About Anthony Elsetinow

I grew up and went to school on the east coast. After a vacation to California, I decided to make it my home. Since moving to California, we have been vacationing in Maui for about 12 years, and the very first time we knew we would live there someday. This condo is now our home away from home. We have two adorable toddlers. Before they were born, we engaged in a 10 year search for the perfect place to call home in Maui. But when our children were born and after seeing their love and enjoyment for Maui, and with an enchanted stroke of luck, i found our second home. we are anxious to share the aloha spirit with my guests, and hope that you will feel the magic I felt the very first time I stepped foot on the island. I hope our guests will feel the love our family has for our home.

Why Anthony Elsetinow chose Maui

We began looking for a second home from the first time we set foot on Maui. We stayed in other parts of the island, including Napili and Kaanapali. We found Kihei to feel more like a family oriented paradise in a small beach resort town, located centrally allowing easy access to many points of interest. Our home is across Kihei Road from the ancient Koieie Fish Pond, and the Whale Sanctuary. We have an ocean view, that will only get better when the palm tree grows just a little bigger! We found that as return visitors, accessibility to the airport, shopping, dining, and other beaches, is very important to living in Maui.

What makes this apartment unique

Kihei is a beach town that makes you feel welcoming. The locals are kind as are the beaches. You have a variety of places to eat, shop, or simply to enjoy taking long walks on beaches that are long and beautiful, such as sugar beach. Maui ocean center is just over 6 miles away. Our home provides you many options on the laid back island of maui.

Great vacation

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at the Kihei Bay Surf was wonderful.

Check-in and check-out were easy. The place was just what we needed at a great price. Big enough, simple, but just enough attention to detail to make it comfortable and relaxing.

Our goal was to spend as much time exploring and relaxing in Maui. And we did that.

Mostly, we got up early, had breakfast on the porch and then took off for a full day, sometimes coming back for a short rest.

The walk across to the beach is quick and easy, I only wish we had more time to do it more often.

As we had a full schedule of things we wanted to do and see around Maui, we did not get to use the pool or outdoor grills as we had originally thought. Maybe next time!

We'd come back, and I hope we get to someday (soon!).

The one thing we didn't expect in Maui was the humidity in the evenings/nights. It took some guessing to figure out how to set the a/c just right, and then it was fine!

Thank you for a wonderful stay in your lovely place. Hope to return again!

Vacation in Maui

  • 5 of 5

This condo was perfect! It had a kitchen to prepare meals, a balcony to enjoy the view, AC, a great pool and swimming across the street. It is in a great location so I was able to explore all parts of the island. I would stay here again.

Great Place to stay!

  • 4 of 5

Great communication from the owner and the condo was perfect for our stay. The location was great and located close to grocery and restaurants. The condo is right across the street from a protected beach where turtles like to hang out. It was also close to the hwy which made easy getting around to different locations. The condo has chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and other things for beach use. It was great!!!! The only cons~ The patio furniture needs a little help (there are whole on the top of the table so couldn't place coffee cups or wine glasses on it... so we just took our things across the street with the lawn chairs at the condo and hung out at the beach- problem solved!) and there is road noise when you're out on the lanai but it wasn't an issue when indoors. Overall, we would definitely stay here again!!!

tand it is on a busy street but that didn't stop us from eating breakfast on the lanai every morning. At night,

Clean, humble, adequate

  • 5 of 5

We saw the building is scheduled to be bagged and fumigated by June 5 or so, but we didn't observe any obnoxious bugs.

Good comfortable bed, adequate sitting room. We appreciated the tennis rackets, boogie boards, Tommy Bahama beach chairs. Our favorite beach was Kameole Beach II which is about 2 miles up South Kihei Road and usually had a couple/few parking spots left (or else, park at Chevron).

The sand is sticky reef sand so the trick is to rinse what you can at the rinse stations, then brush off whatever is left when it's dry.

The service people were there every morning scrubbing down the barbecues and attending to the facility. Laundry closes 9pm sharp, $1.25 for wash and $1 for dry (quarters). There is a small book exchange at the laundry. You walk across the tennis court to access the laundry, and nobody was playing, so we goofed around a little with the rackets. Management keeps a full basket of balls in case anyone wants to try.

The Bahama chairs are a little old, one had a broken shoulder strap and the pillow in the back pocket.

We shopped at Foodland store, if you give them your phone number you get the Mai'kai discount, which can be substantial. Some good deals: we got a 5-pack of pork chops for $8, and they had Powerade, 4 for $5. The condo could use aluminum foil for cooking veg on the barbecue. Or maybe a steamer for the pot.

There are little flies that tend to get into things, so we just stored all the food in the big fridge: cereal, crackers, everything.

There's a basket by the garbage dumpster for recyclables (returnables), but that attracts the vagrants. If you go south on South Kihei Road to E Welakahoe Road (one block past Pizza Madness Maui, 1.7 miles from the condo), then 0.5 miles almost to Hwy 31, that's where the recycling center is. There's a sign on South Kihei Road and E Welakahoe Road where to turn.

The unit is close to the beach but also close to the busy South Kihei Road, so can be noisy. The speed limit drops to 10mph near the condo so we heard lots of enforcement- don't get a ticket!
