Situated at the end of a mountain road and in its own terrain, our family chalet-retreat is remarkable for its uninterrupted panoramic views of the snow-capped mountain peaks of the Pyrenees just across the valley. The magnificent scenery can be enjoyed from all of the bedrooms (2 double rooms, one with additional child’s bed the other with first-floor balcony; 1 spacious attic room with four single beds), from the ground floor open-plan living area and from the south-facing wooden terrace, which allows for open-air eating and living. With its stone outer walls and wooden interior, our chalet represents a retreat from the hectic modern world and a return to nature (no television, no dishwasher!), where you can shower in natural spring water and relax on chilly summer evenings in front of the wood-burning fire. There are 2 bathrooms, 2 separate WCs, an open-plan kitchen.
The chalet is also available on request to suitably equipped guests (4 x 4) for winter breaks and skiing holidays.
Travel details: Given that the house is in the countryside, it is best to travel there by car. However, it is also possible to travel to Lourdes by train, then by bus to Argelès-Gazost, and to take a taxi from there to the house (around 40 Euros). The two nearest airports are Lourdes-Tarbes-Ossun (c. 30 km) and Pau (c. 70 km).
National Park: The nearby National Park of the Pyrenees offers nature-lovers 45'700 hectares of gloriously varied flora and fauna. A comprehensive network of walking routes allows young and old to explore the area with ease.
