Description

Photos and Description of this holiday studio in Daytona Beach - #2 - 4th Floor with Balcon

1 Bath, Sleeps 4

This is a one room unit... 2 Queens. Kitchenette. Full Bath. It's located right in the middle of "Everything" Daytona. If you want Honky Tonk outside your building this isn't it. Just Beach and Sunshine. You're just about in the Center of the Beach World!

Crabby Joe's! Those of us lucky enough to live in the area know this fishing pier very well. My Wife and I visit there daily when we're in town.... Happy hours are cheap and fun. Early afternoon, cocktail and looking out to Sea is something I never get tired of. There's a great bar but also a super restaurant. Oh, yeah, and a Fishing pier that is Fun to walk out on and see what the 'locals' and others are catching...

One of my favorite things to do is watch the surfers from Crabby Joe's... Yeah, on both sides of the pier they surf, daily, and if you're not a surfer it's a great way to see how it's done and how it's not done....

You'll see Porpoises from the Beach but out of the Pier you'll see them up close if you're a little lucky..... Turtles???? Yup!!! Often! You can see why I spend a lot of time out on Crabby Joe's... Oh, and yup, they have coffee early and Breakfast Early enough.....

And if you walk at all it's about a 10/20 minute walk down the beach...... Life doesn't get much better, location wise, than my Condo!!!! Oh, and I use my condos a lot but I've also got a House 5 minutes away!!!! So don't feel bad that you're taking my 'condo' from me, I'm nearby and often, if you're of a mind and let me know, I'll buy you a drink at Crabby Joe's.....

Restaurants? Too many to list within 10 minutes but one of my faves is Boondocks.... IT's about 3/4's of a mile away... Oh, yeah, that's where my house is, but the food is all fresh and Sea Food to die for.... Beer and Wine only but on the I.C.W. and the kids will love feeding the Salt Water Catfish their left over F. Fries....... Oh, and of course the bar at Boondocks is my second/first faves... I go back and forth as to which I like best... After all, I have been a sailing Capt. for almost 40 years and I've got to be on the water!!!!!!!!!!

Ponce Lighthouse is well worth the visit.... A simple drive south from in front of the Condo will have you there in less than 15 minutes unless, yeah, I know, another great Restaurant gets your attention....

My third favorite lunch place.... The north turn!!!!! One of the oldest Daytona 500 must see locations..... It's where it all started and the photos on the walls are to die for if you like NASCAR at all.... Go at night for entertainment.... Live on the beach... Lunch's with the kids playing in the sand while you watch over them from the deck is a high-lite not to be missed.... You must """see it to believe it"""!

I could go on and on but if, and I hope you do, if you decide to stay at my home on the beach I'll give you more great things you can do while you're visiting my home town..... Capt. Gene

Location write up….

It's simple. If you're on I 95 north or south you take Exit 256 onto Route 421, Dunlawton Ave... Toward the Ocean.....

Several miles later you'll come to a High Bridge which will take you over the I.C.W.!!!

You're first view of the Ocean will hit you when you get to the top of this bridge! It is an awesome view! This is one of my Wife's and my favorite views in the world. We See our beach and we know we're almost home....

You now drive straight to the water!!!! The last Building on your Right before you get wet is Pirates Cove...... Take a right, quick!!!!!

If you don't you'll soon be in the sand!!!! And if you don't stop or turn you'll be in the Atlantic Ocean!!!! You're now home for your Vacation, Enjoy!!!!

It's right there on your right!! And if you look real quick you'll see a Pelican or two flying by... Oh, and don't be surprised when they go right past you when you're sitting on the Balcony relaxing, a little spooky if they come real close..... Enjoy! capt. gene

About Capt Gene

Old Sea Capt. Sailed most of the Caribbean. Navy Brat so lived all over the USA. Married for 48 years. Love the Ocean and that's why I bought these two units on the Ocean. Great Views, simple lay out. On the Beach all day and watching the Sunrise in the morning and the Stars at night makes for a mighty fine beginning and end of a Day...

Capt Gene purchased this studio in 2015

Why Capt Gene chose Florida Central Atlantic Coast

Price was right which means I have no problem renting them out and can get lots of repeat business. Love to let other's know what MY BEACH in Fl. is like. Hope you'll all buy something close by, and have your friends stay in my Condos when they're in town...

