About the property

Brand New Open Plan 3BR Contemporary With Gourmet Kitchen & Luxurious Finishes

Welcome to our dream house, one of the newest homes in Port Charlotte and a new listing on VRBO.

It is about enjoyment of water, outdoor living, boating, technology, modern amenities, cooking, dining, entertainment, relaxation and hospitality.

Start your day as we do with a spectacular shower, a long soak in the spa, and breakfast inside or out.

Books and naps in a lounge poolside. Then maybe an outing to the white sand beaches of the Gulf coast, or golf, tennis or shopping.

If you brought your boat, stroll down to our 85 foot dock and head out. You're only 1,000 feet from Charlotte Harbor, or rent one at Fisherman's Village only minutes away. Porpoises, fish, rays, manatees and birds splash and play right at the dock. They're biting right there if you want to fish. You've heard of a house with a dock, we wanted a dock with a house.

After your adventure, cool off in the heated salt water pool which sports a waterfall, two laminar fountains, a long canal view and the rustling fronds of our coconut grove.

Dry off and enjoy the house which we think you'll agree offers one of the highest levels of finishes and amenities you'll find in the county. Sonos provides the music via eight ceiling speakers inside and out.

The ample master bedroom is decorated in art glass, with sliders to the spa and lanai, double doors to the living room. A pocket door leads to the bath where you'll find Axor fixtures, stunning glass tile, a sit down vanity, and large walk in double thermostatic shower with wall showers, a rain head, wand, benches and glass sink.

Continue on to the large master closet / dressing room. Washer and dryer are right there where you need them.

The house features a genuine open plan. Pocketed sliders fully open the living room to the lanai. You'll find a large well appointed kitchen, large granite island with suspended hood, and an induction cook top for fast cooking without heating up the house. There are double wall ovens, stainless french door fridge, and a Subzero clear ice maker which makes 50 pounds a day. There's plenty of space to cook with friends.

A round crackle glass dining table sits beside the island where you will enjoy water views, sliders to the lanai and chairs as comfortable as they are striking.

A pocket door offers privacy to the comfortable guest rooms and a bathroom with a walk in thermostatic shower you can switch between wall and rain heads.

When it's time for dinner there's an outdoor kitchen with an induction cooker, prep sink, granite counter, outdoor fridge and propane grill. There's a UHD TV above the counter.

After dinner it's time for drinks by the pool and another good soak in the spa. The showers, pool and spa are inspired by Baden-Baden's Caracalla and Friedrichsbad. With the spa heated to 35 degrees C (between Friedrichsbad pools nine and ten), you'll never want to get out. When eventually you do, a thermostatic shower is right there waiting for you.

Dry off and head into the media room to check your devices and watch the large curved UHD TV from the oh-so-comfy electric reclining long sofa. Nod off, head to bed, wake up and do it all again.

There's a rhythm to this house. A lifestyle that fosters savoring each moment. When reality intrudes, we never want to leave. We hope you'll settle in, feel the same, and visit us again.

Beautiful home BUT.........

  • 2 of 5

Pro: The house is beautiful, no doubt about it. The owners have thought of everything. They even sent down a neighbor with soap and paper products which was so very thoughtful. The area is quiet and the setting very tranquil. Most of the area shopping and restaurants close up about 8 but again if you are going to unwind, this is the place. Our bed in the master was like sleeping on a cloud. The best night’s sleep in a long time. The media room and whole house technology was just fabulous. The owners have really great taste in décor and furnishings. The master bathroom is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. They really thought of just about everything.

