We are Miami natives and consider the keys our second home.
We really enjoy the Keys laid back yet active lifestyle, where we go to disconnect from the city yet stay busy bicycling, boating, and enjoying the outdoors.
John Terry purchased this house in 2015
This home is the perfect family vacation home. Not only is it in a great neighborhood, close to all your shopping needs and on the water. Super quiet and safe neighborhood for kids to ride bike and play. Plenty of delicious restaurants nearby. 30 minutes to Key West and Marathon.
Home is located on a quiet cul de sac with plenty of yard space and plenty of key deer roaming in the neighborhood. Historic No Name Bridge and No Name Key are minutes away. No Name Pub is walking distance with great pizza. Our area is known for some of the best fishing in the keys.
This was our pre-school, summer, family vacation. The house was situated away from the main road and on an isolated neighborhood, canal in front of the house and open water in the back. The house was lovely and modern with ample room for family vehicles. The neighborhood was so safe and kid friendly. The inside was perfectly adorned, classy coastal with beautiful ocian views the second you step into the open floor plan dining/living area. The minute you step in, you just want to drop your bags grab a glass of wine and lounge on the daybed staring off into the beautiful blue horizon.
We are Florida residents and came down to enjoy the pristine waters and fabulous fishing you can’t find anywhere else but the Florida Keys. The house is very comfortable with ample bedrooms and a spectacular view from every room. It is immaculately kept and clutter free which makes for a most comfortable stay. What an abundance of wildlife you will find here! Every afternoon my kids looked forward to see the key deer parade through the yard. We moored our boat off the dock and particularly enjoyed coming back after a long day on the water to relax in the swimming pool. The house is ideally situated close to all the things we planned to experience. We went fishing off Sombrero Reef, snorkeling at Looe Key Coral Reef, swimming off the waters of Bahia Honda State Park, and even took a short 30 min. drive to Key West for a fabulous dinner overlooking the sunset. The only thing we regret is wishing we had more time to spend in this paradise. Can’t wait to come back!
The property was gorgeous. Very accommodating for my family of five. Kids loved the kayaking, pool, key deer and all the other things that you can do nearby like boating, fishing and snorkeling. We had a fun yet relaxing time.
This house is a great rental. It is well laid out with spacious rooms. The entire house has been updated with a very modern clean design and great back deck and pool area. The house comes with two nice two person kayaks. The water access outback is great. Fishing right out back is not ideal, but it is extremely close to good fishing around No Name Key.
Key deer are everywhere and the pool area is well suited for families.
This is a very lovely and serene oceanfront home. The pictures are accurate. It is spacious, open, and has beautiful views. The location is quiet and the covered parking a bonus. One stop shopping is only a few minutes away. It was spotlessly clean with comfortable beds, and attractively decorated. The pool is excellent and well maintained. There was some seagrass washed in at the waterfront (as indicated in the listing) which was extensive for a few days but dissipated. I understand this is a regular occurrence in the Keys. The water is not swimmable , but the pool compensates for that and the beach at Bahia Honda is quite close. Lots of pelicans and seabirds and regular visits from the adorable Key Deer. It is easy to visit beaches, restaurants and Key West (crazy during spring break!) We had an excellent vacation and were wishing we were staying longer. The only suggestions I could make (and these would only enhance an already excellent property) are for a retractable shade over the ocean facing window, so there are more areas to sit outside during the late morning when the sun is very hot on the patio, and to reduce the heat in the sitting area at the window; a few more coffee mugs in the kitchen, some cushions for the outside seating, and some modification to make launching the kayaks a bit easier (maybe that is not possible but they were hard to get into from the ladder). Thanks, John, for our escape from the northern Ontario winter!
Have stayed in the Keys for Feb. the last six years, a different rental each time. The pictures tell the story of this Big Pine Key vacation house. Easy place to stay, clean and in a very good location for my liking. Away from the overtouristy hustle and noise but close enough to most everything needed; Winn Dixie, No Name Pub, good restaurants and marinas as well as bait shops and a great public park. Very clean and well kept. Everything is so new, washer, dryer, dishwasher actually the I can't think of anything that was not new. The neighbors were very friendly and even took us out on their boats a few times. There is a very good fishing spot at the end of the street where a channel flows and we caught a lot of good Snappers in that area. We also fished the flats nearby and were catching barracuda making for a good time. The kayaks were easy to use, getting in and out when the wind cooperated, I caught some fish out of one of them. John Terry was very attentive and whenever I called him, which wasn't needed often, he answered his phone. The new pool was a highlite. Quite a bit of wildlife in the area was nice to see, Key deer everywhere, iguanas, pelicans, bald eagles and even manatee. No Name Pub and the Square Grouper II (upstairs) are a must. I can't see anyone not totally enjoying this beautiful rental.
Bahia Honda voted 1 of the best and scenic beaches in the U.S. less than 10 min. drive or boat.
