A short stroll to City Park to Morning Call for a café au lait and beignets, amusement park, golf course, sculpture garden, botanical garden and New Orleans Museum of Art. The streetcar line is within walking distance. 2 miles to the French Quarter. The beds, linens, pillows, and furniture are brand new. Backyard patio. Have a great evening in the city, but come home to relax in this wonderful, quiet, pride-in-home-ownership community. Owners will meet you upon arrival to answer any and all questions you might have and show you around the house.

Why Wendy Tynes chose New Orleans

We chose this home because we wanted to be able to have a great time in the City, walk to eclectic neighborhood restaurants, enjoy City Park ( the 6th-largest and 7th-most-visited urban public park in the United States) and quiet mornings at the local coffee shops. An added plus is the neighborhood is primarily owner-occupied and pride of ownership shows!

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with this home because it feels like we own a piece of New Orleans history. If you're ever in the mood for company, the porch is a great meeting/greeting place. Sit out there and neighbors are certainly soon to join for good conversation. It's a great place to "people watch" as the jazz fest fans walk by. We love the Old New Orleans neighborhood feel and architecture.

Great Sisters Getaway location!

My sisters and I had a wonderful stay at your lovely property. We loved the location's close proximity to restaurants, markets and especially CeCe's Coffee at the corner. The house was very well equipped and we especially loved the front porch; we spent time out there everyday. The neighbors were very friendly and we loved the 15 minute walk to Bayou St John. Felt very safe in the neighborhood and loved the central location to so many sites. Would highly recommend it. Thanks, Wendy, for your wonderful hospitality and attentiveness.

Great location

We hardly was there, but the stay was great! Owner was very nice. She even let us check in a couple hours early. I will rent this property again. The only thing I didn't like was the privacy. There are no doors in rooms. Shotgun house style. The kitchen is the last room to house. So if you have to go to kitchen you have to walk through all the rooms. This house would be good for a couple, a small family, and a girls getaway trip.

Authentic New Orleans

The Bayou St. John property is everything you would expect from a visit to New Orleans. The property is furnished beautifully. There are lamps by comfortable chairs for reading, the beds are wonderful and the kitchen is fully equipped. The neighborhood is full of wonderful New Orleans style architecture, and the neighbors are so nice and willing to help out if needed. Uber is readily available as well as a bus line and trolley that go to the quarter. The trolley ride is well worth the very reasonable fare just to see the sights. The owner, Wendy was always available and made check in hassle free and because she couldn't meet us, she called to make sure everything was all right. I have stayed in many VRBO/Home Away properties and this is one of my favorites. We definitely plan to return.

Gorgeous home, very nice neighborhood

This home was a pleasure to stay in. It's beautifully furnished, has a fully stocked kitchen with everything you could want, comfortable beds and furnishings, a gorgeous patio with tropical looking plants, and a southern-style front porch with rocking chairs for sitting and enjoying the evening. The house, with its ceiling fans, antique furniture, and shotgun style has an authentic New Orleans feel to it. So you kind of feel like you're living like a local. We were able to walk to Whole Foods, which is about a 20 min walk away, and several restaurants in the area. The neighborhood is very nice. And Wendy, the owner, was the most responsive, friendly, and helpful owner we've ever stayed with. I highly recommend staying at this home for an authentic, comfortable, local experience in New Orleans.

Perfect for JazzFest

The location is perfect for JazzFest. The house is very nice. The neighborhood and location are great. Coffee shop a block away. Restaurants and a market with in walking distance. You can go for a JazzFest weekend and not need to go very far.

For other stays this house is very close to City Park and the Quarter.

We'll be back next year.

The property provides safety, convenience, and comfort. The owner is caring and attentive.

This home was ideal for me and my sister. We travel to NOLA on a regular basis to visit family, so we're most interested in staying close to them and being able to prepare meals. This home met all of our needs while also providing a comfortable place to start and end each day. We appreciated the safe and convenient on-street parking, the beautiful street, which we enjoyed from the rockers on the front porch, and C C's coffee shop and Consecus grocery store located within walking distance. The traditional shotgun layout lacks a hallway or bedroom doors and thus limits privacy in the 2 bedrooms. However, it didn't prove to be a big problem for 2 single women and could also work for a family. Although we didn't meet Wendy in person, she communicated with us regularly to make sure that all our needs were met. The thoughtful decor and amenities made it clear that Wendy cares about the comfort of her guests. We are ready to plan our next stay at this beautiful home.

This is a Historical residential neighborhood, so we CANT ALLOW LOUD PARTIES, sorry. We are strict about 10pm noise rule.