Con: 1st night we noticed a smell coming from master bathroom. Upon inquiry to the owner it was learned that the installation of the drain for the bidet was to the sewer and not the shower drain. So we had an almost constant sewer smell that traveled into the master bedroom for a very unpleasant odor almost every day or so. Unless I sprayed water down the drain every day, the smell eventually came back. Next, hot tub never really was hot, maybe lukewarm but not hot as you would expect for a hot tub plus the jets only came on twice a day for a brief period of time. There was no way to access the controls, it was all remote & locked up. Pool lights came on the first night but never after that. We notified the owner but nothing corrected. Lastly, almost 2 weeks after we had checked out, I get email on my damage deposit of $500 showing $200 being deducted for “wood trim on oak bar”. No explanation other than that, no advance notice, no notification at checkout or after the subsequent walk thru. No communication either the day of or after checkout not even 2 days later but almost 2 weeks later. No picture until I requested it, no copy of repair estimate, just $200 gone. The picture shows small piece of wood trim from small cabinet glass door. I told the owner if we had broken something we would pay for it but knew nothing about this & was never promptly notified of the problem. I really think this is unfair since almost 2 weeks had gone by & other people had been in the home since checkout. I’ve turned it over to my insurance company for resolution, however, I just feel the whole situation was handled poorly & clearly there was poor communication by the owners. I would never rent again just based on the sewer smell alone. Owners should fix this and stop renting to people while this problem still exists.

Owner's Response: It has been a joy to share our dream home and favorite place. We've made great friendships and mostly book now to returning guests. This is not an investment property, we live here. We furnish and maintain it to an extremely high standard. One returning guest told us “no other house will do.”/ This guest filled the house with more people than they booked for and broke a piece of furniture. We overlook small wear and tear issues and this is the first time we ever placed a small charge against anyone's security deposit. This guest's review is in retaliation for that. This is new construction. The pool is covered by the totally Hayward warranty. When we were informed one of the lights went out we immediately placed a repair call. Among the things that make this house unique (for the present) is smart home technology. The pool and spa are automated by the first Omnilogic smart controller in the county which turns on the spa, fountains, waterfall and lights. The pool and spa form an organic “one body of water,” circulating together via the waterfall. For hours in the morning and evening the automation isolates the spa, the jets come on and the heater kicks on. The heat pump system is the best available technology. The spa is warm, wide with room to stretch fully out (not a knee knocker). We spend hours there every day. Our guests tell us they particularly enjoy a spa sunset. The Sonos system compliments with music. The bathrooms bring the spa experience indoors. Dimensional tile is accented by ribbons of glass. Axor fixtures allow selection of direct, rain or wand showers. The toilets are top of the line from Toto and molded from a continuous piece of ceramic with no bolts holding them together. They are equipped with bidet comfort sprayers and a drain for easy clean up. If there is ever a drain odor the sprayers are conveniently right there to add water to the “trap.” This bidet system is a nice plus you will enjoy and not find in the average home. It should not be cast as a negative to play upon people's angst over “potty” issues. This house is the product of years of research and significant investment of time and money. Its innovations are affecting new home construction in the County. It is my wife's primary residence and I look forward to retiring and joining her full time. We offer the best location and amenities. It is a place of happiness and contentment. We are honored to share it with so many outstanding guests.

House was perfect! We had a great time!

  • 5 of 5

Thanks for sharing your home with us. Your home is beautiful and exactly as described in the pictures. We throughly enjoyed being right by the harbor. It was nice to be able to bring our boat. We had a blast island hopping and visiting the local restaurants. We swam with the manatees and warned the Dolphins play on Gasparilla island. The pool was nice to cool off in after a full day out on the water. The house was very accomadating and had everything we needed plus some.

Gorgeous get away for a family or just the two of you!!

  • 5 of 5

From the minute we opened the door, this house blew our mind. The house was so beautiful and included everything you could ever want. The kitchen was full of luxuries that we don't have at home. We cooked almost every meal there which allowed us to enjoy the outdoor space. My husband and I travel to Florida multiple times a year so that we can have some down time. Our number one must have is a pool and this property had a wonderful pool, spa and outdoor entertainment area. We lived out there!! At night we enjoyed the media room to relax and watch movies that we don't usually have time for. Once it was time to go to bed, the bed was so comfortable that we had no problems sleeping. I could go on and on about this property:) We can't thank Michael enough for sharing this house with us. He was so easy to communicate with if we had any questions. We will be making this a yearly stop. Of all the houses we have rented, this house is the best by far! Thanks Michael, we can't wait to vacation there again:))

This home is over a 5 star rating! It looked exactly like the photos.

  • 5 of 5

The kitchen was amazing and had every thing you could possibly need. The media room was very high tech and the media sofa was extremely comfortable. The pool and spa area was perfect, wish we were still there! Also it was very enjoyable to have your coffee in the morning at the dock and watch fish and dolphin swim by.
