There was one net at the location and a member of our party had brought another one. The crabs were easy to catch according to the crabbers in our group. We had our crab dinner in that beautiful, very modern setting at the guest house, and other dinners at the main house. While the guest house was coolly air conditioned, when we arrived the temperature inside the main house was 81 degrees and stayed that way during the first night and part of the next day. This problem was solved when repairmen installed a window unit in the main area of the house and set it to 62 degrees. That cooled the house after awhile and kept it fairly comfortable. A new HVAC unit could not be installed during our stay, but hopefully should be ready for future guests. Air was coming through all ducts but was not enough to cool the large house. The jetted tub in the spacious upstairs suite bathroom was not working and could not be repaired during our stay. At our request the property managers had placed a crib for us in the upstairs suite and wooden table high chairs for dining. There was a remote for a DVD player but we could not find the player. Each evening we gathered together to watch a movie and were able to do that with a laptop computer and movies we brought with us and our Netflix subscription, so that solved that problem. It was a five star vacation but merits four stars because of the unexpected problems with the AC. Thank you so much for hosting us.
