Great location! Immaculate 2 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage in a friendly historic neighborhood on Lake Marie Sanchez. Plenty of off-street parking. A 10 minute walk, or less, to downtown St. Augustine - St. George Street and all attractions - and only a 10 minute drive to the beautiful surrounding beaches. A short walk to the Lincolnville Restaurants - the Ice Plant Bar and Distillery and the Blue Hen.
This unique 1928 property was redesigned and rehabbed by the host. Brazilian walnut flooring, pecky cypress ceiling and Havana ceiling fans are just a few of the custom touches. There is high speed WiFi and Cable with 120+ channels (including ESPN). On the waterfront is a beautiful deck, the street side has a nice covered porch with a big table and chairs, overhead lighting and extra seating.
No events, gatherings or parties.
No smoking inside of the cottage.
Please do not use the internet to conduct any illegal activity.
Please treat the cottage and neighbors with respects.
This cottage in Saint Augustine is wonderful. We arrived on Sunday and never moved the car until leaving. It is a 10 minute walk downtown and there is a lot to do and you really don't need a car. great food and great tours. The walk across the bridge is fun with lots of your best friends at sunset.
House is adorable. Location is perfect (10 minute walk to just about everything). Elliot is extremely helpful. Beautiful views since on a lake. We loved St Augustine and want to live in this house! Great for 4 people.
This is a tough review to write. The owner of the property, Elliot, was extraordinary guy and was a gracious host. There are really significant pros and cons to this property.
Pros - The location is about a 10 minute walk to St. Georges Street. Being on a small lake, it was fun to watch the mullet jump and the osprey having dinner.
Cons - The decor is blend of personal memorabilia and football items. The second bath doesn't have a real shower, it's a tub with a handheld shower attachment. It was very dusty on light fixtures, ceiling fans and pictures. The yard is a complete mess. The plastic mattress covers were reminiscent of being back at camp when I was a kid. By the time you paid the taxes, cleaning fees and mandatory insurance it was a very expensive two bedroom rental.
I would not rent this property again.
Very nice place in a quiet section of town, but not too far from the action. Being on the water added to this very restful place to stay. I'm just sorry that there is an ordinance that does not allow fishing.
We had a great experience, place was clean, easy walk or bike ride into town.
Elliot the host was fantastic gave us some good recommendations, on places to eat and drink. Would highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. The home is immaculate, the decor and attention to detail is impeccable. Jaybird was a pleasure to have as host, offering many great recommendations as to where to eat and things to do. He also goes the extra mile! We had asked if he had wine glasses, as we couldn't find any in the cupboard. He disappears for a few minutes and returns with brand new Riedel glassware! He raced out to buy some so we didn't have to drink our wine out of rocks glasses (which would have been just fine for our "beach" wine"). The cottage is in walking distance to downtown and everything was very accessible. We had a wonderful stay and would return to Jaybird's cottage in a heartbeat! Thank you, Jaybird!
