Clean, safe upscale apartment complex

We stayed the first weekend of April 2017. Very nice apartment and a great value. Very close to downtown. We did not ride the train, but it is a block from the complex. No check in problems. We had a very small concern and the host addressed the concern immediately. No issues at all with the check in process. Step by step instructions made the process and experience very simple. Great pool area with a place to grill. The clubbouse is extremely nice. Pool table and shuffleboard! I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for an alternative to a hotel.

Great location, horrible support from owner and management of Elan City Appts

We booked for 7 nights starting Thursday Feb 23-March 2nd. We had a wedding on Friday night Feb 24. That night we spent at the Hampton Inn at McKinney, TX. Surprisingly someone broke into the Appartment and stole my laptop (work) and other stuff. Suspiciously none of the owners stuff was taken; not even touched. We got back in on Saturday at noon after church service and found out. We inmediately called Amy from Team W for support and surprisingly she got all worked up so we calles 911. Police officer came and filed police report under case no. 044495-2017. The office thought it was an inside job since it seems virtually impossible for someone to break in with several codes and keys necessary to wander around. We talked to the Management from Elan City Luxury Appts and got the same reaction. Not willing to cooperate and ask their own staff who were on duty on that day/night. Fortunately I am a lawyer and will follow up with this case until someone is punished and my property is restored. Hate to say but the complex is neat and in a great location, but Team W, Amy W, Elan City Luxury Appts and Greystar are crooks.

Seemless Stay

I don't understand the negative comments here. Booking was easy - online with a response and rental agreement mailed, paid and returned within 5 minutes! Place was clean and exactly as stated on the advertisement. Check in was as easy as punching in a code and getting a key from a box on the door.

Had issues with connecting to internet but was fixed asap so not a concern. Place was central for my stay and a quick 5 minute walk to Deep Ellum where there is a cool restaurant and drinking scene kinda underground. Pool and grounds are first class - owners facilities with pool table, shuffle board and media room were awesome and I used for entertaining and had meetings in this area.

Difficult, Unaccommodating Property Managers! Dusty! Way Overpriced!

If you have other options, I would strongly recommend staying away from this property. The day we were flying out, I still had not received access instructions. it took several attempts to get ahold of someone. They treated me like a criminal before we got there, despite having paid in full, and demanded I send them a copy of my license. I explained that my purse, wallet & bags were packed with my husband who was at work and would be picking me up when he got done to drive straight to the airport. They held the instructions hostage & refused to accommodate our situation. I've rented over a dozen times from home away & this was honestly the first time anyone every did this. I had to send it from the car on the way to the airport. I didn't receive the info until we landed & accessing this place is an absolute nightmare! It was late. I had questions. The property managers were not available.

When we arrived, their instructions were awful. We had no code to get into the building and there are several locked gates and doors, each needing a key. The apartment building is an absolute maze. I've never seen anything like it.

There never was a parking pass. We were forced to park on the 6th floor, because we were told by security they would tow us without a parking pass. I spent too long trying to finally reach the property managers and request our pass. They told me it was in a drawer & I would have to search for it. It wasn't there. They never cared or responded. We were stuck being inconvenienced. Parking situation was awful.

Pull out couch was very comfortable.

The tv stands, dressers & nightstands were beyond dusty. I had to clean this place.

We got caught in horrific traffic the morning of checkout & contacted the rental company to explain our situation. We had the key with us & would not be back in time to return it, but our belongings & us had been out of the apartment. They ended up charging us $95 additional dollars & would not refund our deposit because we were late bringing back the key.

Owner's Response: It is unfortunate that this guest wrote such a review. We always get an id prior to letting people have the check in details to confirm identities for the safety of the community as a whole. This guest was asked multiple times over the course of a month for her ID but she complained about it the whole time saying it was too difficult to take a cell phone pic of or scan her ID. She had an issue with a parking pass which we addressed and contacted her via emails, calls, and texts but she refused to respond or pick up the parking pass. Strangely enough our cleaners found the pass right where we told her it was-she had lied about the whole thing to get us to buy another parking pass she didn't need. The only response we got from her was the constant complaint that she will leave a negative review because we required her ID. She complains in her review also about the security codes to get in-all of which she had and we tried to check in with her because we knew she was upset and traveling is tough anyway. On the day of her departure she had confirmed a 9 am check out but took the apartment keys with which made it very difficult for our hard working cleaning crew-who do an outstanding job. We eventually got the keys late that afternoon. She said she was stuck in traffic-from 9 am to 5 pm apparently which is why she says we couldn't get the keys and why she didn't take her things out of the apartment. We aren't always perfect-but we feel like we went above and beyond to try to keep this guest happy and she did everything she could to be difficult-she even stole the batteries from the TV remotes.

Great rental for the money...but could use a better cleaning service.

I recently stayed at the property at Live Oak and, for the most part, was very happy with the facility. We were in town for the convention so didn't really require much. What I did not like that was evident was that someone with a pet/dog stayed at the apartment prior to us arriving. There was pet hair on everything. This was especially annoying since I am allergic to dogs. Also, the pictures showed 2 beds in the bedroom which was not the case. Again, for the limited amount of time we spent in the apartment, it served its purpose.

Owner's Response: This review is disappointing as she did not ever mention anything about pet hair during her stay and we were not aware of any pets being there. If we would have known the cleaners would have been back out there immediately or we would have moved her to another apartment. Also the listing clearly describes 1 queen bed in this 1 bedroom apartment and all pictures show 1 bed.

We met another couple in Dallas for a holiday weekend and the location and amenities delightful. The customer service from reservation to welcome to wrap-up was perfect! Very close proximity to good restaurants, shopping, and attractions.