What makes this studio unique

Ocean, Views, and just the right distance away are all of those wonderful reasons so many of us have come, and stayed in Daytona..... (-;

Perfect for a couple's getaway.

  • 4 of 5

The unit we stayed in is the perfect size for a couple who enjoys the views, (aw, that sunrise), and spending time outside, (not a lot of sitting room in the unit, but who wants to be inside when you can be on the beach or the on the balcony). The unit is small and a bit dated but comfortable and it has a full size refrigerator. (a huge plus as so many kitchenettes only have a tiny frige). The unit was fully stocked with dishes and linens, (except beach towels). The full sized closet even had several beach chairs for our use. Capt Gene is a perfect host. He let us know that he is available by phone, text, or email, and promptly responded to any questions we had.

Owner's Response: Susan was a 'no problem' guest. A few questions, and had a great time. Left the Condo in great condition and would be welcome back at the drop of a hat... capt gene

Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

After a much needed weekend breather I can honestly give a fantastic review!

The room was clean, comfy and omg the view! I woke up both days to see sunrise. Morning coffee on the oceanfront balcony. What more could you want!

Definitely will be back! Owner, Capt. Gene is easy to speak with and full of knowledge of the area! Definitely recommend Crabby Joes (right there on the pier) Hidden Treasures restaurant 10 min drive at the Ponce Inlet lighthouse, oh and we climbed the lighthouse amazing view! Also North Turn (the original north turn of the Daytona 500). Let's see....bath towels were super fluffy seemed brand new!

Thank you again!

Owner's Response: Always great to have 'friendly' folks stay. I try to help with the "where should I go's", it's easy to find but with so many sometimes "I" can save some wasted time... Come again anytime. capt gene

Not a good experience

  • 2 of 5

WE were extremely disappointed. The housekeeping was terrible. The internet barely worked. there were roaches by the sink and exterminator was needed. The electric outlets were outdated and definitely not enough of them. Staying there was a hardship for me. I believe the owner should completely overhaul unit if he intends to rent it to people looking to stay more than a night. The listing was over stated. Getting sheets and towels replaced was totally inadequate. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Owner's Response: House keeping was once a week per our agreement for a 1 Month Stay. If you expect 'room' service you should stay at a Hotel. My Guest's want privacy and I insist on them getting it.. The internet is WiFi. It's not as quick as Wired but I've never had a problem. I have the unit sprayed monthly. I stay in the unit quite often and never have seen a Roach. I have found that if the Balcony door is left open at night Palmetto Bugs do come in. And they die because of the regular spraying by the staff. I'm waiting for the 'spring' slow down and will have more plugs installed. I've never had a complaint before but you can never have to many plugs. The Condo association insists that everything be up to code and we're inspected regularly. I trust our inspectors and know my Unit is up to code. I rarely rent my unit for less than 3 nights and to date had never had a complaint. My listing is quite simple. A Balcony to die for with a view that you'll never forget! Two queen sized beds, a kitchenette and a full bath. Can't say much more about that. My guests rave about the Sunrise and Love sitting on the Balcony at all times a day listening to the Ocean Roar. I can't imagine anyone that doesn't find that soothing. I can't imagine anyone not loving my facility. capt gene

How do I say it again. What would you not expect to find in Daytona is easier folks... Within 5 miles there's no Snow! No Snow Sking! Hmmmmm.

Lighthouse? Yup, 5 miles away.

Kayaking? Yup, several places to rent them....

Waterfront Dining? Contact me before you go and I'll tell you my favorite 6. All within 3 miles, and Crabby Joe's is 1/4 mile walk down the Beach.

Mini Golf? Yup, across the street and 100 yeards North, brrrr, going North always makes me think of Snow, but nope, no snow, just a Mini Golf Course the kids will love....

I could go on and on. It's all close by. Ya Ya's is 100 yards away if you want to meet many of the local Bar Tenders etc.... An interesting place to experience..

The North turn: Where the Daytona 500 started.... Go, visit, and make sure you find out why it's called the North Turn. It makes a great story for those you know back home that have never been there....
