About David & Leta Reeves

This was our cabin that has been our "just a Stepp away" from Atlanta for many years where we reunited with nature as a respite from our challenging jobs. We love this area so much that we decided to purchase a home in this wonderful community after looking at many others. Our new home gave us the opportunity to share a piece of our heaven with others by sharing our cabin.

David & Leta Reeves purchased this cabin in 1988

Why David & Leta Reeves chose North Georgia Mountains

Single Story "no stairs" quaint cabin in a small quiet community with all the amenities of the city-great diverse restaurants, events and shows, lots of shopping, nice people, with lovely mountain and lake views everywhere you go.

What makes this cabin unique

It features a single story with no stairs. It is so very quiet which makes it super relaxing. Close enough to Hiawassee, Lake Chatuge, and restaurants with no city lights to disturb the view of the stars, and no busy activity to scare the deer and birds away.

Fantastic getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time staying here (first time using VRBO as well), and I can say that this will not be our last. The Reeves made sure everything was ready at their cozy, inviting cabin. Their location was a perfect home base for us to spend our time hiking mountain trails and viewing waterfalls ( there are countless hikes all within a 45 min drive). We both work in the city and this retreat to nature is exactly what we needed!

A mountain place to make memories and rest your mind

  • 5 of 5

The northern mountains of Georgia couldn't be any more different from the tropical coastal vacation experiences our family is used to. However it is just as beautiful. It invites exploration or quiet comfort and contemplation.

The cabin is fully furnished and the closeness of the local markets and shops make the concept of "home away from home" really resonate. It is a place to come back to and revisit.

Perfect home away from home in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We spent a delightful 3 days in this perfect getaway cabin. Our goal was to find a quiet, comfortable place to enjoy mountain air and fall colors. The layout of the cabin worked very well for 4 adults. We found that all of our needs had been thoughtfully anticipated. We especially loved the large back porch - great for drinking coffee as the sun comes over the mountains.

Everything we wanted and more

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for a long weekend with a friend. Plenty of space to be together and apart. The decor was charming. Details such as extra thick towels, sharp knives, useful brochures, and ice already in the freezer were much appreciated. The screened deck porch was swept and clean, the cozy bed quilts were exactly the right weight, and great WiFi performance combined to make our visit comfortable and easy.

We would enjoy returning to the cabin any time of year and recommend it to our friends.

As Goldie Locks would say, "it was just right."
